The housekeeper was puzzled: no matter how tired he was before, the young master’s spirit was always good. What happened today? Is he sick?

"Young master, are you okay?"

The housekeeper’s voice suddenly sounded behind him. Lu Jihan suppressed the sharp pain and immediately replied, "I’m fine. You should get some rest early too."

Returning to the bedroom door, he breathed a sigh of relief. The numb and sharp pain in his body had subsided quite a bit.

He inhaled deeply while reaching up to wipe the cold sweat from his forehead.

Even the housekeeper noticed something was off about him. Song Yinyin, being the person who knows him best, would easily recognize his discomfort.

He didn’t want Song Yinyin to worry.

After a full two minutes, Lu Jihan finally regained his composure. He took a deep breath, gently pushed open the bedroom door, and walked in.

Song Yinyin slightly opened her drowsy eyes and saw Lu Jihan walking in slowly.

"You’re finally back. I was wondering why you hadn’t returned yet. I was just about to go out and see what you were doing."

"You can’t live without me?" He joked with a smile.

"Not at all!"

Song Yinyin playfully retorted, raising her hand to lightly punch his chest.

Heaven knows how tormenting the suppressed pain within him was. Now, with an unexpected punch, the pain surged back.

He had no choice but to endure, tugging at the corner of his mouth, saying:

"I was just getting you some water, making sure it’s not too hot or too cold, just the right temperature."

Upon hearing his words, Song Yinyin felt warmth in her heart.

"Give it to me."

She took the cup of water Lu Jihan handed over. The temperature was just right, neither too hot nor too cool, perfect for drinking.

Song Yinyin noticed he had changed to a different cup, which made her pause: "By the way, I think I heard something shatter earlier?"

"Yeah, I accidentally broke it."

"Did you hurt yourself anywhere?"

Song Yinyin asked urgently, grabbing his large hand to check it over.

"I’m fine, just a shame about the nice cup."

"How could you be so clumsy like giving away Big White? So clumsy and careless," Song Yinyin laughed, raising her hand to poke his chest with her finger.

Lu Jihan smoothly grasped her small hand, lightly sucking it with his mouth. Song Yinyin shyly withdrew her hand, her face blushing.

"Thank you, hubby."

Lu Jihan’s gaze shifted, his eyes dimming: "Is this how you thank me?"

"Uh..."

Song Yinyin hadn’t quite reacted, and Lu Jihan suddenly curved his lips, leaned down, and kissed her lips.

At first, he kissed slowly and gently, but soon he couldn’t stop.

Partly because her sweetness was so wonderful, partly because once he connected with her lips, touched her warm body, it seemed like the pain inside him eased quite a bit.

He didn’t have time to think too much; driven by instinct, he kissed deeply, kissing and kissing...

The next day, early morning.

Song Yinyin opened her sleepy eyes and felt very tired.

Outside the window, there was no sunshine yet; the sky was somewhat gloomy.

She turned her head to see Lu Jihan still asleep beside her. Watching him in his peaceful sleep, devoid of all radiance and as cute as a child, her eyes softened.

Gently and carefully, making sure not to disturb Lu Jihan, she slipped out of his embrace.

This man always liked to hold her until dawn, just like last night. When she woke up in the middle of the night and slipped out of his embrace, after a while, his hand would habitually reach out.

Feeling her presence, he would instinctively pull her back into his arms, as if he were extremely anxious without her there.
