Chapter 445 (1) – The Academys Weapon Replicator
Frondier looked around at the four students, thinking,
‘This is a mess.’
He had been preparing to teach students someday, but not now.
The time for students to choose electives had already passed. Under normal circumstances, there should not be a single student in combined use of magic and combat class until the vacation.
‘These abnormal brats.’
Frondier sighed and said,
“Let’s be clear about one thing.”
“Yes, what is it?”
Basileo asked enthusiastically.
“As I said before, the class is still under preparation. This is not the regular Atlas class time. Whether it’s the weekend, a holiday, or vacation, I’m not always here.”“Yes, we don’t intend to interrupt your rest!”
‘You’re already interrupting it.’
Frondier ignored him and continued,
“And for the same reason, I don’t have the time to teach you right now. You can watch, but don’t expect me to pay attention to each and every one of you. The curriculum for the class hasn’t even been finalized yet.”
Frondier tried to say whatever he could think of to avoid burdening himself as much as possible.
However, after listening from behind, Pielott let out a silent ‘ah’ and shook his head. Basileo’ eyes sparkled even brighter.
“……Why the happy look?”
“As expected of Teacher Frondier! You’re going to restructure the curriculum!”
“……Huh?”
“You must feel that the existing curriculum for combined use of magic and combat is lacking!”
Ah.
Only then did Frondier understand why Pielott had shaken his head. He had realized that Frondier had made a slip of the tongue.
He was just trying to say that he wasn’t prepared for class, but now it seemed like he was actually going to create a curriculum.
“……Anyway, don’t get your hopes up. I have nothing to teach you.”
“Yes!”
Basileo was all smiles, as if a clear rejection was something to be happy about.
At that moment, Frondier’s eyes fell on Aias.
Aias was not looking at Frondier.
He was looking at Glaucus.
With a clear look of hostility.
The killing intent he was emitting was so blatant that even Glaucus noticed and rolled his eyes nervously. His face said, ‘Did I do something wrong?’
“……Hey.”
Aias called out to Glaucus.
“Uh, yes?”
“You’re Glaucus, right?”
“Yes, that’s right. I’m Glaucus, a freshman this year. Pleased to meet you.”
“Why are you here?”
Aias asked, his face full of displeasure.
In fact, Frondier was curious about that too.
He could understand why Pielott and Basileo were here. Pielott was anxious about his stalled growth, and Basileo had already declared himself Frondier’s disciple.
Aias wasn’t too difficult to figure out either. Frondier knew that Aias, whose pride had been hurt, would approach him again someday. He just didn’t know it would be today.
However, Glaucus had no connection to Frondier whatsoever. The only one here with a connection to him was Pielott. And even that was just from one spar with Machia.
“I wanted to learn from Teacher Frondier.”
“……From me?”
Frondier tilted his head.
Glaucus said with a transparent face,
“You were the strongest person in the gymnasium during the Machia incident.”
“……How do you know that?”
“Just a feeling.”
Frondier was surprised by those words.
He had always concealed his aura inside the gymnasium. As all strong individuals do.
He had a slight disagreement with Lady Achaea, Eriboea, but it wasn’t a power struggle.
‘You’re saying you recognized my hidden Mana and aura at a glance, and picked me out from among so many people?’
Of course, those with exceptional senses can roughly read the volume of someone’s power, even if they try to hide it. Elodie, Aten, and Lunia all knew that Frondier’s Mana capacity had increased after he obtained the Mana of Helheim.
But that’s when there’s a target to sense from the start, and there aren’t that many people around.
From Glaucus’s perspective, Frondier was a complete stranger. To think he could pinpoint Frondier among all those people…
“……Tsk.”
Aias clicked his tongue as if annoyed.
He locked eyes with Frondier.
“Teacher, I want to spar with Glaucus.”
“……”
Frondier looked at Aias with cold eyes.
‘You just want to legally pick a fight with him.’
Had this guy not improved at all since being knocked out by Pielott?
“I don’t want to.”
It was Glaucus who spoke up.
“What?”
“A spar requires the consent of both parties, right? I don’t want to spar.”
Glaucus frowned, as if he genuinely didn’t want to.
“Why not?”
When Aias asked, Glaucus replied,
“You’re the weakest one here.”
For a moment,
Basileo gasped in surprise and blinked twice.
Then,
Crash!
Both Aias and Glaucus were simultaneously,
On the floor.
“Gah!”
“Ugh…!”
They were both pinned down by the obsidian, unable to move. Aias was lying flat, while Glaucus was face down.
Relatively speaking, Glaucus, who could place both hands on the floor, had a more advantageous position to exert force, but,
“Wh-What is this…?!”
Even his strength was not enough to overcome the obsidian. Especially not in his current position.
Frondier’s cold gaze looked down at them. As soon as Aias and Glaucus met his eyes from the floor, they quickly averted their gaze.
After their fighting spirit had completely died down, Frondier slowly opened his mouth.
“Pielott, Basileo.”
He called out to the remaining two.
“Leave.”
“Y-Yes?”
“You two didn’t come here today. Therefore, you saw and heard nothing. Understood?”
