Ten Lucky Draws: I Became OP

Chapter 481: The Gambler Gambled

Chapter 481: The Gambler Gambled

Much like before, the Game remained the same—except for one rule. Since the Gambler couldn’t quite read the beings before him, he added a sort of insurance.

Now, even if the loser pulled off a single win, a second game had to start.

And with the way things kicked off…

He silently congratulated himself for adding that rule.

Things were ending almost as quickly as they began.

Even though Clara and Evelyn were up against The Gambler himself—a being with absolute control over gambling—they didn’t care.

In the end, he wasn’t perfect.

The Gambler sat across from the two sisters, his usual confident smile now replaced by a tense, calculating expression.

He stared at them intently, green eyes narrowing as the holographic cards floated in front of them.

Round One and Round Two had ended far too quickly.

Unlike how he did thing usually, He had planned to completely deny Evelyn even the first round — to crush her confidence early.

But somehow, even with him not cutting any slack, she still won.

Every time he tried to tilt the odds in his favor, she would shift just enough to counter him. It was as if she could read the flow of the game before it even happened.

And Clara… she barely looked like she was trying. She remained relaxed, almost lazy, yet her totals kept coming out on top.

The Gambler clenched his jaw.

’How?’ he thought.

’She’s in the Nineteenth Dimensional, same as me.’ He continued to muse as if he was weaker then he could understand the issue.

But even at the same rank there wasn’t anyone who could best him in a game….

Especially the game he created.

As the third and final round began — nine cards now appearing — he finally decided to stop holding back.

He spoke while the cards materialized, keeping his tone light, but his eyes betrayed his growing frustration.

“You are… surprisingly good at this,” he said, forcing a smile.

“Most people start sweating by round two. Yet, you’re still sitting there like we’re just having tea.”

Evelyn gave a small shrug, her expression calm.

The Gambler had no idea that Evelyn was virtually incapable of losing a game.

Honestly, any Unus could give him a serious challenge; after all, they were crafted to be flawless beings, which naturally made them exceptional gamblers.

And Evelyn, as the Goddess of Perpetual Change, had the power to alter absolutely anything—whether it was the surroundings themselves or the very cards being turned over right in front of them.

“We just got lucky, I guess,” she said.

The Gambler’s smile grew taut.

“Lucky? No… it’s not that simple, is it?”

As the cards began to flip into place, he pushed his influence over gambling to the limit.

He leaned forward slightly, his green eyes narrowing with intense focus. In that moment, he pushed his power to its absolute limit.

Influence was something with many different uses, depending on the type it took.

For instance, much like the Lord of Alchemy, it could be wielded to control others through their own power.

But it went far beyond that, because Influence set these beings on a path toward a kind of power, they had no idea they were chasing.

The irony, though, was that this path ultimately led to something unexpected—the transformation into nothing more than an idea.

This was also the next step beyond Trans-conceptual existences. At this point one would step beyond controlling or being the thing above thousands of minor concepts.

Becoming an idea was a long journey.

That’s why, to this day, Influence remains the most renowned pinnacle of conceptual power.

Yet, among its many uses, there was one in particular that The Gambler began using this very moment.

In this moment, there was no mana surge, instead he became more.

As his perception broadened, he became attuned to the intricate dynamics of gambling — the delicate currents of chance and the nuanced shifts in his opponent’s mental state.

Evelyn’s calm, steady rhythm was evident to him, a measured cadence that conveyed composure and control.

Yet, beyond this, his heightened awareness granted him the extraordinary ability to perceive the cards before they were revealed, as though the veil of uncertainty had been lifted.

With each passing moment, he could sense the trajectory of the game subtly bending, conforming to his will, and aligning with the currents he now so effortlessly navigated.

’This time… I won’t lose.’ He spoke internally.

He began flipping his cards one by one, and as they results began to show. He couldn’t help but calm down a bit.

First card: 10

Second card: 10

Third card: 10

He smiled wider, feeling the flow bend exactly as he desired. With his Gambling influence at its peak — he had simply forced the cards into the highest possible combination.

As the cards continued to flip, his results continued to be as he desired.

Fourth card: 10

Fifth card: 10

Sixth card: 10

His voice took on a newfound confidence.

“Looks like we’re going to have ourselves a second game,” he said with a smile.

“Hmm, you shouldn’t celebrate before the game’s over… you know?” Evelyn replied casually, and in that moment, something shifted as the final three cards were revealed.

All this time, Evelyn hadn’t used a single power or decree—she was just being herself.

But at the very last moment, she shifted the flow.

And the Gambler’s final cards, once all tens, suddenly turned into ones.

His final hand: 10 – 10 – 10 – 10 – 10 – 10 – 1 – 1 – 1. Total: 63.

Seeing this, Evelyn chuckled and, without hesitation, flipped all nine cards at once.

At the same moment, she transformed her cards into the highest possible combination.

Evelyn’s final hand: 10 – 10 – 10 – 10 – 10 – 10 – 10 – 10 – 10. Total: 90.

The results lit up in the air between them.

Evelyn: 90 Gambler: 63

The Gambler’s smug grin faltered, freezing in place. His eyes went wide with shock as he stared at his own hand—now nothing but a collection of ones.

“…What…?”

He lifted his gaze to Evelyn, whose serene smile remained unchanged, her composure unshaken.

For the first time in his long and storied existence, the Gambler was confronted with an emotion he had never truly known.

He had been utterly defeated—not through brute strength, nor by the whims of fortune, but by a force that lay far beyond the boundaries of his comprehension.

The emerald barrier encasing them throbbed once before gradually dissipating into nothingness.

Leaning back in his chair, he regarded the two sisters with a conflicted blend of astonishment and grudging admiration.

“…What, the hell, are you two?”
