"...I see."

Finn nodded thoughtfully as he listened to Minerva and Kagura. Frankly, he understood why Minerva was here to report, but Kagura’s presence was a bit of a surprise.

"Don’t misunderstand," Kagura said sharply, looking away the moment she noticed his confusion. "I am the one who is going to defeat your guild. I refuse to play along with Fairy Tail’s underhanded alliance tactics to do it."

"....."

Finn blinked. He vividly remembered the previous day when Kagura and her entire team had mercilessly jumped Sorano and Meredy in a five-on-two brawl. Yet, looking at her current earnest expression, he decided not to be petty and point out the hypocrisy. After all, it was genuinely kind of her to go out of her way to warn him.

"Thank you, Kagura," Finn said with absolute sincerity.

"...It’s no problem."

Kagura felt her heart suddenly race, beating so fast she couldn’t control it. A deep, undeniable blush spread across her cheeks. Desperate to hide it, she quickly turned her head, letting her dark hair fall forward to act as a perfect shield for her flustered expression.

"There’s no need for you to be here anyway," Minerva sneered, waving a hand dismissively at Kagura. "You’ll probably just betray him and act as a double agent for the rest of them. Run along, Gorilla!"

"...Do you want me to cut you down right here, Snake?" Kagura’s eyes turned razor-sharp, her hand instinctively dropping to the hilt of her sword. "I’d say you’re the one most likely to bite the hand that feeds you the second his back is turned."

Minerva did, after all, naturally exude the aura of a classic villainess.

"Snake?!" Minerva’s eyes widened in outrage, her immense magical power flaring to life. "How dare you?! Do you want me to crush you right here and now, Gorilla?"

"I think I will slice you into pieces first, Snake."

"Alright, calm down, both of you."

Before their magical pressure could shatter the waiting room, Finn stepped between them. "Let’s save the energy for the final battle."

"Yes..."

The two women immediately lowered their heads in regret, realizing they were causing him unnecessary trouble. Finn sighed inwardly. He truly hadn’t expected these two fiercely proud, high-strung, and insanely stubborn women to act like bickering schoolgirls in front of him.

Then again, compared to taming Erza?

Hmm... I guess conquering them isn’t that far outside the realm of possibility, Finn mused.

As for how Kagura had become so close to his team, it was a classic consequence of this world’s logic. While Finn had been locked away spending a very naughty rest day with Erza, Kagura and the Mermaid Heel mages had crossed paths with Ultear, Meredy, Sorano, and Flare. Despite Sorano humiliating Kagura in the arena and Meredy casually wiping out the rest of her team, there was no bad blood. In fact, fighting had cleared the air, resetting their relationship to zero.

Regardless of how they became friends, their purpose for coming to him was clear: Fairy Tail was inviting the entire roster of remaining guilds to launch a combined assault on Heavenly Blue.

"What should we do, Finn-sama?" Flare asked, her eyes narrowing in concern.

Under normal circumstances, they wouldn’t spare Fairy Tail a second thought. But this guild practically breathed miracles. They defied logic. With the organizers merging Team A and Team B, the Fairy Tail team consisted of the strongest members.

Erza, Natsu, Gajeel, Gray, and Laxus.

It wasn’t just their raw magical power that was terrifying; it was their sheer, unadulterated stubbornness. These were mages who would gladly shatter their own bones and push themselves to the absolute brink of death just to secure a victory. The fact that Sting and Rogue had lost to Natsu in the original timeline proved that Fairy Tail’s "Power of Nakama" was a threat.

"You don’t need to worry about any of that. Just fight exactly as you usually do," Finn said smoothly, his voice carrying an unshakable calm. "Even if every single one of you is defeated... I will still be the winner."

The rules of this final event were simple: a city-wide battle royale.

"So don’t stress over alliances or tactics. Just go out there and give it your all, okay?"

Hearing his words and seeing the absolute certainty in his eyes erased every trace of doubt from the Heavenly Blue girl’s mind. His confidence was infectious.

"YES!"

BOOOOM! BOOOOM! BOOOOM!

Massive, brilliantly colored fireworks exploded in the sky above, signaling the official start of the final of the Grand Magic Games. The deafening cheers of the crowd shook the very foundations of the stadium.

"Heavenly Blue! Take the Championship!"

"Don’t give up, Sabertooth! Defend your title!"

"FAIRY TAIL! DO YOUR BEST AND TAKE THE CROWN!"

While Heavenly Blue and Sabertooth drew massive, roaring sections of the crowd, the underdog narrative of Fairy Tail ignited the stadium. The fans of Mermaid Heel, Blue Pegasus, and Lamia Scale were just as loud, screaming for their respective guilds to pull off a miracle and seize the pinnacle of the magical world.

"WE NOW BEGIN THE FINAL EVENT OF THE GRAND MAGIC GAMES!"

"OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

As the audience’s roar reached a fever pitch, the announcer Lola quickly laid out the rules over the lacrima screens. "This time, the battlefield is the entirety of Crocus! Each team is currently scattered throughout the city and standing by! When a member wanders through the town and encounters an enemy... a battle must ensue!"

There was no running. No, rejecting a duel. If you made eye contact, you fought.

"Knock out your opponent or render them unable to continue fighting, and your team earns one point! Furthermore, each team has a designated Leader! The opposing teams do not know who this leader is. But if you manage to defeat an enemy leader, your team is awarded a massive five points!"

Lola shouted, her voice trembling with excitement. "That means a single team could theoretically score up to forty-five points! Every single guild has a chance at winning! Will the teams stick together, or will they split up to cover more ground? We will watch their strategies unfold in real time!

"Who will seize the honor and stand at the absolute pinnacle of the magic world?!!!! Let the final Grand Magic Games..."

"BEGIINNNNNNN!!!!!!"

GONG! GONG! GONG!

"LET’S GO!"

Across the city, the competing mages surged forward, adrenaline and magic power exploding into the streets.

"Should we move?" Sorano asked, drawing her rapier.

"Well..." Finn lazily stretched his arms above his head, rolling his shoulders to warm up. He knew this battle was going to be an absolute headache.

He didn’t think for a second that he would lose, but Fairy Tail’s sheer existence was troublesome. Why? Because they literally did not know how to give up. They would gladly kill themselves before admitting defeat. If Finn harbored some intense, villainous hatred for Fairy Tail, it would be a different story. He didn’t hate them; he just found their tendency to loudly label things and violently reject anything that didn’t fit their worldview incredibly annoying.

Fortunately, once this tournament is over, he likely won’t have to deal with their antics very often.

"Get ready. Our first opponents are already here," Finn said, his gaze casually shifting down the street.

Ultear, Flare, Sorano, and Meredy instantly dropped into combat stances. They had felt the approaching magical pressure too. From around the corner of a grand cobblestone avenue, an entire team stepped into view, their eyes locked directly on Heavenly Blue.

"You don’t mind if we serve as your first opponents, do you?"

Standing at the forefront was one of the legendary Ten Wizard Saints, Jura Neekis. Flanked by Lyon Vastia, Sherria Blendy, Yuka Suzuki, and Toby Horhorta, the Lamia Scale ace radiated a confident, burning fighting spirit.

"Not at all." Finn smiled, his posture remaining completely relaxed. "Go ahead. You can have the first strike."

"Thank you."

Jura bowed his head in a gesture of profound martial respect, and in the very next fraction of a second, his magic erupted.

"Rock Avalanche."

A gigantic, glowing magic circle materialized beneath Finn’s group. The cobblestone streets violently surged upward, transforming into a massive, crushing landslide of jagged boulders designed to bury and obliterate the target in a single, devastating hit!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!

In a towering explosion of dust and shattered stone, the final battle of the Grand Magic Games had officially begun!
