Chapter 66: 66:You only knew Cassian and Raymond

Rita shivered, her legs turning weak instantly as her eyes met Nova’s gaze. "What... why are you staring at me like that?" she stuttered, taking a step back, her heart pounding wildly in her chest.

Nova didn’t speak, but her gaze alone was enough to drop her desire to end Rita’s life with one move yet looking at her, she felt like Rita wasn’t worth dying at her hands.

Rita’s legs shivered, she couldn’t bring herself to look into Nova’s eyes anymore. "I... I’m sorry," she muttered, running back to her seat.

Nova rolled her eyes and placed her head back on the desk, continuing her sleep.

"Did... did I see what just happened right? The former school beauty apologized!"

"If she didn’t apologize, do you want her dead? The new student was definitely debating whether to break her arms or legs. Even I feel a chill from her gaze."

"True. Such beauty is hard to approach. Seems like we can only watch her from a distance and dare not approach her."

"Indeed."

Rita clenched her fists tightly, staring at Nova with red eyes. "Just pray you are from some kind of powerful family like everyone said, otherwise I will return today’s humiliation back to you tenfold," she thought.

The teacher entered with a single textbook in her hand and noticed Rita. Her brows knitted immediately. "Do you think this class is for jokers, Rita?" she commented coldly.

Rita froze. "It’s... it’s not like that, Miss Grace, I... I was..." She couldn’t finish her statement before Miss Grace cut her off.

"Get out!" she ordered coldly.

Rita remained silent, her fists clenching even tighter as she gave a respectful bow, then left the class.

"Unserious fellow," Miss Grace commented in a low voice and walked to the desk. Putting the textbook she was holding onto the desk, her eyes scanned the entirely silent class, then noticed Nova.

"We have a new student?" she asked gently, staring at Nova.

Nova didn’t move an inch. Silence took over the whole class, and Nova didn’t seem to be interested in speaking.

Miss Grace’s brows knitted slightly. "Alright, I believe with time the new student will get along with everyone," she said, resting her gaze away from Nova. "Let’s start this morning’s class," she commented.

GK Private Bar... VIP Room Number 4.

Prince sat on the chair, calmly sipping a cup of tea, one of his legs crossed over the other with a pleased expression on his face. However, the air in the room was thick, suffocatingly heavy with a quiet tension.

It was the kind of stifling atmosphere that felt like a lit match hovering dangerously close to a powder keg. A few feet behind him stood the brown-haired lady, rigid as a guard awaiting an order, a single brown file in her hand. She barely dared to breathe.

Opposite him sat a young, handsome man who looked exactly like Cassian, he was Cassian’s twin brother, Lucian. Taking a sip from the cup of tea on the table, he stared at Prince, a low smile appearing on his lips. The silence between them felt almost violent, an unspoken battle of wills hanging over the porcelain teacups.

"Prince called me here. I believe it’s not just to enjoy tea with you alone," Lucian said.

Prince chuckled, the sound barely piercing the heavy atmosphere. "Of course not," he replied, raising his hand slightly. The lady standing a few feet behind him stepped forward, passing the long brown file to Prince.

Prince took it and slid it across the table toward Lucian.

With one finger, Lucian stopped it just in time. He took it, opened it, and brought out the document inside, reading it without changing his expression.

"You are interested in this project, aren’t you? Do something for me, and the project is yours," Prince said calmly.

Lucian smiled, putting the file back on the table. "What do you want?" he asked calmly, staring at Prince.

"According to the recent information I gathered, Raymond is living in your brother’s house, isn’t he? I want you to bring him to my underground bar. Is that possible?" Prince replied.

"Don’t try to make me a scapegoat. I’m aware you have been eyeing my brother’s power for a long time. This Raymond guy you are talking about seems to be quite close to my brother. What are you planning?" Lucian asked, not looking surprised in the slightest.

"Feeding you too much information is not good for you, Lucian. Also, I know your relationship with your brother is very poor. Don’t act like a caring brother in front of me, I know you’ve always wanted his position as Don."

Lucian chuckled loudly, the sharp sound shattering the room’s tense silence. "Just with this project alone, do you think I will turn against him? Moreover, aren’t you too confident in me? In terms of power, I’m no match for Cassian. If I were a match, I would be the Don, and not him."

"Well, I just want you to bring Raymond to my underground bar. I didn’t ask you to go and face your brother."

"What’s the difference? Raymond is not only close to my brother’s wife, but she seems quite protective of him, just like she is to Cassian. Isn’t that inviting double trouble from Cassian and his female devil wife just to please you?" Lucian smirked, staring fixedly at Prince. The temperature in the room seemed to drop several degrees at the mere mention of her.

Prince paused slightly, then continued sipping his tea. "You seem to know something," he commented calmly.

Lucian rolled his eyes. "On the woman I’m interested in, I know a lot. But it seems you don’t know anything about her. You only knew Cassian and Raymond, but I guess you are missing Alan," he replied.

Prince paused. "Alan," he repeated, his eyes turning bloodshot instantly. The murderous aura radiating from him spiked, suffocating the air in the small VIP room. "What is he to her?" he asked coldly.

Lucian’s smile widened. "You are all-powerful, why bother asking me?" He put down his teacup and slid the file back to Prince. "If you have something better to offer, you can call me," he said and stood up. Just as he turned his back to leave, Prince’s voice echoed behind him.

"You should stay away from Nova, or it won’t be good for you." The warning was laced with an undeniable, deadly threat.

Lucian chuckled and put both his hands in his pants pockets. "Stay away from her? I’m not even close to her yet... Oh, right. Don’t mess things up. If that female devil finds out you are after her men, trust me, you won’t know how you died," he replied, and left.

Prince clenched his fists even tighter, his knuckles turning white.

"Boss, this Lucian guy, I think..." Before the brown-haired lady could finish her statement, Prince stopped her by raising a hand.

"Let’s watch him first. But... I’m not done with these two yet, and another one has popped out. Investigate that Alan guy for me. I want every detail about him," Prince ordered.

"Yes," the brown-haired lady replied with a bow.
