Chapter 1567: Moon Goddess Asking for A Discussion?

As Rose requested, Noel went around his territory to inspect the defenses personally. If the people knew that the inspection was satisfactory even to their lord, they would feel much more assured.

They would believe that even if the demons came, they could withstand their attack.

This was Rose’s original intention, and Noel raised their morale even further by doing a lot of other things.

With his speed as a spirit king, he could travel basically to every corner of his territory in less than twenty minutes.

Including the inspection, he managed to get one city done in one and a half hours for one city. In the end, he finished the inspection within two days.

Then he moved to the three cities she specifically requested. Tristan’s city could be said to be the most fortified.

The second city was Howard’s city. Howard was the epitome of a military man. Everything he had done was by the book.

All the fortifications made it look stable. However, unlike Tristan, he didn’t know whether this city could withstand an ancient demon.

However, it looked like Howard should have no problem withstanding an ancient demon for a few hours. During that time, he could have sent out reinforcements to handle it.

Last but not least, Incetta’s city. Because he was the one dispatching the people to take care of this city, it was fortified by the same thing as his city.

Since he had used three days to take care of all the matters in his territory, Noel finally visited the Moon Temple’s headquarters.

Because it was an official visit, they welcomed him warmly.

While walking across the hallway, Saintess Layla said, "Thanks to you, the Moon Temple has become extremely busy, Grand Duke."

"Hahaha." Noel chuckled. "Isn’t that good? If the good people are busy doing good things, we should rejoice."

"That’s why I’m grateful to you." Saintess Layla smiled. "Thanks to your vehicles, we can reach far and wide. Besides, with your airship, we can reach a place we would have had a hard time reaching before.

"You should have known about the Moon Temple’s reputation before, right?"

"Is that the reason you came here?"

"Yes." Noel nodded. "The war against the demons is approaching. It will be a war on a scale that no humans have ever witnessed before. Just thinking about it gives me chills."

"The demon kings..." Layla’s expression turned grim.

"Yes."

"Don’t worry. Our Moon Temple would like to support you in this matter. We have agreed to station 5 paladins in the Greenwood Kingdom, while I personally position myself in your city."

"Thank you. Maybe I should donate again." Noel grinned.

"When you say it like this, doesn’t it sound like a bribe instead of a donation?"

"Really? I guess I can’t donate half a million gold coins, two airships, and 10 trucks..." Noel looked down as if he had been wronged.

Noel just rolled his eyes. But Layla seemed to have a surprise for him.
