Chapter 1155 - The Realm of Aragon

Chapter 1155: The Realm of Aragon

Aragon was a typical Arbiter. All the good and bad attributes of the Arbiters were reflected in him. In fact, there were also some internal conflicts within Arbiter. As far as the current international composite strength was concerned, Arbiter could not compete with Aslan. Even with strong military force, and violence should not be a means whenever there were disputes, as deterrence was insufficient for expansion. Some people in Arbiter were still insistent in their original strategy, believing that staying on the original path was the best option. The Academics were represented by the Warrior Soul College. Their students would not go for overseas studies, and they would not accept exchange students, staying true to Arbiter’s characteristics. For them, it was the path of integration. The Elite Academy X and Aslan overseas students believed that Arbiter needed to learn from other countries, especially to change the rigid international image.

Deterrence was not a thing. However, in this day and age, it would hinder development. In contrast, Aslan would display its power and force on the one hand, and on the other, represent democracy, earning both fame and fortune. In competing with Aslan, the Iron and Steel College of the strong and mighty Arbiter was on par in terms of military strength and armaments. But what was the basis of the competition for armaments?

Money!

Naturally, there was no need for students to be concerned with the current situation, but the policies would be reflected in the students. Presently, the Iron and Steel College was somewhat of a failure. The Van brothers were the representatives of the younger generation of the reformists. However, they were not able to represent the good qualities, having suffered several losses in major international tournaments. How could there be any international influence to begin with?

Many a time, even with good beliefs, failure to achieve something meant it was still a failure.

The source of Aragon’s anger was the decline of his opponent. Mars was once his target, a target that he had to defeat. But now this target was not even worthy of his effort. There were no means for him to vent his anger, and, most importantly, Aragon could not tolerate the failure of Arbiter.

Many were here to witness Arbiter making a laughing stock of themselves. However, as long as he was around, he would never allow it to happen.

Not only was he going to win the title, he was going to marry the princess of Aslan, humbling Aslan forever.

As a mighty empire, any talk of glory would be naught if they could not even protect their own princess.

This was the best chance to strike a blow to Aslan. If Kashawen were to go back on her word, then Arbiter would not take it lying down. Of course, this would not result in war, but Kashawen’s international reputation would be dealt a huge blow. Kashawen had also heavily invested in order to secure a seat in the Parliament. The obvious target was the General Speaker, Ryan. This was an opportunity for Arbiter!

Aragon chose the Overlord mech, a very distinctive model of Arbiter’s mecha. Aslan loved to boast about their skills, but when confronted with a true warrior, they were nothing but weaklings.

Di Maria had obviously done an in-depth analysis of his opponent, but there was still very little information about Aragon. Even after going through the trouble of obtaining the materials on the battle tactics from the Aries Institute, it was totally useless. Aragon was very strong in his physical combat. However, the videos seemed to exaggerate this as he was able to eliminate his opponent with ease. There were absolutely no points of reference from the videos because of the vast difference in skill level between the opponents. Aragon could well be a power-type fighter.

Di Maria was well aware of the Overlord, and would not go easy on his opponent. As a member of the Aslan team, his obvious choice of mech was the runic mech series – the Aslan Holy Light Swordsman, that was officially launched in this competition!

The Runic Holy Light series was the name for the runic mecha. Showcasing the various locations, the new series of Rune Energy Shield rendered the original Mech Energy Shield extremely bulky. At the same time, it also increased the usability of the defence energy. The main objective of this series was to target the special forces of the different nations. In order to own these mecha, they would have to be purchased from Aslan, and they were available for pre-ordering. After this SIG, Aslan would be making huge profits from the sales again.

Technology leaked?

Obviously, this was not a concern. The core technology was exclusive to Aslan and Atlantis. To enhance the opponents’ core combat effectiveness?

This was even less of a concern. The maintenance and repairs were still reliant on Aslan. The Aslan Empire would love for the entire world to use their mecha. Only the heavens knew if there was a backdoor to their technology.

However, for the allies of Aslan, this was even less of a concern for them.

Entered the Holy Light Swordsman, a brand new model, with excellent runic lines. This was a new series of runic mech that combined Atlantean technology with human civilization, capable of mass production. This was still a far cry from the mecha from Elite Academy X. The runic mech from the Elite Academy X had reached a super fighter status, a class on its own. Without a doubt, Aslan had also produced something similar, but they would not mass produce them for sale.

Di Maria’s confidence returned upon entering the interior of the mech. The superior feel of the drive, the real-time speed reaction was also faster, and these were things that could not be matched by the conventional mecha. Although runes were also adopted for this series of mech, the enhancements made included the usability of energy and the improvement to the lines of the mech, making it more appealing. Never underestimate the appeal factor for a mech because it also had a mental effect on the pilots.

The Holy Light Swordsman and the Overlord entered. The Overlord had been in service for several decades. Overall, the Overlord had remained pretty much the same, although several components and the operating system had been upgraded. Compared to the new series of Holy Light Swordsman, the Overlord did indeed appear old-school, and Aslan set the standard for mainstream aesthetics internationally.

There were also many murmurs about this new series of mech among the generals. Sword Shield Rose had already used them. However, the opponents were weak and were thus unable to tell the difference. The differentiating factor between a superior or inferior mech was the tolerance level in high-intensity confrontations. Obviously, Aragon was capable of this.

The Overlord versus the Holy Light Swordsman.

When the battle began, there was no imposing confrontation. Aragon steered his Overlord directly at Di Maria. Di Maria was a little taken aback. Who the hell did this guy think he was?

Coagulating his mental strength, Di Maria took nothing for granted; he could not afford to. It would not be too late to taunt Aragon after he had gotten rid of him. In fact, that would be even better.

An abundance of energy immediately overflowed as the Rune Sword was drawn. He might seem calm, but Di Maria had learned much from the last two battles.

As the Overlord slowly approached, devoid of all mental fluctuations, Di Maria’s mental strength was coagulating.

This was – coagulation!

The energy coagulated to its tipping point. Di Maria’s talent was unquestionable. This was his signature killer move. Once his mental strength had accumulated, it would be unstoppable. This was unstoppable for everyone, even the Earth-rank warriors. But for Di Maria, this was plausible.

This was because time was his ability!

The Overlord was within the range of attack. Di Maria’s eyes burned in fiery glints. All the humiliation would end today.

Slaughter!!

The Overlord froze. This was Di Maria’s Time Quagmire!

Everyone was in shock! This was an instant ability that had reached mid-C strength level. It was the first time that anyone had use this ability instantaneously.

Di Maria had definitely surprised everyone. No one had ever had such control, not even the Earth-rank warriors.

Lin Feng and the others were not overly surprised. Time warp was only possible if that person had thorough knowledge of this high-level ability. Even though he had not yet attained Earth-rank, Di Maria was getting close; it was impossible not to make any improvement.

Time Quagmire was a tricky ability, but it was not impossible to crack. A person had to be psychologically prepared to crack the time quagmire. Was Aragon prepared?

Could he do it instantly?

Apparently not. This, Lin Feng was sure of. However, Di Maria was able to do it, but it was his time suppression that was masking the reaction of energy strength. It needed preparation time nonetheless.

Almost at the same moment the Overlord was trapped in the quagmire of time, Di Maria had already taken flight. The Rune Sword radiated brightly. Under the influence of the runes, the energy displayed a spiral vigour which was a level higher than that of the conventional laser swords, and did not require much effort from the pilot. Once there was spiritual blast, the runes would be activated naturally. It was a small trick that could create maximum casualties.

Boom…

Why did he not resist?

The Time Quagmire was of no use at all?

How was this possible?

Wang Zheng’s pupils turned into a subtle gold. This was interesting. Forming a “circle” around the surface of the Overlord and isolating the mech from the outside world. The power of this Ability X came from the communications between the spiritual power and the universe. However, Aragon had reversed it. He had used the mental strength to form a circular isolator. This meant that any Ability X that came within range of the Overlord would be cut off, unless the opponent’s mental strength was stronger than Aragon’s.

This was a killer move when targeted at any kind of controlling Ability X. However, this was not an Ability X. It was a method of mental strength control.

This alone led Wang Zheng to suspect that Aragon probably possessed the Earth-rank 3 comprehension capability. Earth-rank 1 was the application of details. Earth-rank 2 was the derivation of powerful killer attacks. Earth-rank 3 was akin to returning to the origins, requiring control and understanding of the mental strength.

In other words, Aragon could completely defeat his opponents based on pure basic understanding!
