Sweet Time Only for You: The Entanglement between Mr. Lu and Miss Song
Chapter 930: This Is Him, Her Husband
Ten minutes later.
A faint, delicious smell drifted up from downstairs, reaching the second floor and making Song Yinyin itch to move.
Looks like her husband’s noodles were ready.
She got up and went downstairs.
The tall man had his sleeves rolled up and was busy in the kitchen.
Ladling the broth, lifting the noodles from the pot, adding lettuce leaves... a whole series of movements smooth as water, yet with an easy flair.
Looking at his broad back, it was hard to connect him with the man at the company in the daytime, the one who was decisive and commanding.
But this was him, her husband.
A man who cared about his family like this—how could he possibly be fooling around with a secretary like Chi Wen?
She couldn’t help feeling ashamed of her earlier behavior.
Chi Wen had just made one phone call, and she’d actually believed what she said.
How could she not have thought it through?
Song Yinyin couldn’t help muttering a curse under her breath, silently swearing at Chi Wen.
She thought that she had to look into that woman, find out who she was, what she was after, and what kind of thoughts she had about her husband.
But she couldn’t alarm the snake by hitting the grass.
After all, Chi Wen was currently Lu Jihan’s secretary.
It was very possible that Chi Wen knew some of the company’s secrets; if she pissed her off and made her do something harmful to the company, that would be bad.
Thinking of this, Song Yinyin settled her heart a little.
Her thoughts shifted, and she walked over, wrapping her arms around the man’s lean waist from behind, resting her cheek against his broad back.
"Hubby, your noodles smell so good."
She spoke from the bottom of her heart, with a bit of a playful, spoiled tone.
"You want to eat now?"
"Mm," Song Yinyin nodded, "my stomach is so, so hungry."
Lu Jihan spoke gently and lightly patted the back of her hand, soothing her, "Don’t worry, you’ll be eating in just a moment. There’s one last step."
Curious, Song Yinyin craned her head forward and found that he’d actually made two bowls of noodles.
"Why are there two bowls? I can’t eat that much."
Lu Jihan explained with a smile, "I didn’t really eat at the reception either. I’ll eat with you."
So he hadn’t eaten much either.
Thinking about it, that made sense; most people at those receptions were there just to socialize, who would really eat?
Besides, facing all those fawning, fake faces, how could anyone have an appetite?
Lu Jihan had already finished the noodles; he drizzled a bit of sesame oil, sprinkled some chopped scallions, and laid the fried egg on top.
"Here, try it."
He handed the steaming, fragrant bowl of egg noodles to Song Yinyin.
Song Yinyin leaned in to smell it, her eyes widening in amazement, and she generously gave him face: "Wow, it smells amazing."
"Hurry and eat it while it’s hot, or the noodles will get mushy."
"Mm."
Song Yinyin nodded and started wolfing it down.
In fact, normally Song Yinyin didn’t really like flour-based foods. She didn’t know if it was because of the pregnancy, but her tastes had changed lately.
Or maybe it was because Lu Jihan’s cooking skills were just too good, and this bowl of noodles was too fragrant and too delicious. Very quickly, Song Yinyin finished the entire bowl, not leaving a single strand.
She wiped her mouth and looked up to see that the noodles in Lu Jihan’s bowl were only half eaten.
"How come you’ve eaten so little?"
Lu Jihan glanced up at Song Yinyin and saw that there was still a bit of noodle at the corner of her mouth. He couldn’t help but chuckle, "Look at you, eating like a little kitten, even messier than our son."
Feeling embarrassed, Song Yinyin stuck out her little red tongue.
Lu Jihan reached for a tissue and wiped the corner of her mouth, just like he was taking care of a child.
