Chapter 1185: I Don’t Want To See This Kind Of Ending [Part 1]
Three days had passed since the war had ended.
Dealing with the aftermath of the war was no less hard than fighting in the war.
The Artemians who surrendered were placed under the joint supervision of the Jinns and the Wanderers, with General Norton, now Erasmus’ Death Knight, taking charge of his former comrades.
The Jinns and the Wanderers had formed an agreement, and the continent was split into two parts.
A third of it was given to the Jinns, which they would turn into their own domains.
Since the Cygni Continent was big, the different factions forming the Jinn Army were somewhat satisfied with what they got.
Of course, one of the reasons why they readily accepted this arrangement was because Zion had asked Cranky to join the final meeting and glare at anyone who was opposed to the agreed conditions.
Cranky had a very bad temper, and was now a Celestial.
He really didn’t care what the Jinns and Wanderers had agreed upon. But Zion had requested it before he fainted, so Cranky decided to see it through till the end!
The Artemians temporarily lived inside Casimir City, where most of the Wanderers also resided.
Thirteen was currently sleeping in the most guarded location of the Central Government, with Cranky taking residence in the same place as his friend.
The peace that everyone sought for finally came, but many still waited for the Supreme Commander of the Alliance to open his eyes.
Princess Xynalia entered the Headquarters of the Central Government in Casimir City to visit Zion.
She had just finished dealing with the aftermath for the Velmoria Kingdom.
Many succubus also died in the war, but many more survived to tell their tales.
As such, Princess Xynalia, Princess Laventia, and Lady Ristella pacified their people and moved close to Casimir City, which the Wanderers had assigned to them.
Since their faction had always sought out neutrality, the higher-ups of the Wanderers deemed fit for them to live close to human society.
Of course, there was one more reason for this—to be straight to the point, the succubus race was made up by beautiful ladies.
Simply put, there were many Wanderers who voted for them to stay close to Casimir City so they could form “good relationships” with the ladies from the Velmoria Kingdom.
Of course, Roland was among those people who wished for the succubus to be near human society.
However, only a handful still knew that the Hero of the Hero Party was now in a relationship with the beautiful succubus princess of the Velmoria Kingdom, Princess Laventia.
“How is he?” Princess Xynalia asked Princess Aracelle, who had come to meet her at the lobby.
“Still sleeping,” Princess Aracelle replied. “Can you really help him wake up with your Dreamwalker Ability?”
“I don’t know, but we have nothing to lose if we try, right?” Princess Xynalia replied.
Princess Aracelle nodded in agreement, and led the princess to where Zion was.
There were many guards stationed on the way, and they had to undertake at least six inspections before finally arriving at their destination.
Such was Zion’s importance to the Wanderers that they placed his safety above all else.
Of course, the final line of defense was none other than Hans, whose room was right next to where his Young Master was sleeping.
When they entered Zion’s room, Princess Xynalia couldn’t help but blink once, then twice, at the sight of the young man laying on a very big bed, which was enough for fifteen people to sleep comfortably.
Shana was currently lying on the bed and holding onto Zion, while Erica and Sherry were in the kitchen, preparing their lunch.
Tiona was in her snake form, and had turned into an armlet on Zion’s left arm, staying close with him at all times.
The Saintess opened her eyes when she sensed Princess Xynalia enter the room.
They had all agreed to let the succubus princess try her hand at waking up Zion, or at least see what their lover was dreaming about.
It had been three days since Princess Xynalia had seen him, and her heart ached after seeing how peacefully he slept.
All of his injuries, both internal and external, had already been healed completely by Shana’s and Princess Aracelle’s Holyband Divine Magic.
But his consciousness still hadn’t returned, which made them suspect that his spirit might be wandering somewhere.
“Please, make him return to us,” Shana said before kissing Thirteen’s forehead and leaving his side for the time being.
“I’ll do my best,” Princess Xynalia replied before lying beside the teenage boy, whose body was surprisingly warm to the touch.
After looking at his sleeping face for nearly half a minute, the succubus princess wrapped her arms around Zion and pulled him close to her.
She then pressed her forehead against his as she activated her Dream Walker ability.
The world around Princess Xynalia twisted the moment her Dreamwalker ability took hold.
Her surroundings melted into waves of color before solidifying into a vast plain under a gray sky.
A chilling wind brushed against her skin, though it wasn’t wind from reality.
She looked around and called softly, “Zion…”
Her voice echoed unnaturally, as though the very dream resisted her intrusion.
Then, she heard the faint sound of clashing steel in the distance.
Without hesitation, she walked toward it.
Each step dragged at her feet, as though the dream itself wanted her to stop.
But Princess Xynalia pressed forward.
Along the way, she saw dead bodies of people.
But calling them dead people didn’t seem right.
They looked like humans, but their body parts were scattered all over the place, with some of them emitting electrical sparks like robots that had been sliced in half by a sharp object.
Then, in the distance, she saw someone.
A young man with short black hair, holding a sword, glanced in her direction.
That person was none other than Zion, and yet, his gaze didn’t feel like it belonged to a human or even a Jinn’s.
The young man’s gaze was cold, unfeeling, and indifferent, which made Princess Xynalia feel as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over her head, making her shudder uncontrollably.
“Zion?” Princess Xynalia asked, but the young man turned around to continue walking, ignoring her completely.
Gritting her teeth, the princess decided to run after him, fighting the fear and anxiety rising in her heart.
“Zion, wait!” Princess Xynalia cried out as she grabbed hold of the young man’s wrist. “You’re Zion, right?!”
The young man paused before turning around to face her.
Those same, cold, and indifferent eyes held her gaze, making her feel as if she was looking at something alien, and void of life.
“I don’t know who Zion is,” Thirteen replied. “But you may refer to me as Thirteen.”
The young man then pried off the young lady’s hand from his wrist and continued walking.
“I don’t know who you are or why you came to this place, but I will appreciate it if you don’t get in my way. I have something I need to do, and I don’t have time to deal with the problems of others.”
Princess Xynalia gritted her teeth. Although the young man referred to himself as Thirteen, she believed that he was none other than Zion.
However, her curiosity about what was happening in the dream won her over, so she decided to just follow behind the young man, who was about to have a life and death battle with his Father, who was none other than the System God.
