Swordsmanship Coach: Kill with One Slash
Chapter 414 - 252: Leaving
Chapter 414: Chapter 252: Leaving
"..."
"Sect Leader Ao seems a bit down."
Ao Lin did his best to hide it, but a close relative had just died. Not only that, he had died in such a state right before his very eyes. As long as a person had emotions, it was impossible to completely conceal such grief, no matter how hard one tried.
So, Su Xing immediately noticed Ao Lin’s emotional state. That, combined with the strange celestial phenomenon before the battle and the fact that Ao Lin’s younger brother never appeared, allowed Su Xing to more or less guess what had happened.
However, there was nothing Su Xing could do about it. If his own brother, Su Yu, had died so tragically, Su Xing couldn’t guarantee he wouldn’t be just as devastated as Ao Lin.
’I probably would be.’
A strange thought suddenly occurred to Su Xing:
’Why didn’t Ao Lin use this flower to save his own brother?’
In fact, Ao Lin had already considered it. If the flower could have saved his brother, Ao Lin would have broken any rule to use it. But unfortunately, for some unknown reason, the soul within Ao Shi’s body was gone.
The soul.
It is the core of all consciousness.
As long as the soul remained, there was still a chance of revival. But if the soul was gone, even if the physical body was restored, it would be nothing more than a walking corpse.
Only after learning this did he give up on reviving his brother. This showed that Ao Lin was indeed a very rational person. A less rational brother might have wanted to try, even if there was only a sliver of hope.
But...
Why had that person named Chi Yu absorbed Ao Shi’s soul? And how had he done it? This was something Ao Lin couldn’t understand at all. And since he didn’t say anything, Su Xing certainly didn’t know either.
’Forget it. I’ll go to the Scripture Pavilion and finish reading the manuals I didn’t get to before.’
Su Xing thought to himself. Although he sympathized with Ao Lin, matters of life and death were beyond his power to change. He could do nothing to help, so he decided to focus on his own affairs first.
Before coming to participate in this martial tournament, he still had two floors of books left to read. Once he fused all the martial arts in the Scripture Pavilion, Su Xing would have thoroughly absorbed everything Dragon Gate had to offer. At that point, it would be time for him to leave.
Thinking of this, Su Xing was suddenly reminded of the human natives in the Spirit Realm Secret Realm. Back then, Su Xing could only fuse one or two books at a time. If he had the chance to go back, he could probably fuse their entire collection.
However, those were matters for the future.
Su Xing spent the entire day reading on the top two floors of the Scripture Pavilion. After the great upheaval, the Dragon Gate Disciples had suffered heavy casualties. Even the uninjured disciples were in no mood to visit the Scripture Pavilion after such an event.
As a result, the Scripture Pavilion was much quieter than his last visit. But even if Dragon Gate hadn’t suffered this disaster, Su Xing’s display of strength in the recent battles would likely have been enough to deter the other disciples from bothering him again.
Time ticked by, second by second. The manuals on the top two floors of Dragon Gate were truly worthy of being called the sect’s essence. The time Su Xing spent on each book was far longer than with the previous ones. It wasn’t until dawn the next day that he finally finished reading and fusing them all with his Sword Dao.
He wasn’t sure if it was an illusion, but Su Xing felt something like a dragon’s qi suddenly rise within him. It was very similar to Ao Lin’s aura, but with an added sharpness, like a dragon wielding a longsword.
Su Xing hadn’t yet figured out the use of this qi. He tried to control it, but it was completely unresponsive. However, he could feel it circulating through his body, following his bloodstream, lap after lap.
With each circulation, Su Xing could feel his strength increase slightly. At the same time, an unknown power was continuously brewing within him.
Although Su Xing couldn’t perceive what it was, he could sense that it was an incredibly powerful technique—perhaps even a brand new trump card.
"I didn’t expect..."
"...to gain so much."
Su Xing murmured, gazing at the heavens. Seven days had passed since he left the Cyan Cloud Sect. Only three days remained of the ten-day agreement.
It was time to return to the Cyan Cloud Sect.
But before returning to the Cyan Cloud Sect, Su Xing needed to take the flower to the special organization’s building in Luocheng. He wanted to hear what Yao Yixiao had to say.
’Ao Lin said he would have Yi Changhao deliver the flower to my previous residence. Yi Changhao should still be there now.’
With this thought, Su Xing put down the last book, let out a slow breath, and turned to leave the Scripture Pavilion. He was already powerful enough when he entered, but now, as he left, he was even stronger.
Such a growth rate was truly terrifying, yet Su Xing felt it still wasn’t enough. He wasn’t getting stronger fast enough. Countless unknown enemies lay before him, and against them, even a Tier Eight Transcendent probably wouldn’t be enough.
Take the Martial God, for example.
Although he had shown no hostility toward Su Xing during their last encounter, his methods were mysterious. Most importantly, even now, when Su Xing recalled his aura, he still found it terrifying. This showed that the Martial God’s strength still far surpassed his own current level.
If even the Martial God was that powerful, weren’t there people in this world even stronger than him?
’The road I must travel to improve is a long one.’
At this thought, Su Xing’s eyes grew even more determined. He refused to become complacent over his rapid improvement.
"Elder Su."
From inside the room, Yi Changhao’s voice suddenly called out. As the old saying goes, other men hide a beautiful woman in a golden house; Su Xing, on the other hand, was hiding a man in his room.
"Mm."
Su Xing nodded. "Where is my item?"
Getting straight to the point. Since Su Xing had already decided to leave, there was no need to play any roundabout word games. His first words cut right to the chase.
Hearing Su Xing’s words, Yi Changhao didn’t hesitate. He had survived to witness Su Xing’s terrifying strength, and the thought that he had actually crossed swords with such an opponent in Desperate Gorge made him feel incredibly lucky to be alive.
Thankfully, Su Xing had held back then. Yi Changhao still couldn’t understand why he had done so. If Su Xing had possessed his current strength back in Desperate Gorge, there would have been no room for negotiation; he would have been blasted to smithereens on the spot.
"Mm."
Su Xing took the item handed to him. It was a long box, seemingly made from a type of purple bamboo, and it gave off a refreshing, pleasant fragrance.
Su Xing slowly opened the box and immediately saw two flowers, one black and one white. Their appearance instantly captured his attention. He had assumed that a flower with a name related to the "other shore" would be red, but this was completely different from what he’d imagined.
Still, Su Xing was certain the item in the box was genuine. The energy it emanated was that of a true heavenly treasure, and besides, Ao Lin had no reason to deceive him.
"I’m leaving."
Su Xing glanced at Yi Changhao. "Sect Leader Ao told me yesterday that I just needed to let you know when I wanted to leave."
"I’m leaving now."
"Safe travels, Elder Su. I will be sure to inform Sect Leader Ao of your departure."
Yi Changhao said, clasping his hands in a salute. But when he looked up again, Su Xing was already gone. He was currently rushing toward the special organization’s building in Luocheng at a terrifying speed.
At such a speed, it would probably take Su Xing less than ten minutes to reach the organization’s building.
Sure enough, seven minutes later, the figure of a young man appeared on the ground floor of the Luocheng organization’s building.
