Chapter 33: KELLY- 5TH DIMENSIONAL

  • Next Chapter

Aaron watched as the green-haired boy made his way to the other side of the podium, where the newly recognised Awakened were instructed to gather.

After congratulating him, the Butler casually resumed the assessment.

"Number three."

And so, the ceremony continued.

One student after another stepped forward, placed their hands on the orb, and awaited their fate.

More Natures gradually emerged.

The majority of those who managed to awaken possessed First-Dimensional Natures, their results accompanied by the orb’s characteristic cream-coloured glow. A handful of others were fortunate enough to obtain Second-Dimensional Natures, causing occasional waves of excitement to ripple through the crowd.

However, the overwhelming majority received nothing. Mundane humans. Untalented.

The same disappointing declaration followed countless students as they returned to their positions with dejected expressions.

As the ceremony progressed, the initial excitement gradually gave way to exhaustion. The students had been standing on the vast grassland for hours, and the seemingly endless succession of names was beginning to take its toll.

Yet, nobody dared leave. After all, their turn could come at any moment.

Before Aaron knew it, several hours had passed.

Then, the Butler’s voice rang out once again.

"Number 500!"

Aaron’s attention immediately shifted towards the podium.

A familiar-looking girl with flowing blue hair and captivating azure eyes stepped forward. Her appearance alone was enough to attract several curious glances, but what stood out even more was the confidence with which she carried herself.

There was no hesitation in her movements.

No visible nervousness.

She simply walked towards the orb with measured, purposeful steps, as though she had already made peace with whatever result awaited her.

Aaron recognized her immediately.

Kelly.

The daughter of the powerful General Finn had told him about. She eventually arrived before the orb and casually placed her palm against its surface. Then something happened.

The orb suddenly illuminated.

A brilliant white radiance burst from its surface, bathing the immediate surroundings in an intense glow.

For a brief moment, the entire crowd fell silent. But before anyone could properly process what they were witnessing, the white light abruptly changed.

It turned black.

Not a dim shade of grey.

Not a mixture of colours.

Black.

An unnatural darkness spread across the orb’s surface, swallowing the light that had previously emanated from it.

Everyone gasped.

Aaron’s eyes widened.

’Cream for First-Dimensional, silver for Second-Dimensional, and white for Third-Dimensional. But what the hell is black?’

He stared at the orb, his mind racing as he tried to make sense of the unexpected phenomenon.

Meanwhile, the Butler merely smiled to himself.

Turning towards the assembled students, he announced with unmistakable delight:

"She’s a special case. Don’t worry about her. She possesses a Fifth-Dimensional Nature."

The grassland erupted.

An enormous uproar swept through the crowd as hundreds of students turned towards Kelly with expressions ranging from admiration and envy to disbelief and outright shock.

Some looked as though they had just witnessed something beyond their wildest imagination. Others couldn’t even hide their jealousy.

Kelly, however, remained completely unfazed.

She stood before the orb with a blank expression, seemingly indifferent to the commotion she had caused.

"A Fifth-Dimensional Nature? That’s impossible!"

"Maybe the orb malfunctioned!"

"She was always strong. It was expected!"

"Shut up! This was never expected!"

"I hope I can join her party!"

Countless comments filled the air.

Aaron listened to the surrounding conversations before muttering quietly to himself.

"She really is special."

Beside him, Natasha had both hands buried in her hair. Her eyes were wide open, and her mouth hung slightly agape.

"HOW?! HOW IS SHE FIFTH-DIMENSIONAL?!"

Aaron glanced at her before giving a small shrug.

’She’s the General’s daughter. Maybe it’s genetics...’

He didn’t say it aloud, however. There was little point in speculating when he barely understood the circumstances himself.

Meanwhile, the Butler’s excitement had suddennly become increasingly difficult to contain.

"A Fifth-Dimensional Nature!"

His voice rang across the grassland.

"The first to ever exist since the inception of this world!"

He paused, staring at Kelly as though she were the most valuable treasure he had ever laid eyes upon.

Then, with an unusually respectful expression, he addressed her.

"Please, remain with the others on the platform."

Kelly gave a slight nod.

Her expression remained detached as she turned away from the orb and calmly made her way towards the gathering of newly Awakened students.

She paid little attention to the numerous curious gazes following her every movement.

Some of the students on the platform appeared just as shocked as those watching from the crowd. A few even seemed uncertain about whether they should approach her.

But Kelly simply ignored them.

She had caused an unprecedented commotion, yet she walked away as though nothing particularly remarkable had happened.

"Number 501!"

The Butler’s voice sounded again.

Aaron turned his attention towards the podium, expecting to see the next candidate.

But the moment he caught sight of the person stepping forward, his breathing unconsciously stalled.

A tall, muscular young man with blond hair had emerged from the crowd.

His build was imposing, and his confident strides made him stand out even among the other students. Aaron’s eyes narrowed.

Damien.

His older brother.

For a brief moment, the surrounding commotion seemed to fade into the background. Aaron watched intently as Damien briskly approached the orb.

Unlike the earlier candidates, his brother showed no visible signs of nervousness. His movements were confident, almost as though he were merely completing an ordinary task.

He eventually stopped before the orb and placed his palm against its surface.

Silence descended once again.

The orb remained still for a brief moment.

Then—

A brilliant white light emerged from beneath Damien’s palm.

Aaron’s eyes widened.

For the second time in less than a minute, he found himself staring at an unexpected result.

A white radiance!

The Butler’s expression immediately brightened.

A hint of satisfaction resurfaced in his voice as he announced gleefully:

"A Third-Dimensional Nature! A generational talent!"

He paused, seemingly unable to hide his excitement.

"Two wonderful Natures in a row!"

The Butler stepped forward and bowed politely towards Damien.

"Please, proceed to the others."
