Taking the Mafia to the Magic World

Chapter 1134: In Search of the Strongest Devil!

Chapter 1134: In Search of the Strongest Devil!

Some time later, Vicente left his palace when he sensed Larissa’s return, whom he was waiting to leave for Lothur Ritter. Kong had already come back and was cultivating in another part of the palace, having reached the middle of the 1-Star of the Transcendent stage.

The dragon hadn’t been so successful as to make a breakthrough, as Vice had predicted. But Larissa had improved a lot and was now at the 2-Star of the Sorcerer stage, a phenomenal progress for someone who, until a few weeks ago, was only at the Grand Magus stage.

Not only did Vicente notice Larissa’s arrival, but so did Kong and Rex. The two left where they were waiting.

The Flaming Lion had reached the 1-Star of the Sorcerer stage in his weeks on Hell.

Rex was much stronger, even though he hadn’t ventured far from his master. The chances in Hell were incredible for anyone, while within Vicente’s domain there were opportunities for subordinates, with chances to learn and even cultivation resources.

Vicente’s domain had previously belonged to Devil Abby Miller, who had gained her position and strength through the inheritance of a former Devil who had almost reached the Absolute level. There were still several ’inheritances’, so to speak, around this ancestor’s old domain, part of them being in the territory that now belonged to Vice.

Anyway, when the three came across Larissa, this woman with long white hair felt the difference from her companions, noticing that Vicente and Kong were closer to advancing, while Rex had maintained the proximity of cultivation between him and her.

“Vicente, I’m sorry I kept you waiting,” she said with a smile on her face as she approached without fear of criticism. “You took your time, and I thought it would be worth my while coming out.”

“Don’t worry, you really need to get stronger.” Vicente agreed good-humoredly, before adding, “But now it’s time to leave. Your old acquaintance’s territory is a long way from our position and we’re still going to make stops. We’d better leave now.”

Everyone was aware of the distance to Lothur Ritter’s domains, given the investigations of Vicente’s infernal minions.

“And what about that business with the successor… Cough… With that Senior Minos? Did you sort that out?” She asked, ignorant of Vicente’s clone.

Vicente didn’t want to go into details and only confirmed he was ready. “The last few weeks have been enough for me to get an arrangement ready for it. When the senior returns, I’ll know about it and I’ll talk to him about our affairs.”

“That’s great!”

“Now we’d better go.” With a wave of his sleeve, Vicente made a chariot of darkness materialize next to his companions, also forming a wolf of darkness in the position of the horses.

Rex joined Vice’s infernal guardian creature while the rest of the group entered the vehicle. The surrounding minions and undead watched the team’s departure in silence, each subconsciously aware of the presence of Vicente’s clone in the palace basement.

The moment Vicente’s carriage set off, the clone left his state of meditation, which he had been focused on since his creation.

’He’s finally gone…’ The clone looked across the palace, seeing his original self leaving. ’Well, I don’t know when Senior Minos will come to me. But I’d better get ready.’

“All of you…” He opened his mouth, drawing the attention of the guardians and undead. “From now on, this place is a tomb. Hide your positions and your movements. I’m going into seclusion, and I don’t want any of you getting into trouble.”

The underlings obeyed the clone’s orders, recognizing him as a master on a par with the original Devil who had just left. Now they would move to ’close’ the domain to outside existences and preserve the state of discretion that their leader wished.

Meanwhile, Vicente and the others left the territory his clone was now in control of. Their carriage was fast enough to cross continents like Polaris Realm in minutes. But given the size of Hell, it would take them quite a while to reach their goal.

Still, they were rapidly approaching the edge of the region that Vicente knew best in Hell, the war zone, formerly the domain of Abby Miller, now part of several hellish factions, some still without sovereigns.

Vicente smiled silently as he felt his clone’s experiences reaching him, realizing the order of seclusion and discretion the clone had issued, but also the clone’s return to cultivation.

Vicente couldn’t strengthen himself with the mana cultivated by his clone. But he continued to feel the clone’s experience nourishing his own understanding.

’Unfortunately, he’s weaker than me. I already have part of his understanding. But given how much longer he’ll be in Hell than me, it’s possible that he’ll catch up with me in terms of cultivation and eventually even surpass me.’

Vicente reasoned about the possibilities ahead, considering how he had to travel through the dimension and then return to Anicane while the clone could remain, cultivating in seclusion.

Of course, the clone could eventually have to deal with problems and thus be disturbed or even killed. But until something like that happened, the chances of him advancing in cultivation faster than his original self were not low.

While Vicente considered the possibilities for growth with his clone’s experiences, even thinking about creating a second clone, Larissa and Kong talked about their experiences. The two had conquered land in Hell for themselves, adding regions to Vicente’s domains, which had naturally increased his power indirectly in the previous period.

But a Devil’s advancement with the deeds of their subordinates could never compare to what these individuals conquered for themselves. Kong and Larissa reaped the best rewards, and both were looking ahead to their next opportunities.

Hell could be very encouraging. The fact that they could grow by hunting down competitors and increasing their domains was as good as the positive effects of a new drug. The ’addiction’ to the idea of hunting down enemies and getting new domains was quite common in new aspiring Devils.

But the two were controlled by their possibilities, much more concerned about the bigger picture than their individual situations. They needed to strengthen themselves because they would certainly face powerful enemies in the not-so-distant future!

“… I’ve heard there are some inheritances in the richest region of Hell.” Larissa said, as she spoke about the information she had obtained in her domains. “They say that in the past, the first Devils were all Transcendents in the Absolute power range. They realized fate would be difficult for their descendants and heirs, so they created legendary legacies throughout the dimension to help keep their hope alive.”

“Oh? Did you get such important information?” The white dragon asked, having already read some important passages in his domain and in Vicente’s palace. But he hadn’t gotten anything that profound.

What Kong and Vicente did know was that Hell had been born after a major event in the distant past, and part of its functions had been damaged in the process. The Nine Paths’ situation was related and their goal was intrinsically linked to the dimension’s past. However, details of such heritage and the Devils’ ancestors remained mysteries to them.

Larissa smiled at them both before continuing. “I don’t know if what I’ve discovered will help us contact our planes again. But reaching one of the heritage sites will open doors to the legendary Absolute level! Fortunately, I located a probable ancestor inheritance site!”
