Chapter 120: Something Is Watching Them

After hours of travel, they finally arrived two kilometers away from the central delivery hub.

Looking at the sun hidden behind the foggy sky, Lian Tianci picked up the walkie-talkie placed on the car’s dashboard and pressed the talk button.

"Attention. We have entered the outer ring of the central delivery hub. Stay sharp."

Two seconds after he spoke, responses came one after another.

"Roger that."

"Yes, Captain."

"Got it."

Placing the walkie-talkie back on the dashboard, Lian Tianci glanced at the driver and said, "Stop the car two hundred meters from the main entrance."

"Yes, Captain," the driver responded, then slowed down.

A few minutes later, the convoy arrived two hundred meters outside the main entrance.

Stepping down from the black military armored car, Lian Tianci waited for Gu Lingjian’s team and Ye Xuan’s team.

Seeing the two teams approaching him, Lian Tianci spread out the map of the central delivery hub and gestured for Gu Lingjian and Ye Xuan to look at it.

Pointing to three locations on the map, he said, "Remember these places. They are the only ways out of the central delivery hub."

Gu Lingjian and Ye Xuan nodded.

Lian Tianci then traced a route on the map and continued, "My team will take this route. There is another safe route, but the number of zombies there is lower than along our route."

Looking up from the map, he said, "You two can decide whether to join my team or go check the other route."

Ye Xuan glanced at Liu Yun for a second, then replied, "My team will take the other route."

Gu Lingjian’s main mission today was to get close to Liu Yun and find a way to obtain the medicine. Hearing that Ye Xuan had chosen the other route, he quickly made his decision.

"Captain Lian’s team has more people and ability users, so I will go with Young Master Ye." After saying that, he looked at Ye Xuan and asked, "Young Master Ye, can we join your team?"

Ye Xuan stared at him for two seconds, then nodded. "Mhm."

Seeing that they had made up their minds, Lian Tianci rolled up the map.

Handing five communication devices to Ye Xuan, he explained, "Young Master Ye, these are military communication devices. I’ve already set up the signal. You guys can use them to communicate with my team and Captain Gu’s team."

"Understood." Ye Xuan accepted the communication devices, then distributed them to his brothers and Liu Yun.

After they put the communication devices on their ears and turned them on, Lian Tianci said, "We will gather here again in four hours."

Gu Lingjian and Ye Xuan nodded, then Lian Tianci added, "Good luck, everyone. Come out safely."

After saying that, he pressed the communication device against his left ear and commanded, "Move out!"

With that, they split into two teams while a group of soldiers stayed behind to guard the vehicles and Ru Jianxiao.

While Lian Tianci and his team led the ability users toward the first route, Ye Xuan and Gu Lingjian led their respective teams toward the second route.

"Stay close to me," Ye Xuan whispered to Liu Yun when they sneaked into the central delivery hub.

Clenching her wooden stick tightly, Liu Yun nodded, then followed the team closely.

As soon as they stepped into the central delivery hub, goosebumps suddenly covered Liu Yun’s body. Feeling a chill run down her spine, she shuddered as cold sweat broke out on her forehead.

Noticing her tense body, Ye Xuan looked at her and asked with a hint of worry in his deep voice, "What’s wrong?"

Liu Yun didn’t answer him but scanned the surroundings vigilantly. Except for ordinary abandoned buildings in the distance and desolate roads covered in sand and bloodstains, she didn’t see anything strange.

Ye Xuan stared at her for a few seconds, then looked at his brothers and said, "This place is too quiet. Keep your guard up."

Hearing this, the other three nodded at the same time.

As they moved deeper into Section B of the central delivery hub, where packages were sorted before being transported out, Gu Zhenwei suddenly said in a low voice, "Brothers, why do I feel like this scene seems familiar?"

When he said this, Qiu Sixun shot him a warning look and whispered, "Shut up. Don’t you know that you have a crow’s mouth?"

The second he asked this, not only Qiu Sixun but also Ye Xuan, Liu Yun, and Lan Zuancheng shot him warning glares.

When Ye Xuan saw this, he ordered in a low voice, "Stop."

Following his order, Liu Yun and the others quickly followed Gu Lingjian’s team’s example and formed a circle with their weapons ready.

After a long moment of observation, Ye Xuan asked, "What’s wrong?"

Gu Lingjian kept his eyes on the surroundings, then replied, "I feel like someone is watching us."

The second he said this, Liu Yun’s heart sank. She swallowed hard and thought, ’Grass! So it’s not my imagination?! Someone is really watching us?!’

Liu Yun was filled with panic and fear, but she still kept her eyes wide open as she scanned the silent surroundings.

Thankfully, they had arrived during the daytime. Except for the corners and small alleys between the buildings, they could see everything clearly.

A few minutes passed in silence before Gu Lingjian finally said, "Let’s keep moving. That person must be waiting to see what we’re going to do here."

They only had four hours to kill zombies, so wasting time here was not an option.

"Alright," Ye Xuan responded, and the two teams maintained their formation as they moved vigilantly toward Section B.
