Chapter 1534: Unexpected Arrival

"Master. Something is wrong! They are preparing something!" Rui gave a warning out loud.

When Noel's sword strike obliterated the demon king's strike, everything became clear. They were indeed preparing something.

After dodging the residual power from his sword strike, the demon king and the supreme devil released their energy to the fullest.

Then, they extended their hands toward each other as the energy that flowed through their arms started to fuse together.

Even though the two were not the same person, they were still demonic humans.

The demonic human had no element. They only had demonic energy.

They couldn't fully master the king path because of this, but because their foundation was the same, their energy could fuse together.

"You're goddamn right!" The supreme devil glared at Noel, holding a grudge that had lasted for over a thousand years.

The joint energy erupted, creating a burst that was much more powerful than anything they had seen.

Noel couldn't help but furrow his eyebrows. 'Ardagan.'

[That kind of attack can be cut down without overexerting yourself, but what are they going to do with that level of attack is the question.]

Noel definitely couldn't deny it. He could cut down this kind of attack, but he didn't know the true purpose.

These two definitely knew that their joint attack was still not enough. After all, the supreme devil had seen the power of the true spirit king one thousand years ago, and the demon king was once a demon of that level.

"Die!" The two of them shouted in unison. They threw a massive ball of energy toward Noel.

Obviously, since Rui was still in front of them, she would be the one getting hit first.

"..." Noel clicked his tongue. Something was wrong, and he could feel it.

However, it didn't mean that Noel planned to back down just from this.

So, Noel chose to strike.

Responding to his decision, Ardagan lent him his spiritual energy.

[Draw the fire element from the scabbard.]

"I know." Noel muttered. The black flame soared from the scabbard and flowed to the sword before creating a spiral of black flame.

Noel took a step forward and swung his sword, using the Divine Slash one more time.

The sword strike flew and split the massive energy ball in two. The flame then erupted, burning both sides of the energy ball.

Unfortunately, that massive amount of energy couldn't be burned so easily.

Without Noel unleashing his full strength, he wouldn't be able to destroy the attack completely.

As a result, the residual energy from the balls hit the ground on both sides, destroying a massive area.

"..." Noel squinted his eyes. That kind of power might not rival his Divine Slash, but it certainly could destroy a third of the hill in front of him.

The combination of their power had reached a level that couldn't be ignored even for a spirit king like him.

"Master." Rui landed next to him with the body. "My apologies."

"No. You did well. Thank you for saving the hero. Secure it." Noel assured her.

"Secure it? Do you think we have been doing nothing this whole time, Noel Ardagan?" The supreme devil laughed. "We have been expecting you."

"Of course, I know that." Noel obviously knew it the moment they didn't run away after getting attacked.

They definitely had been waiting for him, but the big question was, 'Why?'

Why were they waiting for him? What made them so confident that they could do anything to him?

It was true that Noel was heavily injured internally. If he overexerted himself, he would be too injured to fight a demon king, but these two were still not on that level.

"!!!" Noel suddenly came to a realization thanks to that thought. 'Demon king?'

That was right. There was one entity that could defeat him.

And that might be the way for the enemy to beat him. That was why they were waiting for him.

Without hesitation, Noel raised his hand and formed a small fireball that transformed into a firework the moment he shot it into the sky.

Boom!

The supreme devil and the demon king thought that fire was supposed to hit them, so they were ready to avoid it.

However, they were wrong. It was a signal.

"What did you do…" The demon king and the supreme devil knew that Noel had never done anything meaningless. If he sent such a thing to the sky, it would mean something.

As if realizing that the plan had been compromised, the cloud suddenly split.

"!!!" Rui couldn't help but raise her head. The energy in the sky was so powerful that even someone like her could feel the pressure from it.

Noel's doubt had been fully answered. When he looked up, he saw a humanoid demon. The body looked like a human, but the head was that of an eagle. It had a pair of huge wings on its back. Its hands and feet were like talons.

Noel knew he couldn't hold back anymore. If he worried about overexerting himself here, he might die.

The icy flame gathered on the sword as Noel swung his sword up.

Divine Slash.

Seeing this, the humanoid demon flapped its wings once, creating a torrential wave. It was so big, as if the tornado had just descended from the sky.

The ice froze the tornado while the latter shattered the ice. However, the flame took advantage of their clash to burn the energy from that tornado.

Unfortunately, the tornado was much bigger than Noel originally expected. It overwhelmed his Divine Slash and fell upon him.

Noel leaped back, carrying both Rui and Spencer behind.

Even though it was residual energy from the clash, the wind actually pierced through the ground so deep that water started spurting out of it.

Noel used his spiritual energy to protect Rui and Spencer from the residual shock wave.

'What? Master lost?' Rui widened her eyes in shock. She knew that the humanoid demon used the momentum to produce an even stronger tornado, but the fact that Noel lost to him meant one thing.

The one coming from the sky was none other than a demon king.

The Sky Demon King had arrived.
