Chapter 130 Head Of Two Families
Zeshion clapped his hands loudly, dispersing the awkward atmosphere in the air. He then smiled brightly before telling everyone that his talk was over.
“That’s it for my matters. Now that I know it’s actually Will who became the System’s Crowned Successor, I don’t need to rush out and search anymore. Then, go ahead with your talks.”
As Zeshion spoke, he once again took out his popcorn and drinks. Although it seemed inappropriate, the others let it slide, pretending not to see his actions.
Fortunately, half of our topic was answered by the talk just now. Like why I ended up contracting with Wan Li, Wan Er, and Ying Yue through the system, or if they could get out of the contract.
Goddess Vermeil just sighed and closed her eyes, waiting for Lady Luo to speak first.
Her earlier anger was no longer visible in her expression, but there was this indescribable air surrounding her. Her eyes were staring at the table, but she seemed to be gazing at something far away, in deep thought.
Her furrowed brows unfurled as she looked towards me, her face serious with no traces of a smile anywhere. She took a deep breath before saying her piece.
“Seimei Family Head, Will… Please take Ying Yue’s hand in marriage.”
“Pffft!!!”
God Zeshion did a spittake at the sudden turn of events and was cackling with laughter. Goddess Vermeil glared at him, making him lower his voice as he wiped the tears off the corner of his eyes from laughing too much.
“But she’s my cousin…?”
Flatly refusing would be rude here, so I pointed out the obvious. However, Lady Luo’s face didn’t even flinch as she nodded her head.
“Yes, being cousins is still within the acceptable range.”
Is this another test from her like the first time we met…? No, her gaze was too serious for this to be a joke.
“If you really are the son of my sister, Meng Ruo, then it should be fine. After all, we’re only half-sisters.”
I stared at her, who had a blank expression. Although she didn’t show it on her face, I could see the flow of her energy getting greatly disturbed. This pattern shows anxiety and impatience.
Is she worried about me trying to usurp the Luo family head position as the rightful heir? I don’t plan to do that, though. Being the Seimei’s family head is already too much work for me; why add another?
However, the next words she said made me hesitate greatly.
“With how she is right now, having her ancient God bloodline activated, she’s no longer fit to be the Luo’s heir. And we don’t have any heirs besides her, so this is a significant problem for us.”
“If you take her hand in marriage, you who also have the Luo bloodline inside you, then our clan could still continue.”
Lady Luo then waved her hands. At her signal, Wan Li and Wan Er took a step forward and took off their yukatas. They were stripped down to their underwear, revealing their luscious bodies and the captivating and fluffy tails that spread wide behind them.
Their expressions were blank, but a faint blush could be seen on their pristine cheeks. It’s obvious that they’re embarrassed.
“If you agree now, then I’d even add these two as a bonus. It’s not a bad deal, right?”
“…”
I feel like she’s making me look like some sort of lascivious family head hungry for women. Although it’s an appealing proposition—an extremely appealing one at that—
“Sorry, but I refuse.”
Honestly, if it’s just the Wan sisters, then I may have agreed. However, with Ying Yue added to the mix, who tried to kill me literally, I don’t feel safe leaving her by my side.
“Is that so?”
Lady Luo lowered her head slightly, clearly feeling down from my refusal.
“Then, I’d need to create another heir before I lose the ability to… Won’t you help me with that instead?”
She crossed her arms and squeezed, emphasizing her mountains that didn’t lose to Ember’s. I gulped at the sight on reflex, but quickly shook my head.
“You’re my aunt, aren’t you? What are you even saying?!”
At the corner of my vision, I could see Zeshion placing his hand on his chin while nodding, going, “Not bad, not bad.” Then, he suddenly smiled and looked at me before talking. 𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘭.𝑜𝘳𝘨
“As an observer, I suggest you take the family head position of the Luo too.”
Everyone looked at him, who suddenly supported what Lady Luo was saying.
“Believe me, it’ll be to your advantage in the near future.”
He added.
I was confused a bit since he interjected at that weird timing.
“Do you mean I accept the marriage with my cousin? Or to do the deed with my Aunt? Either way, isn’t that just…”
At this, Zeshion leaned against the table, his hand against his cheeks, as he threw another kernel of popcorn into his mouth.
“No, I mean, basically, you’re the next in line for the Luo family head position, bloodline-wise. Just like with the Seimei, why don’t you just become the head as is?”
Hearing that, the scales fell off my eyes. Right, marriage is only required if I’m an outsider and want to enter the Luo family. But if I am the true successor, then there’s no need for such things.
“Lady Luo could directly pass the position to me!”
Looking in her direction, I could see that Lady Luo was similarly surprised. The idea of simply passing the head position to me was so uncommon that it didn’t even cross her mind. It’s not usurping the position if she willingly gives it away!
She pondered for a moment before nodding her head.
“I don’t have a problem with that. With you at the head of two families, we can just designate you as the supreme leader and let me manage the Luo as your deputy.”
She nodded her head before standing up abruptly.
“If it’s like this, then I’d need a week to prepare for the passing of the position to you and for the merging of the two families. I’ll be taking Ying Yue with me first, to have her checked at least.”
“Yes, ple—”
As I was about to agree, Zeshion interjected once more. He had an awkward smile on his face, as if he just remembered something that he forgot to say before.
“Ahh, you can’t take Ying Yue, Meng Yao. As one who is under a Servant Contract, she can’t leave Will’s side for long. At most, a day; if longer, then the contract would weaken her until it endangers even her life.”
I slowly turned to God Zeshion. My eyes must be looking like a dead fish’s by now.
“TELL US THAT EARLIER!”
I shouted.
