Synthetic Wizard

Chapter 361 - 219: Fallen Star City (2)

[Light Skill]

The lowest tier zero magic, when cast by an Official Wizard, its effect is greatly enhanced, illuminating the surrounding hundred meters as if it were daylight.

After diving down more than three hundred meters, Amy finally spoke, pointing ahead.

“This is the place, meow.”

Sunan maneuvered the orange-red orb of light over, the bright glow revealing the dark seabed in intricate detail, yet aside from some stones, there was nothing else.

“So strange, meow, I clearly sensed the fluctuation of energy particles.”

Amy pressed her chubby paws on each side of her head, looking puzzled.

“It’s most likely concealed by an Illusion Technique.”

Sunan immediately cast [Secret Eye Communication].

This Tier Three magic allows one to see the magic aura, though it cannot see through illusions directly like [True Sight], it can be used at times to search for objects with concealed energy particle fluctuations.

As a wisp of ghostly blue light flashed across Sunan’s eyes, a blurred door soon appeared in his vision.

“Found it!”

A look of delight appeared on Sunan’s face.

The door before him stood two meters high and roughly a meter wide, enough for two people to pass side by side.

To slowly search using [Secret Eye Communication], finding such a small door in the vast, dark ocean, who knows it might take until the end of time.

Without hesitation, silvery liquid metal surged from Sunan’s body, quickly forming a two-meter long cone shimmering with an icy gleam at the tip, then shot out like a cannonball, striking the distant door!

In the silent world of the deep sea, a visible shockwave ripple spread out from the point of impact in all directions.

The ocean seemed to shudder, the ground at the direct hit of the shockwave instantly sank, forming a crater five or six meters deep and more than a hundred meters in diameter.

The surrounding stones were instantly shattered and disintegrated, turning the nearby water murky.

In just an instant, the surrounding sea area of several hundred meters seemed to undergo a violent explosion, taking quite a while to gradually calm down.

But Sunan and Amy were already nowhere to be seen.

Just as the silver cone pierced through the door, Sunan had already taken Amy through it, reaching the space beyond.

Then he saw a city of white jade.

The city squatted quietly atop a massive black mountain shaped like an inverted cone, rotating clockwise at an extremely slow pace, and in the center of the city, a spiraling tower stood out with an imposing presence, as if a sharp needle pierced the sky, overlooking the entire city.

In the vision of [Secret Eye Communication], thousands of radiant enchanted runes seemed to gush from the top of the spiral tower like droplets of water, automatically merging and forming seven long, radiant colored ribbons, intertwined and encircling the entire city.

“Is this the Fallen Star City? So magnificent, meow!” Amy stared wide-eyed at the city before her.

Sunan’s eyes were also full of wonder.

Just in terms of appearance, Fallen Star City was far better than the Tower of Stars and the Forest of Darkness.

Moreover, it somewhat resembles a Floating City.

However, Sunan knew that it was only superficially similar, true Floating Cities are not this small.

Anyway, they finally found the Fallen Star City!

Suppressing his inner excitement and joy, Sunan leapt forward, entering the city of white jade.

Everywhere he looked, all the buildings were constructed from white jade stone, appearing extremely beautiful.

Sunan casually broke off a piece of stone from a roadside flower bed, examining it closely, he found these stones were indeed white jade stone.

“A city entirely built from white jade stone…”

Sunan couldn’t help but take a light breath.

Aside from the words ’extravagance’, he didn’t know how else to describe it.

Even when constructing a Wizard Tower, only a few select places like spell training rooms and laboratories require the use of white jade stone.

Yet in Fallen Star City, many of these buildings were clearly residential, still using precious white jade stone, it’s simply too extravagant!

“So much white jade stone, it’s enough to build a large Wizard Tower.”

Sunan decided that after exploring Fallen Star City, he would dismantle all the buildings here, reclaim all the white jade stone, and save it for upgrading the Wizard Tower in the future.

Navigating through the streets and alleys, Sunan and Amy quickly arrived at the base of the spiral tower in the center of the city.

Curiously, Amy leaned forward, reaching out to touch the colorful light bands formed by the enchanted runes, her paw passing right through.

“Meow, it’s so cool!” the little one was having a great time playing.

“Stop playing around, let’s get down to business.”

Sunan picked up Amy and put her back on his shoulder, then stepped towards the tower door.

However, as soon as he approached the door, the seven colored light bands immediately reacted. Dozens of dazzling, piercing enchanted runes detached and fell rapidly like stars, aiming straight at Sunan’s head.

Sunan raised an eyebrow and calmly manipulated the liquid metal to meet the runes.

The two collided in mid-air, and upon contact, both the enchanted runes and the liquid metal vanished.

After blocking all the enchanted runes, the volume of the liquid metal had shrunk by nearly one third.

“Runes with annihilating properties.”

Sunan’s eyes flickered.

Seeing more enchanted runes detaching and falling from the colorful light bands, he no longer hesitated, controlled the liquid metal to block the runes, and swiftly rushed into the door with Amy.

The moment he stepped through the door, the enchanted runes paused slightly, then floated back and re-integrated into the colored light bands, continuing to flow silently like a river, as if nothing had happened.

With the danger cleared, Sunan didn’t relax at all.

Originally, traversing the city without encountering any hindrance led him to think Fallen Star City had depleted its energy, rendering defense measures ineffective, but now it seemed the measures were still effective, albeit limited only to this spiral tower.

The path ahead might still face other attacks.

Behind the door was a spiraling long staircase, twisting upwards as if it had no end.

Sunan raised his guard, stepped onto the staircase, and ascended.

The surroundings fell silent, with only Sunan’s footsteps faintly echoing.

The air was somewhat chilling, combined with the deathly quiet, making Amy clutch Sunan’s neck in fear.

Not knowing how long he had walked, Sunan stopped, looking upwards.

It was still the seemingly endless spiral staircase.

“How long is this staircase? We’ve been walking for so long, meow!” Amy’s large eyes were full of confusion.

Sunan squinted, chuckled, and said, “The staircase isn’t long; someone just doesn’t want us to reach the top.”

As soon as his words fell, a surge of liquid metal gushed out from Sunan like a torrent, crashing fiercely in all directions.

Crack!

Suddenly, there was a sound of something shattering in the void.

Amy felt her vision flicker; the spiral staircase remained, but it no longer seemed endless, with the ceiling visible above.

“Illusion Technique, meow?”

Sunan didn’t explain, just smiled and continued upwards.

Reaching the final step, one person and one cat arrived at an enormous luxurious hall resembling a palace.

Estimated to be at least four or five square kilometers in size.

The hall was empty except for two half-person-high stone pillars at the deepest part, seemingly holding something shrouded in a halo, obscuring what it was.

“It must be treasure, meow!”

Amy leapt down, about to run towards the stone pillars, but Sunan caught her by the neck and pulled her back.

“I know you can traverse space, but don’t run around in a place like this.”

Sunan lightly flicked Amy’s forehead, then pointed in front of the stone pillars.

Amy covered her forehead, eyes wide, looking, and finally noticed a puddle of mud not far from the stone pillars.

Wait!

How could there be mud in such a luxurious hall?

Under Amy’s stunned gaze, a round object slowly rose from the mud, initially the size of a pot cover, then rapidly expanded; when finally fully revealed, it was nearly half the size of a basketball court.

This was an incredibly large monster.

Its skin a bizarre pink-blue, marked with dark green patterns, four tiny eyes arranged in a line from top to bottom, dozens of black tentacles attached to its body contrasting its skin color, looking peculiarly eerie and ridiculous.

However, that terrifying size was no laughing matter.

“An, an octopus?” Amy was dumbfounded.

From its appearance, the monster indeed bore resemblance to an octopus, but ordinary octopuses obviously don’t have four eyes, nor dozens of tentacles.

“It’s a puppet creature,” Sunan said.
