Chapter 1649: Provocation

The land demon king slashed downward, unleashing the power imbued by the king path and the demonic energy.

Noel used his Divine Slash to counter this power. Due to the combination of his element, his power had gone beyond what the land demon king could unleash.

But this was not the end of this attack. When Noel used his power to stop this attack, it meant he couldn't use his power for other things.

The sky demon king approached him from behind.

Noel could release a bit of his energy to block it, but the sky demon king tore it apart with his talons as the energy from the talons hit Noel in the back.

"Gah!" The land demon king and Noel endured some pain.

The land demon king failed to stop Noel's attack, so he got injured internally for taking Noel's attack with his physical strength.

On the other hand, Noel couldn't muster enough power to stop the two demon kings at the same time, not when they came from different directions.

Noel raised his left hand and formed a burst of flame afterwards. The sky demon king immediately flew away to regain some distance.

Both demon kings knew that they wouldn't be able to defeat Noel individually. They couldn't help but remember what happened in their battle against his ancestor, Alexander Ardagan.

The land demon king was almost dead under Alex's sword when he pursued him like a madman after killing Margaretha.

The sky demon king who helped him was also severely injured, even though they managed to get away.

This time was no different. Even with the king path, the land demon king was not strong enough to defeat Noel.

That was because Noel was a man who had surpassed his ancestors.

Hence, they could do only one thing. They would join forces and attack him at the same time.

Noel would have to focus on one of them at a time, and the others could injure him.

He could deal damage to one of them, but the demon kings could also deal the same amount of damage to him.

Since there were two of them, as long as they took damage proportionally, Noel would go down before them.

This sharing of damage was what made this fight even more troublesome for Noel.

However, he wasn't like Anna. He couldn't unleash a strike with twice the power. So, he could only muster an attack strong enough to handle one and used the remaining one to lower the amount of damage the other demon king could deliver.

As expected, even with this strategy, it took a toll on his body. Fortunately, since he had enough spiritual energy, he could use 100% of his power at all times without worrying about exhausting it all.

Normally, in a fight, they would have to manage their energy consumption to last very long until their enemy showed a gap in their defense. But with Noel's energy reserve, he could unleash all his power at all times, which would deal the maximum amount of damage possible with every attack.

He then used the Force Control to recover from the damage mid-fight. Unfortunately, the demon kings also had their regeneration. So, all three of them would definitely last longer than normal fighters.

Noel's body had been covered in injuries after fighting for so long. Some wounds had closed up, but more wounds were being made. His pants had been dyed red from all this battle.

On the other hand, the land demon king and the sky demon king suffered the same number of wounds combined, but their conditions were much better due to their sharing strategy.

Noel had managed to lead them a bit further away from their battlefield so that no one would harm the humans.

Now that he had gone far enough and fought long enough, Noel could finally change his strategy.

"It looks like both of you are quite exhausted already. Your attacks are losing strength." Noel chuckled.

"There is no need to provoke us, Noel Ardagan. Your condition is much worse than ours. Let me see how long you can last." The land demon king snorted.

The sky demon king squinted his eyes. He was calm enough to notice that Noel had led them away. "Even if you have lured us away, it won't change the outcome of this war. Once we're done with you, those humans will still die. So, cease your unnecessary struggle."

Noel chuckled. "Unnecessary struggle? This is not unnecessary. Both of you fought… No, both of you ran from my ancestors one thousand years ago. It looked like you didn't even learn anything from that embarrassing moment?"

"If you want to provoke me, you've succeeded!" The land demon king raised his sword. It was different this time. The land demon king actually combined the king path and the demonic energy into one instead of letting the two powers support each other. "Taste my Demonic King Path."

The sky demon king paused for a moment. On the one hand, Noel had been pretty quiet the whole time, so why would he suddenly open his mouth?

Although he couldn't figure out his intention, he believed Noel was starting to lose his ground, so he tried to mess with their minds.

"Well, I will play along then!" The sky demon king flapped his wings. The wind this time was different from before. The wind formed two tornadoes as the demon king combined them together, which doubled their power. "Die, Noel Ardagan."

Facing two strong attacks, Noel couldn't help but smile. This was what he had been waiting for. Since there was no need to hold back anymore, Noel finally activated his Mind Separating Method.

This was the technique he got from Melissa. It split the user's mind into two, allowing them to do two things at the same time.

Noel channeled his energy into both hands. On the right hand, he unleashed his Divine Slash to fight against the land demon king's power. On the left hand, he let his freezing fire compete with the sky demon king's ferocious wind.
