Chapter 326 - Clash In Capital
"Let's go…" the old man said as he put his hand out towards Max.
"Lead the way…" Max said as his wings unfurled and with a flap, he flew into the sky.
The old man looked at Max with a bit of surprise, 'He definitely isn't one of those people….'
Seeing that Max was waiting for him, the old man slowly lifted his body into the air before leading the way.
"Where are we going Old man?" Max asked with a frown realising that they were moving out of the Edwinson Territory.
"The Recycle District…." The old man replied with a low voice.
Max didn't ask why but just continued to follow behind him.
Suddenly, the old man stopped in mid air and Max collided into him, "Why did you stop so suddenly?"
Max rubbed his nose feeling the slight ache.
"Stay back…" the old man's calm voice entered Max's ear and he finally realised that they weren't the only one here.
There were four more figures floating directly in front of them. They had dark green outfits with their face well hidden under the hood of their cloak.
"May I know why the Great Storm Family, has decided to give this old man a visit…." The old man asked with a calm look as he looked at the four in front.
"As per the order of the Family, we are here to apprehend him…" the man in the front spoke as he pointed at Max.
The old man's face contorted and his brows scrunched.
Max on the other hand didn't have any idea just who these people were.
"May, I know the reason…." The old man asked as he maintained a strong stance in front of them.
"We suspect him to be a spy from the demons…."
Max's eyes went wide when he heard that. It was ridiculous to even think that he was a spy from the demon side.
"You have a misunderstanding here….I can assure you about his identity..." The old man said willing to take the responsibility for Max.
'So, he knew about them as well….It must be due to that Valatrix guy…' Max remembered from Lisa's memories that this old man had fought Valatrix who had converted into a demon. So, it wasn't that much of a surprise that he knew about them.
'Wait! If those guys know about the demons as well and are investigating, does that mean….' Max suddenly realised about their identities.
"I don't remember asking for your opinion, are you going against the Five Ancient Families…"
"I don't think I am. The Zatch Family is the one who monitors the four Neutral Houses and the Kingsman do the same for the House on the Association's side. If there is a need, I am sure either of those two entities will be here for him. Since the kid belongs to the Academy, he is under the Kingsman's jurisdiction. So, neither do I have any obligation to listen to you nor does he have to go with you…."
Max looked at the situation and wasn't feeling good at all. He didn't want to interact with the Ancient families but it seems that they were not going to leave him alone….
'They can't be here after finding my identity right….' Max for some reason believed that had to be the case.
'But, how did it happen? At the most, they should be suspicious of me and that is to say only if they found out about my master somehow...but is that enough for them to make such a drastic move?'
"Get the kid…." The man leading the group spoke and the next instant, mana began to fluctuate in the surroundings. The mana within a few miles began to be drawn towards them as if it was being sucked dry.
'You gotta be kidding me…' Max felt sweat rolling down his forehead. Was there even a room left for him to struggle?
Supremes…
Max could feel the itch on his skin, if he didn't have the immunity, he could imagine himself being totally devastated under the pressure originating from them.
The old man stood in front of Max shielding him from the destructive aura, he seemed to be observing his surroundings.
"Wait for me to finish it…." The old man muttered.
"Didn't you say we were running out of time?" Max asked in a low voice. This wasn't the time to let his anger take over.
The old man didn't reply and a white colored aura began to leak out of his body. Max suddenly felt his shoulders sinking and his eyes widened as he immediately pulled back his senses.
His immunity wasn't working!
'What is this?' Max couldn't help but look at the old man's back. He didn't know about it, neither have he heard about it. But if his ability didn't work, did that mean….
The four people who were standing front immediately changed their stance, it was clear how cautious had they become from their earlier relaxed state.
"This is the last warning pull back.'' The old man said as the mana in the surrounding fell into disarray.
Max couldn't get the hang of it. It was as if the mana had gained a consciousness of its own and was refusing his contact.
"Whoosh!"
It seemed that these people had no intention to pull back at all.
''Bang!"
Max couldn't even see when the first clash occurred. Who struck whom and who was winning and who was losing…..he didn't have any idea.
After the noise of clash occurred, a shockwave blasted through the capital shaking buildings and sending a strong gale of wind.
Max couldn't control himself in the strong wind from the shockwave and was sent flying along.
"I will go ahead….." Max shouted in a loud voice as he turned around in mid air and zoom passed the site of battle using the strong gale to his advantage.
It was more dangerous for Max to stay in that place and not to mention, his presence would only be a liability to the old man.
Max turned his head back and looked at the scenes where the fight was taking place and shock waves were being generated one after another. The area looked like a vortex and anything which would be unlucky to come in its contact would be torn to pieces.
"He should be stronger than them….." Max could tell that the old man was way past their league. There was something different about him. But….
'I see…' Max finally seemed to have guessed the reason behind.
It was not a wise idea to kill people from the Ancient Family especially when the old man had thousands of people depending on him.
Max knew that the fight wouldn't reach an outcome if the other side didn't give up even in an unfavorable situation.
''Which way was the Recycle District?" Max looked around and when he finally found the path, he dove into the crowd. It was too eye-grabbing to be flying in the sky. If those people were not the only one, there should be more coming for him. It was better to hide.
The streets were in utter chaos and no one had any time to pay attention to anyone dropping from the air.
…
Wilson stood in the crowd looking towards the distance in the sky where the chaos seemed to be taking place
"They sure are going at it…it seems I can't find any peace…." Wilson muttered with a deep look in his eyes as he gazed in the distance and sighed.
''Is it me?" Wilson mumbled and soon laughed at it depressingly. Things hadn't been good for him after his trip back home…..when he had thought to have finally found her…..
"Hmmn…"
Suddenly Wilson noticed a person falling from the sky and with a single roll, he draped himself in a cloak and became a part of the crowd like he was in there to begin with.
"Max?"
