..... The Washroom .....

Anah appeared beside Nova. Folding her arms together, she stared at Nova. "I say, why bother to dress like this? At least wear something matching," she commented.

Nova smirked, washing her hands. A cool, calculating tension radiated from her, sharp and dangerous in the quiet washroom. "According to the information on the Nina girl they killed, Edward seems to like delicate women—the kind he feels like he can control," she said.

"True," Anah replied.

"Nina came from an average family, a little poor and delicate in nature, but somehow she was stubborn if she didn’t want to do things. Her stubbornness was what pissed the Edward off, making him act against her even though it’s not like he loved her genuinely. he just wanted to control her."

Anah nodded.

"Look at me... I am so poor that I can’t afford matching clothes. I’m a beauty with a fragile nature, easy to manipulate, and the most exciting part, I am a stutterer who cannot make a clear sentence at once. I fit all the types of his taste in women. How obsessed do you think Edward will be towards me?" Nova chuckled, the dark anticipation in the room thickening.

"That guy wants to marry you. You can’t marry him, or you will fail the mission," Anah commented.

Nova rolled her eyes. "I have my own taste in men. Marrying me will forever be his dream. I not only want him to fall hopelessly in love with me, I want him to turn against his brother and turn their family upside down," she replied.

"Their family really has a unique taste in women," Anah commented.

"And their unique taste will bring them disaster." Nova laughed. "He will soon ask about me from the bar boss. Time for the next action," she added, turning off the water and stepping out.

..... The Bar .....

"Call me the boss here," Edward ordered, and the male waiter immediately rushed off. Shortly after, the bar boss arrived, bowing to Edward. A heavy, oppressive tension immediately dropped over the table, suffocating the space around them.

"Young Master," he smiled nervously.

Edward nodded. "You sent a beauty here a few hours ago. Is she working here?" he asked.

The man thought for a while before his brows cleared. "Oh, you must be talking about Beauty. She is just working here temporarily. She... she’s too poor and too local, it will affect our job here if I let her stay longer," he replied, his voice shivering as if he were terrified of saying more words about Nova.

"So that’s her name... Beauty. She’s indeed a beauty," Edward commented, chuckling. "Call her to bring me some wine," he ordered.

"She... she left already. Her adopted parents sent someone to take her away," the man replied.

Edward’s brows knitted together. "Shit," he cursed angrily. He grabbed his phone and car keys off the table, then abruptly left.

The remaining four men exchanged tense glances and continued drinking.

The bar boss wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, taking in a deep breath. "I have told him everything you said I should tell him, please don’t look for me again," he thought, pure fear visible on his face as he left immediately.

..... Outside .....

Nova—looking injured with blood trickling down the corner of her lips—was running with a limp. Her face was wet with tears, and she was looking back repeatedly as if someone was fiercely chasing her.

As she kept running, she bumped into someone. Pure, unfiltered fear filled her body as she screamed loudly, shivering nonstop.

"It’s me... don’t be scared... come, I will take you away," Edward’s voice echoed.

Nova looked at him with her teary eyes. "They... they... they," she stuttered, but couldn’t finish her statement before her vision went black and she lost consciousness.

Edward immediately carried Nova, taking her inside his car, and quickly urged the driver to drive away, successfully escaping with her.

..... The Next Day .....

Nova opened her eyes and turned her head to the left side, finding a handsome man staring at her with a soft expression on his face.

"Target information," she thought.

Immediately, the blue screen appeared in front of her with the man’s information.

[Ding]

Target information downloaded:

Name: Alex Sunny, second son of the Sunny family

Age: 22

Occupation: Underground drug transferer

Threat rate: 0

Note: Captivated by your beauty, fell in love at first sight.

"Oh... it’s the second young master," Nova thought, lightly lowering her head. "Anah, are you still alive?" she thought.

"What now? I need to sleep, please," Anah replied in a lazy tone.

"When did this guy arrive?"

Anah was silent for a while. "He arrived last night when Edward was away to investigate you after calling the doctor to treat you. He came in seeing the doctor coming out and—ding—he found you, then stayed with you till now," she replied.

"Seems like I will have to start the chaos now," Nova thought, staring at Alex as her eyes immediately turned teary.

"You... yo... you sa... saved... saved me?" she asked, staring unblinkingly at him.

Alex was silent for a while. "Seems like Edward saved her, but... how can I let him have her?" he thought, and nodded. "You are badly injured, how are you feeling now?" he asked, his voice gentle but laced with a hidden, possessive tension.

Nova nodded shyly. "I... I... I am... f... fine... n... now," she replied. "Th... thank you... f... for s... saving m... me," she smiled gently.

Alex’s smile widened. "I was so worried about you last night that I took you inside the wrong room. Come, I will take you to my room... no... I mean, I arranged a room for you," he said.

Nova nodded and took his hand, getting down from the bed. It was at this moment that Alex noticed her outfit.

"Why dress like this?" he asked.

Nova looked down at her dress and quickly pulled her hand away from him. "D... don’t b... burn m... my clo... clothes, I don’t have a... another one," she replied, her voice sounding choked.

Alex bit his lower lip. "I’m sorry, I really mean no harm, okay?" he replied.

Nova smiled. "Y... you saved m... me... you... you are a... good per... person, I... I know," she replied.

Alex’s smile widened. "Oh, winning her heart isn’t hard at all. With her peerless beauty, I just need to change her style of dressing and buy her more clothes, and everything is good," he thought. "Let’s go," he said, holding Nova’s hand as he led her out.

As soon as they stepped outside, they bumped into Edward.

The atmosphere in the hallway instantly froze, plunging the space into a suffocating tension. Edward’s gaze fell on Nova, who immediately hid behind Alex as if terrified of him, and then his dark, furious gaze slowly shifted to Alex.

"What’s going on here?" he questioned, his voice turning instantly cold.
