Chapter 1488: Fire and Ice Runic Burst

Chapter 1488: Fire and Ice Runic Burst

"Everchanging Emotion Sword Style?"

Everything clicked in his mind. It was a sword style he had created in the past. Although he passively used it, the power had fallen off due to its inability to keep up with the king path.

However, the Everchanging Emotion Sword Style might actually be able to become the bridge to all his power.

When he made the Everchanging Emotion Sword Style, he created 10 emotions to represent each type of attack: fear, anger, shame, contempt, disgust, guilt, distress, interest, surprise, and joy.

But he could divide them further into two groups: the feelings that targeted other people and the feelings that moved away from others.

The former contained anger, contempt, disgust, interest, and joy. The latter contained fear, shame, guilt, distress, and surprise.

By dividing them into two, they would act as a channel bridging the Everchanging Sword Style to other powers Noel had.

Noel had five powers. The first one was none other than his original ice element. He put disgust and fear into this power. The disgust was directed at his enemy to produce a chilling power, while the fear reflected the coldness from others, making one isolated from others.

The second power was Ardagan’s swordsmanship. Everything other than the Everchanging Emotion Sword Style belonged to this category.

Although it might look like the Everchanging Emotion Sword Style was also a swordsmanship, it was fundamentally a different swordsmanship.

The Everchanging Emotion Sword Style was a swordsmanship that came purely from Noel’s thought. He created it because it was the most suitable for him. On the other hand, all his sword skills, including the Divine Slash, were created without him in mind. In other words, Noel had to adjust everything by himself.

The two emotions he inserted into this power were his contempt and surprise. The contempt originated from his swordsmanship, which had already gone beyond most people. It might even be called arrogance or confidence. He added surprise because he was always taken aback by how far he had grown. The sword was the only thing he received when he was exiled to the Demon Banner Army after all.

The third power was obvious. It was the Ardagan’s flame. This flame contained the strongest power, even overwhelming Heisk’s ice. After all, this flame’s origin was the Spirit God’s absolute flame, according to Ardagan.

Hence, Noel put anger and shame into this power. He needed the flame to remain explosive, like that of a burst of anger. At the same time, it needed to be docile and remain controlled. Although it was the worst way to make it, Noel shamed the fire so that it would be more reserved.

The fourth power was runes. All his runes were controlled by interest and distress. The interest came from the fact that runes were a new thing they could explore in the future. The distress was the complicated feeling that he had, thinking about what kind of consequences would land on him if he failed in making a new rune.

Last but not least, his spirit body. Yes, he wasn’t a full human anymore. He was half-spirit, half-human. As a result, his body was fundamentally different from the rest of the world. This, too, had become his power, from the way he utilized his spiritual energy to his very existence.

Joy and guilt were probably the most suitable emotions to express his feelings toward his spirit body. Thanks to this body, he was able to survive certain death. At the same time, he felt guilty for not being able to stay human.

The system might be one of his powers, but it was actually something related to his body. As a result, the system was also included in this last power. The medals, the titles, and other utilities influenced his body and mind directly, so there was no reason for them to be separated.

These ten emotions connected all those five powers, one input, one output. With the Everchanging Emotion Sword Style as the bridge, Noel could see the path to combining all his power.

He originally thought that the scroll was used to fuse the two elements for a certain period, but that wasn’t the extent of the scroll’s power.

Milinda left behind this scroll to be her future successor. Alexander might pursue a different path, but Noel definitely walked the same path as her.

The moment the bridge was constructed, Noel could feel a fundamental change in his power.

The most noticeable one was his fire and ice elements. The two elements gradually merged. Ardagan’s overbearing flame was contained by the shame emotion, which fused with the ice, creating an icy blue flame.

He gathered all of that energy into his sword, channeling it through the bridge to meet with the swordsmanship.

"!!!" The demon king was stunned as he rushed to Noel and struck him.

Noel gritted his teeth and hit his sword, but blood actually leaked out of his mouth. "Kh."

"You won’t be able to reach that stage!" The third prince released an even stronger power. The energy looked like it was coming directly from the demon’s original form residing in his body. "Haaaaa!"

Noel was being pushed back. He still hadn’t mastered this power, so the third prince’s interference caused severe internal damage to his body.

Noel could feel his energy seeping out of his body.

"Die!" The supreme devil shouted as he came from the opposite direction.

"This is my last gift to you, my dear child." The flame figure placed her hand on Noel’s back. She poured every bit of energy left from the scroll.

"!!!" Noel suddenly sensed the incoming energy strengthening his links to all his powers. The messy bridge that almost crumbled due to the demon king’s attack was patched, allowing Noel to finally utilize that power.

He raised his other hand as a layer of ice formed in front of his palm. Multiple runes appeared in front and behind the ice layer, blocking the supreme devil’s attack.

"What?!" The supreme devil widened his eyes in shock. He had poured everything he had, but it looked like he was too late. Still, this power... He should have gotten this power. However, Alexander had never given it to him. "This power... It should have been me who wielded that power!"

Noel stomped on the ground, forming a massive rune underneath them.

"!!!" Both the supreme devil and the third prince jumped away, almost getting trapped.

But this was nothing but a distraction. The next thing they realized, Noel had put both hands near each other.

An ice and a flame were clashing with each other, creating an unstable power.

"Not good! Get away!" The demon king shouted.

"It’s too late." Noel smiled. Spiritual Energy Dispersion Rune suddenly formed around the energy, causing it to be even more unstable. "Fire and Ice Runic Burst."
