Chapter 2842 Falling Out in Anger

  • Next Chapter

"What on earth are you talking about?" Ning Chenguang couldn’t help but laugh. He stepped forward, wanting to pat her head and tell her that he had always liked her, especially when she was being a little unreasonable and stubborn. He wanted to assure her not to worry and to focus on her studies, promising to take care of things.

But, the next second, he couldn’t laugh anymore.

He saw He Yue head down, messing with his phone, pressing buttons randomly. He quickly stepped forward to stop her, but He Yue dodged left and right, refusing to give it up.

In their tug of war, the phone accidentally flew out, falling with a thud next to the front entrance’s drainage.

He Yue froze, quickly glancing at Ning Chenguang. Seeing his darkened expression, she realized she might have gone too far.

She hadn’t meant to do it; it was a sudden impulse in a fit of anger, making her do something out of line.

"Sorry... I’m so sorry!" He Yue hurriedly ran over to pick up the phone, but to her surprise, Ning Chenguang also moved over, and they accidentally bumped into each other while reaching for it.

He Yue, being slight and fragile, almost got knocked over. She clutched her painfully bumped head, looking down to search for the phone. That was when she realized it had somehow been kicked far away by them.

It’s over...

Isn’t he going to be even angrier now?

Just as she was about to go pick it up, she saw a car driving over from afar and heard a crackling sound in the darkness; the phone was completely shattered.

It’s done for... It’s really done for!

Ten minutes later, Ning Chenguang went upstairs with a face full of anger.

His phone was completely destroyed, and not just the phone— even the SIM card was ruined.

All his contacts were completely gone.

An Hao was watching TV in the living room. Seeing her son storm upstairs angrily, she quickly turned her head to ask him, "What’s going on? Where’s Yueyue?"

"You ask her." He grumbled, leaving the words behind as he disappeared at the top of the stairs.

In less than a minute, He Yue also came in, her eyes red and swollen, evidently from recent crying.

Ning Chenguang had completely stopped paying attention to her.

She had just intended to delete all the girls’ names from his contacts, but accidentally ended up deleting her own.

But she hadn’t planned to break his phone...

"What happened with you two?" Seeing the state of the two, An Hao knew they must have had a fight. "Did he bully you?"

"No."

"Then what’s going on?" An Hao asked, slightly exasperated.

"You ask him."

Again, the same response. An Hao felt both amused and frustrated, thinking they were probably just having a tiff. She wasn’t too worried, thinking they’d be back to being inseparable soon enough.

However, this time, things really didn’t go as she expected.

..................

This National Day holiday, He Yue was anything but happy.

After arguing with Ning Chenguang, the next day, Ning Chenguang left without a word.

She only found out from An Hao that Ning Chenguang had left with Yan Ye. As for where he went, He Yue was unclear, only knowing he was dealing with patients and research projects.

On the first day back to school, the sky was overcast, with fine rain drizzling down all day. By evening, instead of letting up, it seemed to be intensifying.

An Hao happened to have an emergency surgery that night. She didn’t have time to send an umbrella to He Yue, so she sent a message telling He Yue to buy an umbrella and take a taxi home.
