Chapter 443 - 259: Why Not Try and See
"You stay at the Wizard Tower and assist the legion in counterattacking the Wolf Tide dimension, I will take the Witch Hunting Legion to chase those guys."
Without much hesitation, Sunan quickly made up his mind.
Lize was taken aback, "It’s too dangerous!"
"Don’t worry." Sunan said, "If those guys had other tricks, they would have used them already. Or do you think they anticipated that I would chase into the Wolf Tide dimension and set traps ahead of time?"
Lize’s expression froze.
Normally, a Wizard indeed wouldn’t risk chasing into the Wolf Tide dimension, only someone like Sunan, who possesses various tricks and has the courage emboldened by high skills, would do so.
The Wizards of the Dark Throne couldn’t have foreseen this.
"...Be careful." Lize eventually compromised.
Sunan gave a slight smile, and his figure disappeared instantly from where he stood.
When he reappeared, he was outside the Wizard Tower, turning into a stream of light and disappearing into the Plane Channel.
Hundreds of Master-Touch Puppets and Secret Puppets followed closely, rushing into the Plane Channel one by one.
Lize suppressed the worry in her heart, took over command of the battlefield, and began killing Black Wolves.
She needed to advance the front line to the Plane Channel as soon as possible, then counterattack into the Wolf Tide dimension to assist Sunan.
"Send word down, let the Wizards take action."
"The waiting Sub-Dragon Knight unit will also be deployed."
The war progressed smoother than imagined. The Star Alliance hadn’t even used all its tricks and had already repelled the Dark Throne.
It proved that, after hundreds of years of development, the power accumulated by the Star Alliance was more potent than she imagined.
...
Back in the familiar Wolf Tide dimension, including Youxi, all the Wizards breathed a sigh of relief.
But what followed closely was a deep frustration and bewilderment.
They thought this invasion of the Starlight Continent would be effortlessly accomplished, a feast from which they could reap abundant rewards, who could have imagined it would end up like this.
All five Wizard Towers were destroyed, not to mention the painstakingly cultivated Wolves of Dusk, all dead.
The loss was so severe it was indescribable!
Gazing over the dejected subordinates, Youxi felt equally miserable, but he quickly collected his emotions, speaking in a deep voice:
"Now is not the time to slacken, the Star Alliance will soon attack."
"Joseph, immediately move all wolf packs from the nests here and prepare for battle, the rest of you with me, close the Plane Channel right now!"
Having lost the Wizard Tower, Youxi would not allow any loss to the Wolf Tide dimension, which was the basis for his survival; otherwise, he would have no chance of turning the tables at the Dark Throne.
"Will the Star Alliance’s Wizard Tower follow us?" Someone worriedly asked.
Youxi thought for a moment and shook his head, saying, "It shouldn’t. In those last waves of attacks, the Star Alliance’s Wizard Tower firepower had clearly diminished, probably nearing depletion. It shouldn’t have enough energy for plane traversal."
"Even if it does traverse, its energy would be almost exhausted. We can definitely dance with it and slowly wear it down."
Youxi even hoped that the Wizard Tower would really follow, for capturing it would allow him to compensate for some losses.
After Youxi’s words, everyone’s expression relaxed slightly.
But just at this moment, a powerful fluctuation of energy particles abruptly surged from the Plane Channel.
Everyone turned their astonished eyes back, only to see numerous figures rushing out from the Plane Channel.
There were those squid puppets and humanoid puppets.
Even more shocking, leading them was a human Wizard!
Youxi was first stunned, then flew into a rage.
Driving the Wizard Tower and chasing them back to the Wolf Tide dimension was one thing, but daring to pursue them alone with puppets—did they think they were made of clay?
"Everyone is here? Nice, saves me the trouble of chasing each one individually."
Sunan scanned the crowd, a simple smile appearing on his face.
This expression of utter disregard deeply enraged the Wizards of the Dark Throne.
Youxi stared coldly at Sunan, his tone sinister, "Are you Sunan, the master of the Star Alliance? Daring to chase us without the Wizard Tower and relying on some Wizard-level puppets, you think you have us cornered?"
Sunan smirked, "We’ll see."
Youxi’s face completely darkened.
The defeat on the front lines had already left him feeling shame and resentment, and now seeing the opponent blatantly disregard him, his anger reached a boiling point.
Without further hesitation, Youxi’s eyes turned fierce, shouting coldly, "Kill him!"
As his words fell, he charged towards Sunan.
The battle erupted instantly, with the Wizards of the Dark Throne and Master-Touch Puppets, Secret Puppets clashing in a frenzy.
Sunan and Youxi engaged each other.
At the level of Level 3 Wizard, one typically mastered all extraordinary skills.
Their spells were relentless, the dazzling glow of magic never fading.
And just as the battle reached its climax, Maisy and Cyril also crossed the Plane Channel into the Wolf Tide dimension.
Their eyes first fell on Sunan and Youxi in fierce contention.
"Sunan has already advanced to Level 3 Wizard?" Cyril was shocked, "How is his ascension so rapid!"
Maisy’s eyes also flickered with surprise.
She knew Sunan seemed to have only recently broken through to Level 2 Crystallization; even with fifty Spirit Orbs traded from her, logically, he shouldn’t so quickly advance to Level 3 Wizard!
This speed of strength enhancement was astonishingly fast!
No wonder he dared to pursue Youxi and others with just puppets.
Cyril then regained his composure, observing for a moment and shaking his head slightly, "Sunan was impulsive; Youxi is a Level 3 Crystallization Wizard, two minor realms higher, Sunan isn’t his match one-on-one."
Maisy’s eyes flickered slightly, but she was silent.
Although she had seen Sunan only a few times, she could tell he wasn’t impulsive. If he dared act, he certainly had a backup plan.
Perhaps he might bring some more surprises.
After the initial probing exchanges, Youxi’s heart settled, coldly laughing repeatedly.
"I thought you were formidable, turns out you’re just a Level 3 Vaporization Wizard. I truly don’t know where you got the confidence to chase us, but today I’ll have you leave your life here!"
As his words fell, Youxi’s skin cracked all over, pale and sharp bone spikes pierced through the flesh, swiftly wrapping around him, forming a hedgehog-like bone armor covered with spines.
Then, with a wave of his hand, countless bone spikes shot out like a torrential downpour.
"’Whitebone’ talent ability huh."
Though used differently, Sunan immediately recognized the talent ability Youxi activated.
With a slight thought, an invisible force field centered on him instantly spread out in all directions.
In an instant, the rapidly incoming bone spikes seemed to fall into a quagmire, their speed suddenly slowed, followed by a series of cracks appearing, quickly breaking apart as if crushed by some invisible force.
At the same time, Youxi suddenly felt his body sink, as though mountains had pressed down, noticeably slowing his movements.
"What talent ability is this?"
Youxi’s face showed horror.
In the distance, Cyril was equally shocked, eyes wide, echoing the same question.
He then looked towards Maisy, hoping to find answers from the well-informed True Spirit Wizard.
However, Maisy also shook her head, eyes filled with equal puzzlement.
She boasted a thorough knowledge of the Wizard World’s talent abilities, thinking there were almost none unfamiliar to her.
If there were any, they would be newly researched lower-tier talent abilities by a Wizard Influence.
Yet, the talent ability Sunan now exhibited was clearly of high level, still, she had never seen or even heard of it, which was truly unexpected.
