Chapter 189: Prefiguration

Chapter 189: Prefiguration

Prefiguration… it was but a hint of what would come.

For mortals, one may see dark clouds and think of a bad omen. However, in the world of fantasy, these signs weren’t so subtle… not in the slightest. With the appearance of Ash inside the Erebus Galaxy…

The entire Lower Dimension quaked… or cheered?

One couldn’t quite tell, but if one were traveling through the void between universes or the space between worlds, they would see some of the most magnificent things.

Across the endless black, illusory symbols began to manifest—silent, colossal, and breathtaking.

First came the Hourglass of Eternity…. a towering silver construct suspended in the void, its upper chamber filled with blinding white sand that flowed upward in defiance of gravity, never emptying, never slowing—each grain a universe born, living, dying, and reborn in perfect loop, glowing with soft silver light that refused to fade.

Then the Void Point of Endings…. a perfect black sphere the size of a star system, ringed in crimson fire that burned without heat—light itself bent and vanished upon touching its surface, creating a hole in reality where even the concept of “is” ceased to apply, leaving only absolute, serene absence.

These two symbols hung opposite one another across countless light-years—eternity flowing endlessly upward, endings swallowing everything downward—until the void between them began to twist.

Slowly, majestically, the two illusions drew closer.

The silver hourglass tilted.

The black void point pulsed once.

Then they overlapped—sand pouring into the abyss, fire licking the glass—and in that collision a new symbol was born.

A single, flawless symbol of infinity made of rose-pink crystal, half filled with shimmering white-silver sand looping endlessly within the upper arc.

The lower arc held a perfect black void, swallowing any light that dared to enter.

The halves met at a razor-thin seam of pink flame, neither fading nor spreading—eternity and ending merged, inseparable, with neither overpowering the other.

The symbol hung in the void like a crown, silent and final.

A sign of something not many knew or could understand.

Yet, every being in the Lower Dimension who could sense beyond flesh felt it—some in terror, some in reverence, some in hope.

Far away from the World of Aet, Enya could be seen in her personal realm.

It had been only a few weeks since Vexar left her and since then she’d done what she always did… Search for a way forward… By now such a thing had become redundant as her powers at such a level, not even Arch Eternal Clans could do much with her.

Currently, however, she could be seen staring up at the skies that projected every omen showcasing around the Lower Dimension.

“Impossible… Kent?” She muttered as she could see clearly that a faint signature of Kent had reappeared. However, in the same location the Dragon of Absolute Endings aura was present…

Seeing this she gulped in fear?

“Just what the hell is going on?!” She exclaimed as the Arbiter of Truth was at a loss once again. She began to look deeper as her All-Seeing Eyes shone brightly as she focused on both auras…

However, they began to bleed profusely…

After a moment she was left with nothing but a location…

“E… Erebus Galaxy?!” Seeing this she immediately moved to contact Vexar… but in that moment backlash ensued causing her to faint… No matter how strong one was… Some things just weren’t meant to be looked at too deeply.

Especially when one is not at full strength.

In the Nexus of Concepts, in a domain of fractured realities…

The Dragon of Chaos would usually be sleeping right now. Recently after being stirred awake by Ash comprehending the Law of Chaos, it was active for a few days before going back to sleep.

However, it was now wide awake yet again.

“The Dragon of Eternity? and Endings?” He questioned as he comprehended the omens spreading around the Lower Dimension. Because he was not present there, he could not feel the aura of the two…

So, he watched from afar the moment he felt stirring in the Lower Dimension.

However, as the final Omen showed… even in the Nexus of Concepts… his bloodline shuddered.

“Impossible!” He roared as his overwhelming pride shone.

“The Ending of All Dragons?!”

—–

All around the Lower Dimension these Omens could be seen in perfect light…

From the strongest Arch Eternal Clans… down to the mere Unrated factions. It was a spectacle and while some stirred from seclusion and others continued with their lives…

While all of this was happening the inhabitants of the Upper Crown were not able to relish in such a spectacle or even form their opinions about it all.

They were under siege… by one man, no, by one monster.

For the past 12 hours Ash had been rampaging floor after floor. He took no time to loot, speak or anything—it was only pure carnage…

And on the 30th floor, the floor right above Ash… the realm had already begun to fall into chaos.

The realm of the Mirror Fox Race was a labyrinth of infinite reflections—an endless plane of crystalline mirrors suspended in shifting twilight, where every surface reflected not just the viewer, but every possible version of them: past selves, future selves, alternate paths, hidden fears, suppressed desires.

The ground was polished glass that mirrored the sky above, creating the illusion of walking on clouds while the real sky reflected below as an inverted abyss.

However, despite the usual tranquility of this realm, foxes and other races could be seen scrambling to defend themselves and preparing for what seemed like a war.

The highest peak of this realm was the only part of this realm that was still the least bit tranquil.

There was no one flying in and out, no chaos at all.

Inside of this place two people could be seen…

One was a man who looked to be in his thirties, he had short white hair with one black strand in the front. He had pale skin along with nine tails flowing behind him. Standing in front of him with a look of determination was a young woman, she looked to be no more than 25.

She too had white hair, nine tails, along with fox ears.

“Kaguya… our end is rapidly approaching.” The man said as he began to move his hands into the air seemingly pulling at nothing. However, in his eyes he was moving around runes at a rapid pace.

Kaguya clenched her fist hearing that.

She was the clan’s greatest hope, with a bloodline that had reached the Paragon rank. Currently at the age of 2,100, she had hit the peak of her power, standing at the Mid Cosmic Overlord rank with a stage 3 precept.

“Ancestor… then we fight!” She said as she couldn’t understand why they were seemingly laying down before the battle even begun.

Although they both were Cosmic Overlords… their powers were vastly different. This man he was in tuned with Fate… Destiny… and all things foresight. Though, this wasn’t his specialty… it was just a result of his main ability.

“Who said we wouldn’t fight?” He said while smiling before the last rune locked into place.

The moment it did a portal cracked open.

“However, you will not be…” The man said.

Seeing the portal Kaguya began to inch backwards.

“Ancestor! This is ridiculous… I’ve trained my entire life in hopes of bringing our Clan to a new Height… How can I simply run?!” She exclaimed.

The man knew she would act this way… and as he spoke the other runes he set began to work.

“That’s why you must leave… I’ve found a world quite interesting… Merely a first Era world…”

As he spoke Kaguya’s movements locked into place as she lost the connection to Mana. Then she felt herself being pulled towards the portal.

“From my calculations, the world has numerous secrets… Stay here for some time and the cause of all this will soon show.”

After those words an image appeared into her head, and it was of the person who would cause their doom. And before she could speak the portal closed with her being sent through.

With Kaguya gone, the man breathed a sigh of relief and then his eyes hardened.

BOOOOOOM!!!!!!!

Then he heard it… a sound so loud it was as if the entire realm exploded. As he flew outside the abode, he saw the most massive monstrosity he’d ever laid eyes on. It was… breaking through the very walls of the realm.

As the head pierced through… it roared.

ROARRRRRR!!!!
