Chapter 180: Some Progenitor You are

Chapter 180: Some Progenitor You are

[Seriously Master, the development of your bloodline is not something that should be paused. Especially with a bloodline like yours.] Elysia’s voice sounded in Ash’s mind as Kaelthyr, Sylvie and himself were in an interesting situation.

After forming his Extraction Squad, Ash didn’t plan to hang around whatsoever. He was not here to make friends or even for leisure. Instead, he was chasing something that held the next step to him walking further.

So, for weeks the trio ventured through the untamed wilds of the Middle Veil. With his Stellar Law, The Edict of The One, the trio was able to survive just enough against the tides of beast and even nature.

Taking note of what he was told before… that this realm was in need of order. He tried to use the Law of Chaos to mask their presence along with the realm itself… And to his surprise it worked albeit faintly.

And currently, as the trio sat in a forest filled with wooden golems, plants, and trees all looking to destroy them they relaxed on a massive tree branch with different looks on their faces.

Kaelthyr’s robes were tattered as he had visible wounds that were struggling to heal—deep gashes across his arms and chest still oozing dark blood, the edges blackened from lingering curses that refused to fade.

Sylvie fared little better due to her Primavus regeneration, but even then, she still looked like she just got out of a battle for her life—wings torn in places, feathers singed and matted with sap and ichor, her breathing heavy and labored as faint rose-pink light flickered over her wounds in slow, painful pulses.

Ash surprisingly wasn’t healing at all either—his alabaster skin marred with thin cuts that refused to close, blood drying in dark streaks across his arms and face.

Despite all of this he had a relaxed demeanor as he ignored the glares from Kaelthyr and chatted with Elysia.

’I know… it’s easy to forget things you know.’ He said as he had just finished sending evolutions through his bloodline. Sylvie didn’t need it as she was the most recent Primavus.

Elysia however didn’t allow him to skate away so easily.

[Tsk, it’s more serious than you’re making it!] She said before continuing.

[Are you fine with having your lovers fighting underhanded? Do you want them to experience what Raven went through?]

Elysia continued to berate him as she was one of the only things or people that could set Ash right.

[I understand you wanting them to work for their opportunities… but to what extent will you allow it to go?]

Hearing all of this Ash completely tuned out the world around him as he begun a bit of retrospection.

He knew Elysia wasn’t wrong… but it was still a lot to deal with.

Since his last Nirvana and the loss of Raven he’d been completely focused on power and nothing else. Sure he had some fun with Elara… but a large part of him had been denying his desires.

He hadn’t been living as free as he once did, though he wore a perfect mask constantly hiding his true feelings and thoughts.

He couldn’t deny it—failure scared him a little.

Sure, some might think it was easy for him to rise to a level few ever reached, but on the road to power, it was all too easy to lose your way. To him, if he didn’t push himself to reach the very peak, he feared he’d fail in the one thing that mattered most: protecting those he cared about.

Ash closed his eyes for a moment as he allowed his aura to reach a state of utter calmness—breath slowing until it was barely perceptible, the faint hum of his essence settling into perfect stillness, the chaotic energy of the forest around him fading into distant white noise.

’My desires have always been the same from the start… and that is to do and live anyway I choose to.’ He thought and if one would look at his journey up till now.

They would think he’d been doing just that… but that would be so wrong.

The truth of the matter is that he’d been rushing. He didn’t know why, but he was running a full sprint without truly enjoying this glorious life.

[Tsk, some progenitor you are.] Elysia playfully scoffed at him causing him to smirk.

All of this retrospection may seem useless… but it was always important for one to move with a clear mind without being clouded by useless thoughts. So, as his mind finally cleared he thought to himself and to Elysia.

’Alright… no more straying from the path,” he said as he put on his scholarly voice.

“Ahem… The goal is a distant star, but the journey is the vast night sky—each step a constellation to relish, each breath a line in the song of life itself.”

[Pfft! Did you read that in some book from Earth?] Elysia burst into laughter as she watched him goofing around.

His eyes then shifted to Kaelthyr who’d watched him the entire time noting each change.

He didn’t know what happened, but he could feel as if Ash had become more relaxed and freer?

“My apologies,” Ash began as he truly meant it. The words surprised Kaelthyr and Sylvie… but before they could speak, he continued.

“I rashly brought you guys here thinking it would be an easy walk in the park.” It was true—he knew of the power of the Void Emperors from Elysia’s words, but he hadn’t truly understood it. The power of Concepts was something all Void Emperors wielded, and no Law could hope to stand against it.

If it weren’t for Ash having faintly comprehended the Concept of Ruin at 10% and him obviously wielding desire, the other two would have died weeks ago, and he would have undergone yet another Nirvana.

“You’ve gained some sense, huh?” Kaelthyr scoffed as he shook his head. He was truly pissed… it had been so long since he found himself in a battle where he could do nothing but run and defend.

’This damned disciple!’ He grumbled internally before Sylvie’s voice sounded.

“Whatever, Master. I’m with you through thick and thin,” she said with a smile. “Without you, I’d be dead anyway… so for you, I would gladly die.”

Ash smiled at her words, then stood and stretched.

“Ah, how sweet. My fierce Valkyrie is willing to die for me~” he teased, leaning in to whisper in her ear.

“How sexy~”

Sylvie blushed, but before things could go too far, he chuckled and added, “Don’t worry, no one will die. That being said, I do apologize…” With a wave of his hand, he summoned Primordia—the Progenitor’s blade.

“But I never said I regretted my decision. I was wrong to bring you both along so quickly…”

“Me though? Heh…” His words faded as he soared into the forest skies. As he ascended, Elysia’s voice echoed in his mind.

[Hehe, this is the Master I know and love… Now, let’s work on gaining some Void Emperor’s affection.] She spoke, already aware of what Ash was thinking.

With Primordia Truth activating, Ash channeled the pure essence of Original Desire, along with 10% of the Concept of Ruin. His eyes gleamed brightly as his imagination took flight.

With only the power of Primordia Truth, Desire, and Ruin, he swung his blade upward. A massive arc burst forth, ripping across the entire sky of the Middle Veil—literally. It was like a god had torn the heavens apart, leaving a jagged fissure in its wake.

Through the rift, the Upper Crown wasn’t visible… but something far more fantastical was.

Millions—no, billions—of faceless, multi-winged beings clad in armor, each wielding a sword. They radiated the essence of Primordia Truth, Desire, and Ruin, all standing at the rank of Late Void Emperor, thanks to the Edict of The One.

It was a breathtaking display of what imagination could conjure in Ash’s hands.

Gazing at the sight, he spoke again,

“If this realm needs order… then let it be through the death of every last piece of its malevolence.”

[Master!] Elysia cried out, then added, [You forgot the finishing touch!]

Ash only shook his head, then slashed his blade rapidly until words formed in the sundered sky:

’By Yours Truly… Ash Originat~’.
