Chapter 316: Chapter 203: Conclusion, Part 2

"Alright, go on."

"Okay."

Li Yu nodded.

With that, he turned to leave, but unexpectedly, a familiar, elegant figure appeared behind him.

She wasn’t wearing a dress like she usually did.

Instead, like the other combat personnel, she was dressed in a rather unflattering combat uniform. Although the uniform was still a prototype, it was very effective for Low-tier Transcendents in the special organization.

"Bailan, what are you doing here?"

Bailan didn’t look like her usual self. Her body was slick with a thin layer of sweat inside the stuffy combat uniform, and her messy bangs were stuck to her forehead.

"I heard there was trouble in the Secret Realm, so I came to see if there was anything I could do to help."

When Bailan saw Li Yu, she let out a breath she hadn’t realized she was holding. News traveled fast in the special organization. The moment Su Xing rescued that group, the report of a Tier Eight Powerhouse appearing in the Secret Realm had already been sent back. Because of this, Bailan concluded that Li Yu was in danger.

Therefore, she had immediately decided to come to the Secret Realm. She might not be of much use, but at least she wouldn’t be on the sidelines, uninvolved.

However, after her gaze rested on Li Yu’s face for a moment, she noticed Su Xing out of the corner of her eye, sitting on the ground not far away. A white light was beginning to emanate from Su Xing’s body, and the wounds on him were starting to heal at a rapid pace.

"This is..."

Bailan said, surprised.

The white light was just too familiar. Memories from a few months ago came rushing back, a jumbled mess in her mind, and she instantly understood what had happened.

"He’s..."

Bailan wanted to say something, but she seemed hesitant, finding it hard to believe. The words were caught in her throat, refusing to come out.

"Yes."

Li Yu said with a hint of resignation.

Li Yu’s confirmation sent Bailan into a sudden silence. Unlike Li Yu, who was simply shocked by Su Xing’s power, Bailan’s emotions were far more complex.

’She was reminded of things from long ago, leaving her unsure of how to face him now. Should I act as a member of the special organization? As a friend? Or... something else?’

Once she knew Su Xing’s true strength, various past incidents played out in her mind like a movie, one memory after another surfacing.

Things that had always confused Bailan before were suddenly all explained with Su Xing in the picture. It was like a tangled ball of yarn where she had finally found the loose end.

However, in the end, it was all in the past.

Although Su Xing had always seemed somewhat indifferent to her, she could feel that he didn’t actually dislike her. But ever since the Spirit Realm’s descent, the special organization had gotten busier and busier, and the two of them had started to drift apart.

And now, when they met again, Su Xing was no longer on the same level as her or anyone else.

"Ahem..."

Li Longxuan suddenly coughed. He could feel that he was about to return to his main body, so he said to Su Xing:

"I think I’m about to head back. Once you’re done here, let’s have a meal together."

"Okay."

Su Xing, eyes closed, asked while he was healing, "Where to?"

"The usual spot?"

"..."

"What usual spot? Does that place even look like somewhere you can eat? Just come straight to my house. Li Yu will drive you back later."

"Mmm..."

"Dad, my brother is coming back today."

Li Yu said, seeming a little hesitant.

"Hm?"

Hearing Li Yu, Li Longxuan was amused. He said with a laugh, "Don’t worry. That kid might have a hot temper, but he definitely won’t have any problem with Su. After all..."

Before Li Longxuan could finish, his clone abruptly dissipated, leaving only Li Yu, Bailan, and Su Xing at the scene.

"..."

Li Longxuan’s sudden disappearance caught all three of them off guard. Being cut off mid-sentence is an excruciating kind of frustration, but fortunately, Su Xing knew Elder Li Longxuan well enough to understand that his unfinished words were at least not malicious.

...

「Time trickled by.」

Although Su Xing was recovering quickly, it still took time. Five hours slipped away in the blink of an eye. Bailan and the other injured members of the special organization had returned to the outside, as it was definitely too dangerous for someone like Bailan, who wasn’t strong, to remain in a place like this.

As for Li Yu, he stood guard here alone, waiting for Su Xing to finish healing.

"Haaaah."

Su Xing let out a heavy breath.

He slowly opened his eyes and suddenly saw Li Yu sitting nearby with a light green lollipop in his mouth, his eyes slightly closed as he bathed in the rare sunlight of the Secret Realm.

"Teacher Li, what’s the situation?"

Su Xing asked.

Hearing Su Xing’s form of address, Li Yu chuckled. He spoke somewhat indistinctly around the lollipop in his mouth, "Some ’teacher’ I am. A real impostor."

"It’s fine. You taught my younger brother a lot back then, and you also helped me a great deal while I was maintaining my identity as a mysterious expert. I’ve always acknowledged that."

"Ha..."

Li Yu was speechless for a moment. He had never thought about the future when he did those things, but now it seemed he had earned an incredible favor.

"Ahem. Right now, the others from the organization are searching the Secret Realm for the Sick Monarch’s hiding place. Bailan has already left. After all, she’s not a combat-oriented Sequencer."

"Oh, it’s already four o’clock. My father is already starting to prepare the meal. Should we head over now?"

Li Yu inquired.

Unconsciously, Li Yu’s attitude toward Su Xing had become much more respectful. He would ask for Su Xing’s opinion first before doing anything.

Status is a reflection of strength, so Su Xing didn’t think much of Li Yu’s behavior. He simply nodded and said, "Let’s go then."

"Okay."

As soon as he finished speaking, Li Yu stood up and led Su Xing to the side, where a black sedan that Li Yu had an organization member bring was parked.

"Elder Su, may I ask a question?"

Li Yu spoke very politely, which sounded a bit odd to Su Xing. However, Su Xing didn’t say much, just nodded and replied:

"Go ahead."

"Since you’re the mysterious expert, why did you never say so? We showed you so much goodwill; you should have been able to tell that the organization meant you no harm."

Li Yu had always been puzzled by this. ’Even if his talent is exceptional, he can’t live completely isolated from society. No matter how you look at it, having a good relationship with the official organization is crucial, but he kept it hidden until now.’

"..."

Su Xing didn’t know what to say for a moment. He couldn’t exactly say that just two or three months ago, he, Su Xing, was still an ordinary person, and that he had grown to this level in such a short time.

That was something he absolutely couldn’t reveal. Reaching his current level of strength in one’s twenties was already shocking enough. To say he had done it in two or three months would be utterly world-shattering.

Right now, while Su Xing could face a Tier Eight Powerhouse in his "shattered sword state," he certainly didn’t think he was invincible.

As for enemies, the Celestial Human Tomb was by no means weak. Besides the Celestial Human Tomb, there was also the mysterious Martial God who had yet to appear, and that enigmatic youth in the sky.

One had to remember, the Celestial Human Tomb was just a crisis for Xia Country.

Ever since the resurgence of Spiritual Qi, various different systems, phenomena, and disasters had appeared all over the world. No one knew if there were even stronger enemies or calamities out there.

Therefore, although Su Xing had revealed his strength, he had no intention of acting like he was invincible.

He just said lightly, "I was used to my old life. Everyone makes their own choices."

"True."

Hearing Su Xing’s words, Li Yu just nodded. Although he still found it a bit strange, what Su Xing said fit his stereotypical image of a "mysterious expert" perfectly, so he didn’t press the matter.

Soon, the car drove out of the Secret Realm.
