Chapter 444 (1) - The Academys Weapon Replicator
Chapter 444 (1) – The Academys Weapon Replicator
The Academy’s Weapon Replicator
A tremendous roar seemed to tear apart the clear sky.
Frondier, startled by his own doing, flinched.
“Wh-what was that……”
Crackle, crackle, boom…!
The remnants of black lightning still danced in the sky. The spear Frondier had thrown seemed to have pierced the heavens themselves, as trails of lightning bolts followed its path, erupting in a series of explosions.
“The spear didn’t become infused with lightning… the spear itself possesses the properties of lightning.”
Simply put, it wasn’t a spear, but rather a bolt of lightning shaped like a spear.
More than the immense destructive power, what intrigued Frondier was the sheer speed of the projectile, a speed that left even his eyes unable to catch a trace. Indeed, it truly moved at the speed of lightning.
‘At that speed, dodging after it’s fired is practically impossible.’
Fortunately, Frondier possessed the Throwing skill. A skill that allowed him to accurately target stationary opponents.
And at that speed, his opponents would be as good as standing still.
“But the destructive power still feels lacking.”
Frondier rested his chin on his hand, lost in thought. Had anyone been nearby to hear him, they would have scoffed at his absurd mutterings.
‘The ‘Nail’ I’m projecting combines the strength of a hero and the power of a god. But in truth, it’s hard to say the two forces are fully integrated.’
What he was actually throwing wasn’t Excalibur or Mjölnir, but only the sword ki from Excalibur.
Moreover, Mjölnir’s role was merely that of a launcher, striking the pommel of Excalibur to fire the sword ki.
Of course, Mjölnir’s power was imbued in the attack, but it was closer to propulsion or acceleration. It wasn’t the raw power of Mjölnir itself.
“……Indeed.”
Frondier came to a realization.
“It was arithmetic.”
Combining powerful forces to create even greater damage. It certainly became stronger by the sum of its parts, but it was difficult to say that the full potential of each individual power was being utilized.
‘The spear of black lightning I just threw is neither the power of a hero nor the power of a god. Yet, the fact that it can unleash such power is due to the complete fusion of the spell formula crystal, imbued with my Mana, the Obsidian, and the unique-grade Azier’s Spear.’
Of course, the term “complete fusion” was a bit of a misnomer. It was closer to Frondier forcefully merging them together, using the fixed nature of Obsidian and Menosorpo.
‘The explosive damage resulting from a complete fusion…. It’s only natural when I think about it. There was already an example right under my nose.’
Needless to say, the strongest mage, Elodie, was that example.
Elodie didn’t use legendary artifacts or divine weapons. Yet, her magic unleashed unimaginable power.
The fact that elemental combination was right in front of him meant that the power from back then was on a whole other level compared to now.
It was partly because magic itself possessed greater destructive power than swords and partly due to her unique characteristic of being loved by the five gods.
‘Elodie can freely combine and fuse various magic formulas and attributes. That’s why she’s strong. Each type of magic has a single purpose.’
With Excalibur, he could prepare ingredients, cut animal hides, slay monsters, and accomplish a variety of tasks with a single blade.
But Elodie’s Storm’s Fury had only one purpose: to obliterate everything in its path.
If the weapon Frondier was creating could abandon all those various uses and function solely for the purpose of killing his opponent…
If he could replicate the “spear of black lightning” with Mjölnir—
‘…It would reach Heracles.’
If arithmetic doesn’t work, then try mathematics.
Elodie’s words came to mind. Frondier chuckled.
“Right. That’s more like me. I feel like my brain is finally working.”
Frondier couldn’t imitate the mindset, beliefs, or strength of a true warrior. He understood that perfectly.
He was a gamer. And as a gamer, he had to pursue strength in his own way.
However, a self-deprecating smile crept onto his face.
‘It’s not even mathematics yet, just multiplication.’
Frondier thought to himself.
He had moved past simply adding things together and finally learned how to multiply.
He still had a long way to go before he could truly call it mathematics.
“……I should apologize to the students and the teachers.”
