Chapter 464 - 454: Getting Better and Better

And so it went until mid-November. Wei Hong was still staying with her parents, with no idea how to return to the Sun Family. She didn’t know what to do anymore.

Meanwhile, Feng Ling was discharged from the hospital. Li Zhi drove to pick her up, and Sun Jiaming went along to help. He came back and told Gu’er that the place Feng Ling rented wasn’t close to them. The apartment wasn’t large, but it was big enough. It came with a bed, chairs, and a table. There was also a place to cook, fully equipped with pots, pans, and dishes. Li Zhi had also hired someone to look after Feng Ling and Grandpa Guan, getting them settled in quite nicely.

Sun Jiaming said that after spending this time together, Li Zhi and Feng Ling had grown much closer. Feng Ling had changed, too; her gaze had softened when she looked at people. However, neither of them had said anything about their relationship. Li Zhi had also returned to his normal routine, saying he would visit Feng Ling and Grandpa Guan when he had free time, but he no longer rushed over every day like he did when she was in the hospital.

Gu’er knew that both Li Zhi and Feng Ling needed time. As for whether they were fated to be together, that was something she couldn’t say for sure.

She had asked Lin Shuying to inquire about Qin Dali, and Lin Shuying had found out all the details. Qin Dali was indeed a good man—down-to-earth, decent, and a hard worker. His married daughter was still good to her family, going back to help tidy up when she had time. She had no objection to her father remarrying.

As long as the woman wasn’t unreliable and could look after his grandmother, take care of his father, and be content with a quiet life at home, he was fine with it.

"So the Qin Family seems decent, then."

And as for Zhou Mazi, if he dares to cause trouble for Hua’er, Qin Dali will beat him so badly his own father wouldn’t recognize him. He said Hua’er can rest easy. If she’s with him, he’s the man of the house and will definitely protect her. He’ll take charge of everything."

"I can see Hua’er is a bit tempted, but she’s still hesitating. From what she said, I gather that those children of hers don’t want her to remarry. I reckon if those kids act up, Hua’er will be too afraid to agree."

Lin Shuying understood Li Hua’s situation well.

’It’d be a miracle if they agreed. The three of them would love nothing more than for Li Hua to be their servant for life, waiting on them hand and foot. Of course they don’t want her to remarry. If she did, she’d have less time to take care of them.’

Lin Shuying cried tears of joy. Her daughter was so sensible, and the siblings had such a good relationship. She was truly gratified. As long as her son and daughter looked out for and took care of each other, what else did she have to worry about?

Lin Shan also brought her money, saying the children shouldn’t have to suffer for the wedding and that she should furnish it well. Gu’er stuffed some money into her hand too. Sun Jiaming, Li Zhi, Dingzi, and Liu Yuan all said that if she needed anything, she just had to call and they’d be there. She felt so fortunate to have so many people helping her.

With the house bought, even though it was getting cold, she hired people to renovate it and build furniture. It would be ready to use next year. In her spare time, she would also go out and buy various odds and ends. Now, whenever she was free, she would go over to check on things and help tidy up. The thought of her son getting married, no longer sickly and frail, filled her with energy. She felt that life was becoming more and more promising.
