Chapter 100 - 91: Woodland Cabin (Part 2)

Chapter 100: Chapter 91: Woodland Cabin (Part 2)

“Furthermore, the materials you entrusted to the Firefox Trading House for purchase have arrived. I’ve arranged for them to be delivered to the base.”

The so-called materials include some rare metals needed to refine the Demon Pattern Core, as well as the consumables Sunan needs for mass-producing magical items next.

The purchase of these materials cost quite a bit of money.

However, Kei just made a fortune from the war, so he’s quite generous with the procurement.

“I plan to open one or two more Magic Plant Gardens next. At that time, I might need you to send troops to guard them,” Sunan said.

“No problem.”

Kei agreed without hesitation.

He was just planning to persuade Sunan to expand the planting scale of Dragon Blood Fruit since, with expanding territory and army size, the demand for Dragon Blood Fruit continues to grow.

He couldn’t wait for Sunan to open up more Magic Plant Gardens.

Leaving the lord’s manor, Sunan headed straight back to the base.

The war has ended, and now he can focus on training, learning, and farming.

In this period, Sunan has successfully mastered his first Tier Two Magic spell: Elemental Protection.

The learning process for the second Tier Two Magic spell, Floating Skill, has also commenced.

Moreover, the progress of the training in incantation casting is already halfway complete, progressing faster than expected.

Sunan estimates he can master incantation casting in at most another two months.

“Next, focus on making magical items, and aim to upgrade Magical Item Creation to level 4 as soon as possible.”

“The Demon Pattern Core still lacks twenty-nine rare metals, which need to be researched one by one for substitutes.”

While contemplating, Sunan arrived at the base.

At this moment, his gaze suddenly paused, looking at an owl perched on a distant tree.

It had a terrifying face, with six pairs of eyes densely scattered across its head. Inside its beak were tiny sharp teeth, and its talons were dark red.

As soon as it met Sunan’s gaze, the owl suddenly spoke, but the voice that emerged was a deep male voice.

“Pleased to meet you, Mr. Sunan.”

“I’m called Night Owl, and I’m honored to meet you.”

Sunan’s mouth twitched slightly.

Yet another Wizard Apprentice.

Seeing Sunan had no reaction and simply watched him calmly, the owl gave a human-like cough and continued, “No need for too much vigilance, Mr. Sunan. I’m here with no ill intentions, merely to invite you to join our Woodland Hut.”

“Woodland Hut?” Sunan showed a hint of curiosity.

“That’s right, Woodland Hut is a secret organization, composed entirely of Level 3 Wizard Apprentices…”

Sunan suddenly interrupted Night Owl: “Is Herb Gillman also a member of your Woodland Hut?”

“…That’s correct, but please don’t misunderstand.”

Seeing Sunan squinting with distrust, the owl spread its wings in a human-like manner, explaining, “Woodland Hut is a loose organization, mainly established to facilitate the exchange of information and resources among members; apart from trading relations, there are no closer ties between members, nor will we interfere in each other’s affairs, so there is no need to worry about anyone among us wanting to avenge Herb.”

“In fact, many in the Woodland Hut disapprove of Herb’s actions.”

Sunan, though outwardly noncommittal, had already trusted it eighty percent in his heart.

After all, according to Night Owl, Woodland Hut has multiple Wizard Apprentices. If they truly wanted to avenge Herb, wouldn’t it be much easier to confront and eliminate him directly rather than engaging in intrigue?

Of course, this assumption is not one hundred percent accurate either.

Sunan did not let his guard down; besides the already activated Ring of Extreme Protection, a High-level Rune Gemstone silently fell into his palm.

“I’m rather curious, why would you want to invite me to join Woodland Hut?”

Night Owl seemed to smile and promptly replied:

“Actually, we noticed you a long time ago. During the Battle of Flash City, your reputation spread throughout the Starry Duchy; naturally, we heard about it too.”

“It’s just that back then you were only a Level 2 Wizard Apprentice, and according to the rules of Woodland Hut, we only accept Level 3 Wizard Apprentices, so we hadn’t contacted you.”

“It wasn’t until you killed Herb and displayed strength comparable to Level 3 Wizard Apprentices that we discussed and decided to make an exception to invite you to join Woodland Hut.”

“Obviously, it looks like we don’t need to make an exception now.”

Night Owl watched Sunan with deep, meaningful eyes.

A Level 3 Wizard Apprentice can store a small amount of Energy Particles in their body; among Level 3 Wizard Apprentices, it is easy to distinguish at close range.

“So, Mr. Sunan, will you consider joining our Woodland Hut?”

“Trust me, it will greatly benefit your future development!”

Sunan pretended to be deep in thought, but in reality, he had already agreed in his mind.

He had always been seeking traces of Wizard Apprentice organizations.

Now that he finally found one, he certainly wouldn’t want to miss it.

Especially since Woodland Hut is a loose organization based on trading ties.

Joining such an organization poses few restrictions and allows resource and information exchange with other Wizard Apprentices, which indeed offers many benefits.

As his strength improves, Sunan needs rarer and more precious resources.

Relying solely on the Firefox Trading House makes it difficult to gather everything needed.

Even with a synthesis cube, many materials are still out of reach, requiring time-consuming research for substitutes.

However, this secret organization, with many Level 3 Wizard Apprentices, might bring some surprises.

“Alright, I will join you!”

Feigning thoughtful consideration for a moment, Sunan agreed.

“Then, welcome to join us, Mr. Sunan. From today on, you are a member of Woodland Hut.”

Night Owl gently tapped its wings as if clapping.

Then it flapped its wings and flew down from the tree, leaned forward slightly after landing, its belly suddenly bulged and rapidly moved toward its mouth, and finally spewed out something with a waah.

It was a palm-sized, exquisitely crafted wooden toy house that looked lifelike.

The house had no roof, clearly exposing its internal structure. Inside was merely a long table and over ten chairs, with nothing else.

The surfaces of both the floor, walls, and furniture were densely engraved with Enchanted Runes.

“Trading House!”

Sunan murmured in surprise, a hint of astonishment flashing in his eyes.

Night Owl seemed even more startled than him: “Mr. Sunan, you recognize this item?”

“Sort of,” Sunan nodded slightly.

The Trading House is a very special Micro-Light Level magical item.

Though it appears as a model toy house, it is actually a key connecting to an Other Dimension Space known as the Trading House.

In this Other Dimension Space, all entrants are considered to have signed an Oath Contract, which restricts them from engaging in any trade-destructive behavior, including but not limited to harming other traders, seizing others’ belongings, etc., or else their souls will be annihilated.

In simple terms, this is a magical item specifically used for secured transactions.

Whether during the heyday of the Wizard era a thousand years ago, or during the upcoming Wizard age, Trading Houses are very common.

Many Wizards (Apprentices) like to use Trading Houses for remote transactions, being both safe and convenient.

Given that Sunan seemed genuine in recognizing the Trading House, Night Owl couldn’t help but be secretly amazed.

The Trading House was something he stumbled upon in a Wizard Apprentice legacy, and since then, he hadn’t encountered anyone who recognized it.

Initially, he struggled to convey to other Wizard Apprentices the importance of this item for safe trading, which allowed the smooth establishment of the Woodland Hut organization.

Yet unexpectedly, Sunan, a newly-promoted Level 3 Wizard Apprentice with arguably shallow experience, recognized the Trading House at a glance.

“Did you read about it in some Wizard’s Scripture?”

Night Owl was puzzled internally but didn’t question further, pointing a wing at the Trading House on the ground.

“Since Mr. Sunan recognizes this item, that’s great.”

“Woodland Hut holds gatherings once every three months to exchange resources and information. The next meeting is in sixteen nights; you can prepare your trade items by then and enter the Trading House directly.”

Sunan nodded, manipulated the Energy Particles to clean the Trading House, removing the mucus before taking it in hand.

The Trading House can generate multiple ’keys’; the one in his hand is merely one such key, holding entry and exit access to the Trading House.

“By the way, each member of Woodland Hut uses a codename to refer to each other, keeping their identity confidential. Mr. Sunan, you can decide on your codename in advance.”

After reminding Sunan, Night Owl flapped its wings and left.

Watching the owl disappear into the distance, Sunan retracted his gaze, played with the ’key’ in his hand, and smiled playfully before turning and walking into the base.
