Chapter 113 Possibility Of Time Travel
It took me quite a while to completely absorb Igni’s skills. Not only are they all complex, but their numbers were so immense that I felt dizzy just recalling them. However, most of them are skills that I can’t use.
If I select the ones that I could use, then it would be the entire [Flame Clad] series, various types of wind buffs, and one footwork skill. The rest were impossible for me to use, like the flame tail or the fire breath.
“Igni… you have so many skills; why do you only use a few of them?”
I honestly can’t understand. With her skills, I could think of thousands of combinations and even some killer combinations that she could easily use. However, the answer she gave was something I should’ve expected.
“Well, it’s hard to use other skills while using [Flame Clad], so I focused on the ones that I could easily use with it.”
I almost forgot, but it’s usually hard for tamed monsters to chain skills. It’s not a problem of ability, but more of knowledge. They lack the creativity to create a seamless chain of attacks that can’t be interrupted by the enemy.
To think that I didn’t notice she had such a weakness… I fail as a tamer.
“From now on, we’ll be doing special missions for the three of you for one full month!”
I stood stock still as I voiced out my words like a drill sergeant.
“Ember, your specialization is focused on creation, invention, and support. Practice the skills related to it and try to learn new skills while at it.”
“Yes, Master! I’ll do my best!”
Ember excitedly replied, earning a nod of approval from me.
“Good! Next, Fang! You specialize in attacking but lack defense. Try improving your stealth skills along with your observation skills. Learn from Chiyome here. Chiyome!”
I tapped Chiyome’s shoulders, who should be hiding from view. As I did, she suddenly appeared like a visual glitch. The three girls were surprised to see Chiyome appear beside me, as they couldn’t pick up even the smallest of her traces.
“Chiyome, I assign you to be Fang’s mentor for stealth and espionage! I expect great things from you!”
“As you wish, clan head. If it’s something even a useless shadow like me could do, then please don’t hold back.”
Seeing her kneel before me, I nodded with a stern expression before turning to Igni.
“Good, Igni! For you, train to chain your skills. I will give you a few pointers for a few combos, but you need to develop your very own chained attack before the month ends!”
Although Igni was already strong enough without using combinations, not using one and not having one differ greatly. It’s better to have a card up one’s sleeve than to always fight with all your cards in plain view.
“Y-Yes, my Lord!”
Igni, although confused, saluted me.
“Chiyome, ask Guren to separate the bedrooms of the four of us for the whole month.”
I asked Chiyome, who was still kneeling down on the floor, and she promptly nodded. Then, I turned to the three girls, who had serious expressions filled with both uneasiness and expectation.
“I hope that you all can surprise me with your improvements in a month. Then, everyone is dismissed!”
“””Sir, yes, sir!”””
After that, the four of them went out of the room, leaving me alone. Well, technically, there were still about 4–5 people around, hidden behind the shadows, but let’s just ignore it for now. Rather, don’t they need to go to the toilet? They seem to be staying here all the time…
From the storage ring, I took out a book. It was one of the books that we got from the underground empire before, a part of the library that was tens of thousands of years old.
It was my first time actually reading the book, as we had no time to rest after leaving the underground empire. Heck, in just a week, I was on the brink of death more times than not!
Now, with our safety guaranteed, it’s the perfect time to read.
The first book I pulled out didn’t have a title. It was a black book that was about an inch thick. It wasn’t too intimidating to read, as the pages weren’t as thick as a dictionary, so I quickly opened it and skimmed the information written inside.
…
“This is…!”
After reaching the middle of the book after many hours, I saw something that I couldn’t ignore. It was a combination of a special apparatus and a technique that, if executed properly, should enable one to travel back in time!
I continued reading through, identifying the required materials and skills for it.
Metals like iron, copper, and orichalcum were peppered all over the place, while rare metals like gold and mercury were required in the unit of tons. Just that alone was enough to give me a headache.
But the biggest problem was the technique part. It required the one to execute the technique to be a god-level that could use both time and space elements. Furthermore, it can only be executed by one person, not two.
“The space element is currently under God Zeshion’s tamed monster Zeta…”
I hope that the “time and space” element is a unit and is different from the plain “space” element. Otherwise, this would mean that I would need to wrestle the god seat of the space element from God Zeshion.
“This is seriously an impossible task…”
I can’t help but sigh.
I closed the book and stretched. It was already midnight by now, so I decided to sleep. Although I was worried about the three girls, I trust that they will become stronger just as planned.
“Tomorrow, I’ll need to activate the taming system of another thousand tamers…”
I sighed. The ordeal wasn’t really physically tiring, but rather mentally taxing. Especially the part where I need to hold hands with burly guys. Although the occasional female tamer could recover my sanity a little, the horde of guys were literally wearing down my nerves.
“… Let’s just finish this all tomorrow, once and for all.”
