Chapter 161: Sylvie, The First Valkyrie
Chapter 161: Sylvie, The First Valkyrie
After recovering from their shock, the three of them stood in the skies of a now empty secret realm.
All the loot had been taken and copied by Ash, along with every life sentenced to death. The air still carried the faint aftertaste of ozone and scorched essence, the void around them unnaturally quiet now that the clamor of battle had been silenced forever.
Floating islands drifted aimlessly in the distance, cracked and broken, their once-glowing forges reduced to dull, smoldering husks. Sylvie stood slightly in front of Ash as she eyed Kaelthyr with cold, protective intensity, her reddish-pink eyes narrowing, wings half-spread in readiness, sword still gripped loosely at her side.
“Master… who is he?” she asked, voice low and edged with frost, the words carrying an unmistakable promise of violence if the answer displeased her.
Being looked at with those eyes pissed Kaelthyr off—he felt the weight of her gaze like a blade pressed to his throat. His scarred face twisted, silver hair shifting as he shot Ash a telling look, brow furrowed in irritation.
This caused Ash to chuckle a bit before he put a hand on Sylvie’s shoulder and spoke, his touch light but grounding.
“Well, he’s my Master… Though he hasn’t taught me jack shit.” Ash said, causing Kaelthyr’s lip to twitch, the older man’s aura flaring briefly in annoyance before settling. He then continued to introduce Sylvie, his tone teasing and warm. “And Master, this is Sylvie… my Valkyrie. Cute isn’t she?”
He teased before his smile froze, realizing the implication of his own words.
“On second thought… don’t answer that.”
Sylvie blushed a bit—cheeks tinting a soft rose-pink—before she burst into laughter, the sound bright and genuine, cutting through the lingering tension like sunlight through storm clouds.
“Wait… I didn’t expect you to have a Master the way you talked when we met,” she said, eyes sparkling with amusement as she glanced between the two men.
Ash’s lip twitched this time as he remembered his arrival in this realm
—-.
About five days ago Ash finally arrived at the World of Aet. He initially planned to quickly copy everything then move on to his goal.
But who would have thought he would run into such a cliché event… saving a beauty in distress.
He moved through the realm, copying item after item without being noticed—blades, elixirs, relics vanishing into his inner universe in silent flashes of rose-pink light. However, on the second day, inside a forest made of white trees whose leaves shimmered like fresh snow under moonlight, he witnessed betrayal.
In a small clearing stood Sylvie Chym, tall and athletic, blood trickling from a wound in her back, staining her flawless white skin with crimson. Her long purple hair was a tangled mess, and the tips of her purple-black horns were chipped. Her usually fierce, radiant purple eyes now dulled with pain and disbelief.
Standing before her were two figures: her sister, Lya—a similar beauty with darker hair and colder eyes—and Lya’s husband, a muscular man. What they all shared were their horns, tails with heart-shaped tips, and small wings.
They were all lust demons…
Lya gripped a glowing staff that radiated a swirling reddish-pink essence. It was a divine-ranked artifact, attuned to charm and desire. Yet, who could have guessed that the moment Sylvie uncovered its existence, she would be betrayed by her own sister?
“You’ve always been too soft, sister,” Lya said, her voice laced with mockery. “Funny, really… someone as lucky as you, yet so trusting and weak.”
Sylvie coughed, blood speckling her lips, her wings quivering. “Luck? What… nonsense—”
Lya’s laugh was sharp and cruel as she cut her off. “Of course you wouldn’t know. I’ve stolen every chance you ever had. But in a few months, our Clan will ascend to Eternal, and I can’t risk you causing trouble.”
Turning to her husband, her eyes gleamed. “Darling… she’s yours. Enjoy her while she still breathes. I’ll take the staff.”
The incubus grinned—fangs glinting—as he stepped forward, hands reaching to tear at Sylvara’s armor.
Her vision faded—world dimming, pain blurring into darkness, betrayal cutting deeper than the blade.
And then—
Ash who had been tracking the very artifact appeared behind the Incubus.
The moment he appeared an aura of pure desire burst forth causing Lya and her husband to freeze completely. Even with them being a race of lust, the overwhelming amount of desire was too much for those who weren’t even Lust Demons with Paragon ranked bloodlines.
[Master looks like we’ve bumped into a new race. They are Lust Demons or better known as Succubus and Incubus. And from my scans, their bloodlines are merely Ultimate ranked… however the one named Sylvie… she’s special.]
’Special? How so?’ Ash questioned as he walked up to the incubus casually with his hands in his pockets.
[You could look yourself you know?] Elysia grumbled before she explained.
[She has the essence of something even I can’t quite identify around her…. but it’s similar to Luck.]
Ash eyes narrowed a bit before he nodded.
’Interesting… well let’s make her the first Valkyrie shall we? In the meantime…. copy everything useful.’
When he arrived in front of the Incubus his hand shot out around his neck and squeezed.
CRACK!
Bones shattered instantly as the incubus tried to scream…. but it was cut short as Ash slammed his face directly into the ground.
BOOOOM!!!!
Lya eyes widened as she struggled to speak.
“Who… who are–”
Her words ended as Ash’s hand shot towards her causing chains of pure desire to wrap around her body. It was so intense that into burned against her skin causing her to fall to her knees.
“I get you’re a succubus and all. But allowing your little sister to be raped is a bit much isn’t it?”
He said in a cold voice before he appeared in front of her. He sent a kick that connected directly into her face sending her flying into the skies.
Before she could even recover a portal appeared behind her as Ash teleported her away from the world of Aet.
He looked towards the incubus and did the same. All though he would like to kill them… it would be more interesting if Sylvie did it herself…
Ash then turned as he knelt beside Sylvie—her breathing shallow, eyes fluttering. He placed a hand on her wound—rose-pink light flowing, healing, stabilizing.
She looked up—vision clearing—and saw him.
“Who…?”
Ash smiled—soft, dangerous, reassuring.
“Someone who hates clichés very much….”
Elysia’s voice chimed in his mind.
[Master, everything has been copied. A Ultimate ranked Lust Demon Bloodline… I didn’t touch the other unidentifiable essence. Not until we know what it is.]
’That’s not all you did, now did you..’ Ash teased as he could already feel that this was no mere Ultimate Rank Bloodline.
[Well… I used your Conceptual Sight and Titles to further upgrade the bloodline with the Laws of Creation, Birth, Love, Charm, Lust… and also the Concepts and Authorities of Desire. This birthed an entire new sub race of the Lust Demons]
[Apex Lust Demon (???) – Intertwined into all Primavus bloodlines. These beings do not feed on existing desire—they birth it from nothing.
They can plant the seed of Original Desire into any being, race, or even inanimate objects, creating craving from absolute void. Seduction is now conceptual—bypassing all resistance, warping reality through want. Pleasure becomes creation—victims consumed by ecstasy birth new power for the Apex.]
—
Ash shook his head inwardly as he sat cross-legged beside Sylvie. Even though she had never met him before, she didn’t feel afraid or cautious—rather, a sense of calm washed over her.
“Did you kill those two people?” she asked, glancing around and noticing they were nowhere in sight.
“Negative,” Ash said with a small shake of his head. “I just gave them a light beating before sending them away.”
Sylvie frowned at his words, but then remembered he had saved her, and she nodded.
“…Thank you for saving me, then.”
Ash studied her for a moment before asking, “What? You don’t want revenge?”
“Revenge? Haha, you make it sound so simple,” Sylvie replied with a glare. “Hmph, I’m just a Mid Stellar Sovereign, while those two were Late and nearly at their Peak. What could I do even in a million years?”
“Pfft!” Ash couldn’t help but laugh. She looked adorable when she was angry. He stifled his chuckles before saying,
“Well, if you had someone like me as your master, you wouldn’t need a million years. Heck, you wouldn’t even need five.” He shrugged.
Sylvie didn’t bother replying; she just gave him a deadpan look, stood up, and began to fly away.
Why stick around to listen to such nonsense?
She was thankful he’d saved her, but now she needed to figure out how to protect herself.
Ash was taken aback as she simply left.
“Well, that’s not exactly what I was expecting.”
[Pfft, and what were you expecting? For her to argue about how ridiculous you were being?] Elysia teased.
“Uhhh, yeah?” Ash answered before morphing into a bird—a small, unique phoenix with white and pink feathers made of fire. He soared through the air, leaving trails of flame, before reappearing in front of Sylvie and shifting back into his humanoid form.
Seeing this, Sylvie nearly fainted.
“You’re… a phoenix?” she asked, noticing how he vaguely resembled one. Except his wings numbered twelve instead of two, they weren’t exactly on fire, and he looked far too strange compared to any phoenix she’d heard of.
“Hell no,” Ash spat, as a drop of blood formed before him.
“Look, I’m offering you a path to power. All I need is for you to follow me. You won’t be forced to do anything or act in any way other than what you want. You won’t be restricted from anything—just come whenever I call.”
Sylvie would have walked away again, but the multicolored drop of blood radiated such power she doubted she’d ever find anything like it again. Even her own bloodline seemed to recoil in fear.
“I… I accept,” she said quickly, even if Ash might be lying. She didn’t care—before her lay a path to more power than she’d ever imagined.
The moment she agreed, Ash floated the blood toward her. It shot into her forehead, and she immediately lost consciousness as a cocoon formed around her.
Ash smirked then they both disappeared into his inner universe.
