Chapter 1495: When Legends Stand Together

Chapter 1495: When Legends Stand Together

Hovering in the sky, Thirteen looked at the Supreme Commander of the Infernals with a defiant look on his face.

The current situation made Thirteen glad all his senses had been dulled. Those two moves from earlier should’ve caused him great pain, for using the power of the Skip God to kill Pseudo-Gods pushed the rules of combat to its limit.

It was only a matter of time before the law of causality caught up to him. But for as long as possible, Thirteen wouldn’t let himself ‌look weak. Everyone’s eyes were on him, and the denizens of Solterra’s morale depended on him.

Earlier, the upper echelons of the Infernal could still laugh and mock him.

Now they were silent.

His show of force made even the remaining Pseudo-Gods raise their guards. They even activated their defensive artifacts, hoping they wouldn’t suffer the same fate as Arkael and the Moth Lady, Noctyra.

If only they knew Thirteen could no longer use the same move for a few hours, they would have attacked him by now.

But it didn’t matter. The fact remained that he had killed two Pseudo-Gods within two minutes. They couldn’t afford to look down on the puny human whose figure was covered in their colleagues’ blood.

Paimon had watched everything from start to finish. She covered her lips with her hand, tears streaking down her beautiful face.

’Camazotz, Thirteen has avenged you,’ Paimon said. ’You didn’t die in vain.’

Even the members of the Order of the Apocalypse, who were watching the battle from the safety of the domain, couldn’t help but give the teenage boy a nod of approval.

If they had someone like Thirteen as a friend, they also would not hesitate to risk their lives for his sake.

While everyone was still reeling from the shock of what had happened, the Supreme Commander of the Infernals finally spoke.

“You’re truly not all talk,” Azhuriel said. “She was right to warn me about you. Now that we’re on on the subject, she wants me to tell you something. You are fated to a tragic end, for it is the price you must pay for breaking the balance set in place.”

Thirteen scoffed. “My only regret is that she’s not here, so I can’t personally give her a piece of my mind.”

As if to make his point, he swung his staff to the side, ridding it of the blood stuck on its surface.

Truth be told, Thirteen noticed he could no longer move his body properly. He might not feel anything, but he knew he had pushed his body to the limit.

If any of the Pseudo-Gods attacked him now, he might not have the strength to escape their blows.

Azhuriel sneered. Unlike the other Pseudo-Gods, he could see Thirteen’s current condition perfectly. The young man’s bluff wouldn’t work on him.

“Kill him now!” Azhuriel ordered. “He can no longer fight after paying the price for killing two of my Warlords!!”

His words snapped the Pseudo-Gods out of their daze, so they attacked without mercy.

One of them raised their hammer and swung it down at Zion with full force. The one with a bow sniped him from the side, targeting his blind spot.

It was a perfectly executed combination attack, leaving no room for mistakes.

Thirteen could only choose between dying from a hammer’s strike or an arrow’s piercing. The teenage boy tried to evade both, but he was drastically slower than he used to be.

The metallic sound of clashing weapons spread on the battlefield. But instead of seeing their target die, a scene that made them frown unfolded.

Someone blocked the hammer with their bare right hand and caught the arrow with their left hand.

“I couldn’t watch my best friend getting bullied anymore,” Sun Wukong said coldly, his tone reeking of killing intent. “If you want to fight, pick someone your own size, you punks!”

Sun Wukong threw the arrow to the archer who fired it, and the latter dodged to the side.

As for the one holding the hammer, the Monkey King grabbed his staff from Zion and swatted him away like a pesky fly.

He then faced Thirteen, and without any warning, shoved a jug of wine into the young man’s mouth, forcing him to drink it.

Thirteen had lost his sense of taste. But the moment the wine entered his mouth, he immediately felt a burning sensation that went down his throat.

A few seconds later, he felt as if his entire body were on fire.

“Can you feel the heat now?” Sun Wukong grinned. “That wine is made from the peaches of immortality. It won’t make you immortal, but it can easily fix everything else.”

One by one, Thirteen’s senses returned.

His sense of taste.

His sense of touch.

His sense of smell.

His sight.

His hearing.

All of them returned, and for a brief moment, Thirteen felt his brain overloading from the pain his entire body was going through.

As this happened, Sun Wukong stood before him, protecting him from any and all harm that came his way.

This was not the first rumble he had with heavenly beings. He had been fighting all his life, and regardless of who came, he would just smack them with his staff.

If one came, he would smack one.

If two came, he would smack two.

If a dozen came, he would smack a dozen.

If a God came, he would smack them too!

“Are you fine now?” Sun Wukong asked the teenage boy on his back when he noticed the latter had finally calmed down.

“Yes,” Thirteen replied. “Thank you, Wukong.”

“You’re welcome, but we’re still in a pickle,” Sun Wukong replied with a fearless smirk on his face. “Here’s a question for you. Which one do you want to fight?”

“Do you even need to ask?” Thirteen pointed at the Supreme Commander of the Infernals. “I’m fighting him. You deal with the small fries.”

“Got it, partner,” Sun Wukong laughed. “This feels like old times.”

“Indeed.” Thirteen replied before exchanging fist bumps with the Monkey King.

Suddenly, golden chains erupted from Thirteen’s back, acting like wings with their tips pointing at Azhuriel.

He and Sun Wukong exchanged another glance before the two of them charged toward the Supreme Commander of the Infernals, intending to end this war once and for all!
