Chapter 33: You should watch more in order to be perfect

Alan was tongue-tied. He stared at Nova in disbelief, almost completely speechless. "Why are you even watching this type of movie?" he asked.

Nova shrugged. "That neighbor of yours didn’t have any other movies aside from this, so I randomly picked some. Here, there are still five more disks to watch," she replied, pointing at the rest of the disks beside her.

Alan’s eyes widened even more in shock. "You... you are a girl going to a man’s house to rent this type of disk, how do you think he will view you? It would be better if you were just of average beauty, but..." His brows knitted slightly.

"Hold on, you didn’t go like this, did you?" he asked immediately, noticing Nova was still wearing his oversized shirt.

Nova smiled and pointed at the next couch behind Alan.

Alan turned around and noticed her clothes neatly folded on the chair’s arm, then breathed out in relief.

"I’ll go and return these first." He packed all the disks up immediately and removed the one in the DVD player as well.

"You are not watching?" Nova asked.

Alan paused and stared at Nova. "Why should I watch something like this?" he asked in a low voice, continuing to search the room in case there was anyone hidden.

Nova smirked. "You lack experience. You should watch more in order to be perfect," she replied.

Alan stared at Nova. "You are definitely advising me into trouble. Don’t you feel anything watching this?" he asked, holding up a disk to show her.

"I’m feeling horny," Nova replied with a straight face.

Alan’s face flushed in embarrassment, and he immediately avoided eye contact with Nova. "If you are feeling horny, go and take a shower. You are a married woman," he murmured in a barely audible voice, but Nova heard him loud and clear.

Nova chuckled. "See, this film is mostly for you. You should really sit down and watch with me, learn, since you lack experience," she said.

Alan’s face flushed more. "Don’t provoke me, I’m not watching with you. It’s already so late. I bought you some snacks; they are inside my bag." He passed his bag to her and stood up.

"I’ll return these first," he said, and walked out of the room.

Nova smiled and unzipped the bag. She brought out the snacks inside and then noticed a math textbook. She pulled it out and opened it, studying the questions.

"He’s having difficulties with this question?" she thought, noticing the halfway-done solution that was entirely wrong, and the spot on the paper seemed to have been erased multiple times.

"Oh boy," she murmured, searching his bag for a pen and an ink eraser. She erased the whole answer and started answering the question herself. Getting interested in the math problems, she answered a few more questions before putting down the pen.

"Let’s continue watching my movie," she commented.

Then, she brought out Alan’s laptop. Turning it on, she noticed it had a bridge password. Without breaking a sweat, she rearranged it once and unlocked the laptop.

Her brows knitted slightly when a notification popped up as soon as she unlocked the screen. She clicked the message.

[Boss... everything is ready, we can take action tonight.]

Reading the message, Nova’s eyes narrowed even more. "So what’s all this about?" she murmured.

Then, her eyes glowed softly, and several previous messages between Alan and his subordinate on the laptop were suddenly projected in the air right in front of her.

[We received an order from the Sunny family, Boss.]

[What order?]

[The eldest son of the Sunny family gave the order to kill an undercover officer named Raymond. I have forwarded his information to you.]

[Undercover officer... and he’s married. This seems to be his real identity, his cover is blown.]

[I guess so. His location has been confirmed, Boss.]

[Good... prepare all my stuff. We will take action tonight... midnight.]

[Text me when everything is ready. I’ll come over to your place, you don’t have to come here.]

[What’s the matter, Boss? Is someone suspecting you?]

[No... just text me when everything is set.]

[Yes, Boss.]

A cold smile appeared on Nova’s lips. "Sunny family, eldest son of the Sunny family, huh? I haven’t even thought of how to deal with you yet, but you went ahead to make my husbands kill each other, huh," she thought, her gaze darkening.

She picked up her phone from the table and dialed Raymond’s number immediately. The call rang for a few seconds before it was connected.

"Wifey!" Raymond’s excited voice echoed over the line before she could even speak.

Nova chuckled. "You don’t seem busy," she stated.

"You miss me? I’m coming home now," Raymond replied.

"Where are you currently?" Nova asked.

"Currently at the station. I was planning to lodge at a hotel before, but since my wife misses me, I’ll get home shortly. I’ve been thinking about you day and night. I really missed you very much," he said.

Nova smiled. "Can you not go anywhere else for today? Not even home. Just stay at the station," she said.

Raymond was silent for a short moment before speaking. "Fine then, always listen to wifey," he replied.

Nova chuckled. "And the Sunny family... they found out your real identity already already," she reported.

"Wifey, are you okay? Did they send someone after you?" Raymond’s voice immediately turned to panic.

"Nope, I just accidentally discovered the truth. You should do something about your exposed identity," Nova replied.

Raymond breathed out a sigh of relief. "Fine then, I’ll get to work on it right away," he replied. Then, there was a short pause. "Wifey," he called softly.

"Mhm?"

"I love you."

Nova laughed softly. "I love you more!" she replied.

Raymond’s soft giggle could be heard over the phone. "I’ll come home as soon as I handle things here," he promised.

"Be safe then. Your safety matters the most," Nova replied. They exchanged a few more words before the call was disconnected.

"Foggy-face," she called softly, putting her phone beside her on the couch.

Anah materialized in front of Nova, floating in the air with her arms folded together. "I think I’ve mentioned that my name is Anah." Her voice carried a heavy hint of annoyance.

Nova calmly tore open a snack, eating without a care in the world. "This Sunny family... I’m now interested in them," she commented.
