Ten Lucky Draws: I Got Ten SSS-Rank Talents!
Chapter 103: Snow Valestorm (4)
"His name is Auris," Leon answered. "He is a Glacial Sovereign. And yes, he breathes ice. Absolute Zero ice, to be precise."
"Auris," Snow repeated, leaning forward and patting the dragon’s neck. "You’re a good boy, Auris. Even if you tried to freeze my favorite coat."
Auris let out a low grumble that sounded suspiciously like a sigh, causing Leon to smirk.
The flight continued, the conversation flowing effortlessly between them. Snow was incredibly talkative, filling the silence with stories of her karate tournaments on Nexus, her initial shock upon entering Eternal Heaven, and how she had survived the brutal first weeks by forging a progressively heavier sword and simply overpowering her opponents with sheer martial arts technique.
"Everyone else tried to be a mage or a rogue," Snow laughed, the wind whipping her white hair. "I just forged a sword the size of a door and started swinging. Turns out, a lot of monsters don’t know how to parry fifty pounds of solid steel."
"A practical approach," Leon noted. "But as we move into Steadfast territories, raw physical might won’t be enough. Entities will possess conceptual defenses. Intangibility, spatial warping, temporal manipulation."
"That’s why I have you, baby," Snow said softly, looking up at him with absolute trust. "You handle the conceptual reality-bending nonsense. I’ll just hit the things you tell me to hit. We are a perfectly balanced party."
As they crested the final ridge of the crystalline forest, the towering permafrost mountains came into view, and nestled at their base was the tranquil sanctuary of the Azure Scale village.
"Wow," Snow breathed, sitting up straight as she took in the sight of the glowing blue mana-rivers and the peaceful bamboo architecture. "What is this place? It looks like a painting."
"This is the Azure Scale village," Leon explained, guiding Auris toward a secluded area away from the main square. "It is an NPC sanctuary. I cleared the Abyssal Fracture to save them from the Void Mist. In return, the Elder granted me an estate."
"You saved a whole village?" Snow smiled, turning to look at him. "You are a total softie under all that terrifying armor, aren’t you, baby?"
"I am a Vanguard," Leon corrected smoothly. "It is my role to hold the line."
"Sure, sure," Snow teased, poking his chest plate. "My big, bad hero."
Auris landed gracefully in the clearing beside the rushing, glowing blue mana-waterfall. The sound of the crashing water drowned out the ambient noise of the distant village.
Leon dismounted first, offering a hand to Snow. She took it, hopping down lightly, her silver cross chains clinking against her leather shorts. She immediately spun around, taking in the sight of the beautiful two-story bamboo and polished wood house.
"Oh, baby, it’s gorgeous," Snow gasped, running toward the porch. "Look at the water! It glows! And the architecture is so... zen."
She practically skipped up the wooden steps and pushed the sliding doors open, walking into the pristine interior. Leon followed closely behind, dismissing Auris with a mental command to hunt in the nearby mountains, knowing the dragon needed to stretch his newly armored wings.
Leon stepped into the house and slid the doors shut, sealing out the noise of the waterfall.
Snow was already exploring the main room, spinning in a slow circle, taking in the woven silk cushions, the low mahogany tables, and the sheer tranquility of the space.
"This is it," Snow said, turning to face him, her blue eyes shining with genuine emotion. "This is our home."
"It is," Leon agreed, unbuckling the heavy mantle from his shoulders and draping it over a wooden rack near the entrance. "It is a safe zone. We will not be disturbed here."
Snow walked slowly toward him, the playful, eccentric energy settling into something much more intimate and intense. She stopped in front of him, reaching up to rest her black-gloved hands flat against his chest.
"I meant what I said in the forest, Leon," Snow whispered, her gaze locking onto his heterochromia. "I know I came on strong. I know it’s crazy. But in a world where we could literally be deleted tomorrow, I’m not going to waste time playing hard to get. You are exactly the kind of man I want to be with. I will be yours, completely."
Leon looked down at her, feeling the steady rhythm of her heartbeat through his armor. She wasn’t just a tactical asset anymore. She was a partner.
"I accept that, Snow," Leon said softly, raising a hand to brush a stray lock of white hair behind her ear. "We are a team now. What is mine is yours."
Snow leaned into his touch, a soft, beautiful smile gracing her lips. She closed her eyes for a brief moment, savoring the connection, before her eyes snapped open, the fiery, practical player returning to the forefront.
She took a half-step back, clapping her hands together with a sharp smack.
"Alright, husband," Snow declared, her business persona activating perfectly. "Enough mushy stuff for now. We have a fifty-three-day deadline and a massive power gap to close. If I’m going to be fighting beside a Level 100 Steadfast god, I want you operating at absolute peak efficiency."
She placed her hands on her hips, looking him up and down with a critical, appraiser’s eye.
"Your armor is top-tier, I can feel the enchantments radiating off it. And I know you have a Mythic sword," Snow said, tapping her chin. "But a Vanguard can’t just rely on a single mythic greatsword. You need a Legendary ranked weapon. You need something that perfectly synergizes with your specific magic."
She stepped forward, pointing a finger directly at his chest.
"My SS-Rank talent allows me to forge the conceptual idea of a weapon into reality. It doesn’t just create sharp metal; it creates a conduit for your specific aura," Snow stated, her eyes burning with absolute confidence.
She offered him a challenging, brilliant smile.
"So, tell me, baby... what kind of weapon do you want?"
