Chapter 600: Reading Comments
The moment the power activated, something pretty anticlimactic happened.
Back in the cocoon when the Author mentioned giving Ash complete access to his NovelFire account and Discord, he meant it quite literally.
A mortal iPhone appeared in Ash’s hands — sleek, black, and surprisingly ordinary.
It felt light, almost weightless, with a simple matte finish and no visible branding beyond the familiar apple logo. It was nothing special, just a regular smartphone from Earth.
Elysia blinked at it, tilting her head with a faint, amused smile.
“…Uh isn’t this a phone?” she said, her voice carrying a hint of disbelief. “Out of everything… he gave you a Phone?”
Ash stared at the device for a moment, then let out a low, genuine laugh, shaking his head.
“I truly expected anything but an iPhone” he replied, turning the phone over in his hands.
“I guess it makes sense, knowing we’re attempting to read comments.”
He unlocked the phone with a simple swipe. The home screen was minimal — just two apps.
NovelFire and Discord.
Ash tapped the NovelFire app first, opening it with a casual flick of his thumb.
The screen lit up with a clean, modern interface — dark mode background, simple navigation bar at the bottom.
At the top, the app’s logo appeared briefly before loading into the homepage. The first thing that greeted him was the Author’s username in bold letters:
NovelGeek2
Ash’s lips twitched into a faint, almost amused smile.
“NovelGeek2,” he read aloud, his voice carrying a hint of dry humor. “Hmm, so it’s really your pen name.”
Elysia leaned in closer, her golden eyes reflecting the phone’s glow as she rested her chin on his shoulder.
“Sounds like someone who spends too much time reading,” she teased lightly.
“Let’s see what else he’s into.”
Ash navigated to the Library section, scrolling through the list of novels under the Author’s profile.
There weren’t many — only a handful of titles, most of them appearing to be in-progress or recently started.
He skimmed the titles and descriptions, his expression neutral.
“Fantasy, cultivation, some system stuff… nothing too out of the ordinary,” he muttered.
“He seems to like the Overpowered protagonists, world-building, Harem stories…. tsk did that bastard give me his taste towards Novels as well?”
By now, Ash was no longer foolish enough to believe the world he had once lived in was truly Earth.
He had come to terms with the reality that absolutely everything that had happened, at one time or another, had been part of NovelGeek’s elaborate plot.
Elysia hummed thoughtfully, her fingers lightly tracing his arm.
“Maybe you two have more in common that we know.”
“I guess I’ll have to ask the guy some day.” Ash said as he tapped on his own novel: Ten Lucky Draws: I Became OP.
The app loaded the cover page instantly.
*Continue the scene as the cover art is a illustration of Mira with her back turned showing her harpy features and it look beautiful.
However seeing htis Ash’s lip’s twitches. He then comments on how the bastard really put his wife on display for anyone to see.
Elysia will chuckle saying why don’t he change it.
At that he smiles saying just remind him. At that he continues.*
Below the title, a few stats appeared clearly.
1,891 Fans57 ReviewsOverall Rating: 4.5 Stars
Ash arched a brow seeing this.
“Hmm, I wonder,” he said, a small smile forming.
“Am I his first creation… and are these good numbers?”
Elysia nodded softly, her breath warm against his neck.
“I admit, I’m curious how these ranks among the others on the platform as well.”
Ash tapped the Reviews section.
The first thing that loaded was a pinned comment from the Author himself.
NovelGeek2 (Pinned):“Author here! If you have any questions relating to the book, then please feel free to ask!
This is my first book so, excuse if the beginning is a bit rough.
Other than that, I hope you enjoy!”
As Ash read through the words, something else snagged his attention, pulling his gaze to the date on the pinned review.
Six months ago.
He blinked in surprise, a quiet, incredulous laugh slipping out.
“Six months…” he murmured under his breath. “For the Author, only six months have passed… but for us, it’s been over 200 Cycles.”
Elysia’s eyes widened, her golden gaze darting between the phone and Ash.
“That’s… mind-boggling,” she murmured. “If I didn’t know how writing novels worked, I’d swear this guy was some kind of ultimate deity.”
Both she and Ash knew from writing Nullen and from their own reading that time in the real world and in a novel were vastly different.
An author could shape time however they wanted, as if it truly held no meaning at all.
Ash scrolled down, starting to read the replies to the author’s pinned comment.
The very first reply was from a reader named ThroneBoundQuill.
ThroneBoundQuill: “Here is my advice to you. The issue I found in your novel is that it contains…..”
Ash nodded slightly, appreciating the honest feedback.
Truthfully, he agreed; rereading the earlier Chapters, he realized they were indeed too long and at times overly descriptive.
“Who would’ve thought the first reply would actually be helpful?” he muttered.
He continued scrolling, his reddish-purple eyes narrowing as he read more comments.
“How big is the harem going to be?”
“Yuri?”
Ash furrowed his brows, a mix of amusement and mild annoyance crossing his face.
He scoffed, speaking aloud as if addressing the readers directly.
“I’ll have as many women as I like,” he said, his voice low and firm. “Now stop worrying about them.”
Elysia, still leaning against his shoulder, tilted her head with genuine curiosity.
“What’s ’yuri’?” she asked.
Ash chuckled, explaining simply.
“It means romantic or sexual relationships between women.”
Elysia’s golden eyes sparkled with amusement as she laughed softly.
“NovelGeek clearly lied in the replies,” she said, her tone playful.
“He told readers that outside of an orgy there won’t be yuri… but we clearly have fun all the time.”
Ash chuckled along with her, nodding as he continued scrolling.
“Though that’s the case, I’ve noticed the Author hasn’t actually included much of that content,” he said, his smile widening.
Then he came across a question that made him arch a brow.
“How long is the novel going to be?”
NovelGeek2’s reply: “I have no set number but it’ll most likely be somewhere between 7-800.”
Ash paused for a moment, staring at the number.
