More than ten minutes later, when Song Yinyin walked out of the coffee shop, she saw the poster hanging at the entrance.

On the poster was a newly launched flavor of coffee from this shop.

On a sudden impulse, she ordered a cup of that new flavor, had them pack it up and carried it in her hand, and then ordered a serving of their signature dessert.

Recently, Lu Jihan had been working overtime a lot, so she wanted to bring it over for him.

She got into the car with that new-flavor coffee and drove toward the Mainland Building.

Since it was on the way, the drive only took a little over ten minutes.

This time she didn’t take the public elevator on the first floor. Instead, she parked directly in the garage and took the CEO’s private elevator straight to the top floor.

Once she reached the top floor, nobody stopped her. She went smoothly, without obstruction, all the way to the CEO’s office.

She knocked lightly on the door, but no one inside responded.

Thinking that perhaps Lu Jihan was in a meeting right now, she tried turning the doorknob gently.

To her surprise, as soon as she turned it, the door opened.

She pushed the door and walked inside.

She had barely taken a few steps when she froze.

Lu Jihan wasn’t in the office; only Chi Wen was.

At that moment, Chi Wen was standing with her waist slightly bent in front of Lu Jihan’s desk, seemingly helping him organize the documents on the desk.

"It’s you? Where’s Jinhan? He’s not here?" Song Yinyin asked, glancing around the room, but didn’t see any sign of Lu Jihan.

"President Lu is still in a meeting."

Chi Wen said coolly, "May I ask, Madam President, do you have any important business with him?"

Her tone made it sound as if she were despising Song Yinyin for coming to see Lu Jihan when there was nothing serious.

Hearing this, a surge of nameless anger welled up in Song Yinyin’s chest.

"So I can’t come see him if it’s nothing important?" she shot back coldly.

She thought, I’m his wife, and also his partner—after he acquired CAA Talent Agency, I was the first young female pianist he officially signed.

Right now, Song Yinyin was like a hedgehog, every hair bristling, in a state of high alert as she faced her enemy.

Chi Wen gave a faint, mocking smile. "Even if you don’t have anything important, of course you can come see President Lu. However, he’s been very busy lately. If you keep coming to him so often, I’m afraid he won’t have the spare time and energy to take care of you."

The implied meaning was that her presence would distract Lu Jihan.

Flames instantly shot up in Song Yinyin’s heart and began to burn fiercely. If she weren’t forcing down her anger, her hair might have gone up in sparks.

"I know how to keep my private life separate from work. I won’t hold up his job!" She tightened her jaw and squeezed the words out.

Although she disliked this woman, Chi Wen, she had to admit that the woman’s work ability was genuinely admirable. When she worked, she was like a camel that never stopped.

It was obvious that she was perfectly at ease in the secretary role; if it were Song Yinyin in her place, she probably couldn’t manage such attention to every detail.

Aside from her, there seemed to be no one else who could help share Lu Jihan’s overloaded workload.

But it was precisely because of this that something felt off in Song Yinyin’s heart.

A woman who was pretty and could also help her husband with his work was a formidable opponent.

And because of that, she refused to just concede defeat.

With that thought, Song Yinyin walked over, carrying the coffee in her hand, and gently set the coffee cup and the dessert down on the desk.

When Lu Jihan came back later, he would see the pastries and the coffee on the desk at a glance.
