Taming my Monster Girl Harem from Scratch

Chapter 118 Ember’s Rampart (1)

“That was one hell of a battle~! It was so quick and intense, I held my breath for the full duration!”

Vermeil said as she wiped the imaginary sweat off her forehead.

“Contender Fang was so powerful, our Wan Er couldn’t do anything against her the whole fight!”

The audience was cheering, despite not really understanding what occurred in that short minute. If we’re talking percentages, then less than 10% of those watching managed to observe the entire battle as is.

Of course, those 10% were none other than powerful tamers of the Seimei family. To them, Fang’s battle wasn’t that hard to watch, as their regular speed was even faster than Fang’s top speed.

I turned to look at the other bench, where the other team was, and Ying Yue appeared to be scolding Wan Er. She looked like she was about to cry as she was scolded thoroughly.

“Then, without waiting for the fire to fade, let’s welcome our next group of fighters!”

Vermeil suddenly announced it, cutting her speech short. I guess she noticed Wan Er getting scolded and wanted to quickly move on to save the poor girl. It seems even god tamers have soft hearts too.

“From the Luo Family side, we have tamer Wan Li with her first tamed monster, Xiao Bing, a Frost Fairy Queen, and her second tamed monster, Huan, a Frost Wolf Alpha!”

Wan Li walked towards the stage. Floating beside her face was Xiao Bing, who grew in size. She was now about a foot tall, which was a great increase compared to before.

To her left, a new face was walking gallantly. It was a wolf about a meter tall with light blue fur, which looked like icicles from afar. It was releasing a faint white mist, showing just how cold it was around it. It had fangs of a deep blue color, which supposedly could freeze anything it bit in seconds.

Vermeil flew around a little before announcing the fighter for our side.

“Then, from the Seimei, we have another lone contender! The Baroness of Infinite Changes, Ember!”

As she was called, Ember walked confidently towards the stage. Her appearance, which completely looks like a human now, made others wonder what sort of monster she was before. Nobody ever considered that Ember was once a teeny tiny slime that could only bounce around.

As the two sides moved closer to the center of the stage, Wan Li smiled and greeted Ember.

“Hey there, Ember. Can you still remember me?”

Wan Li’s expression seemed friendly, but then it turned to her default cold look, which honestly didn’t match the pink-colored qipao she was wearing. .

“I was the one who defeated you last time.”

Ember, who heard her words, smiled sweetly. She wasn’t perturbed even a bit as she replied.

“Of course, I remember you. Master promised to win against you the next time you fought, right? Then you’d better prepare to lose, for I will win.”

Ember probably knew that Wan Li was just provoking her. However, there’s no need to do that, as Ember was planning to fight with all her power from the start.

Ember once lost against Xiao Bing. It was her literal first loss ever, making it an unforgettable moment for her. Now, she finally had the chance to recover from that loss.

But doing that the normal way isn’t exciting enough. Instead, Ember declared it for all to hear.

“You have [Physical Damage Nullification], right? Then, I’ll be giving you 5 minutes. During those 5 minutes, if you managed to make me move even a single step, I’d surrender.”

Wan Li’s brows creased. She didn’t know if it was a trap, a provocation, or Ember’s true thoughts. Either way, if she wasn’t planning on moving, then Wan Li would just take advantage of it the best she could.

“5 minutes? I wouldn’t even need a minute to move you outside the ring.”

Wan Li responded arrogantly.

Two sides, one smiling warmly while the other had a cold demeanor, stared at each other fiercely.

“Then, now that both sides are ready…”

Vermeil moved up once more, going as far as possible to be off the battlefield.

“Let the second match begin!”

Wan Li didn’t waste a single second and quickly ordered Xiao Bing to freeze the stage. In a split second, the whole stage, along with the ground around it, became covered in bluish-white frost. The speed of the encroaching ice improved several levels from before; it was almost instantaneous.

However, the ice didn’t manage to cover the small space around Ember. Still, with a gentle and warm smile, Ember waved her hands around as she made one full circle, erasing the ice in her immediate vicinity.

Wan Li went wide-eyed when she saw this. She couldn’t figure out what Ember did to remove the ice field. It was no surprise, though, as Ember was using Void Energy to completely eliminate the Ice Energy from the field. And other than God Zeshion, no other tamer should have a tamed monster with Void Energy anymore, making it a completely unknown type.

Wan Li gritted her teeth, deciding to continue with her initial plan despite Ember not succumbing to the icy field.

The Frost Wolf Alpha, Huan, howled. The ice around him moved, as if alive, and morphed into ice sculptures that looked the same as the wolf did. The ice clones then ran across the stage and pounced toward Ember.

A claw was swung, and it landed, but no damage was done.

Ember’s immunity to physical damage got upgraded a step further, making her invulnerable to physical attacks. It was as if Ember herself had [Physical Damage Nullification] too.

Wan Li couldn’t believe her eyes. She didn’t think that Ember would be this powerful after such a short time. The vision of victory was slowly fading from her sight.

Ember simply smiled. As promised, she didn’t move a single step the whole time. However, her opponent was feeling insurmountable pressure coming from her. Ember isn’t a simple slime anymore; she’s a rampart.
