But they had indeed seen the damage that a single airship could cause. And Noel had lent multiple airships.

The demons reached the fortress as the first clash began.

The fortress didn't last long, nor did the people. Yet, the hope was still there.

The airship didn't just come to kill some demons. They came to scout the area, informing the situation.

"We have been attacked by two massive armies. The first one is hitting us from the south. The second one is hitting us from the west, and this army has split into three smaller groups. According to our estimate, the demons are in the millions."

The protectors couldn't help but furrow their eyebrows.

Prince Ramuer frowned and asked the protectors. "The south… Are they planning to enter us or use us as a passage to hit the Zaecuria Kingdom from behind?"

"I believe both." Hulbert's expression turned solemn.

Masa suddenly stepped forward. "Your Highness. With your permission, I would like to go to Rean City."

"!!!" Hulbert recognized his intention. "Masa. You…"

"I have told you before, Hulbert. Now that all hope is lost for me, I wish to die honorably as a warrior. But before I die, I want to drag the demons down with me."

The people fell silent. Suddenly, one by one, the people started to step forth.

"I'm willing to go with Masa and kill the demons."

"I'm willing to die for the Atracaeca Kingdom."

Prince Ramuer's expression turned solemn. Hulbert, on the other hand, explained, "We have to split our forces into three. We will have no choice but to ask the Demon Banner Army to handle one group at the furthest north. The rest will be taken care of by us. We might have lost our grand protector, but we have to maintain our dignity even if it means our death."
