Chapter 2835 - 2828: Romantic Brother

These were the clothes Ning Chenguang had taken off but hadn’t had time to wash. Since He Yue was free anyway, she simply picked up the washbasin and went to the washroom to wash his clothes for him.

First, she could help him with something and save his time for washing. Second, it just so happened she could ease the awkward atmosphere a little.

While He Yue was off doing the laundry, a few of the boys in the dorm started whispering among themselves.

"No way, the campus hunk is such a beast? He actually has his eye on a high schooler!"

"What beast or not beast... You’re already twenty-four or twenty-five, but she skipped a grade to get in. In terms of age she’s only eighteen, that’s really not that big a gap! If he went after one of the girls in our university, that’d be the real problem! If there’s a younger, prettier one around, who’d want an older one?"

While the two of them were gossiping, the guy who’d taken the call felt a bit puzzled: "That’s not right! Last time I saw them they weren’t like this at all! That girl gave off a completely different feeling from the one we’re seeing now!"

"You sure you weren’t seeing things?"

"No way, right? Even if my eyes were bad, I wouldn’t mix up two totally different people, would I?"

"Oh, cut it out. With those eyes of yours, you can barely even tell men and women apart!"

"Hahaha!" Everyone burst into laughter right away.

While the group in the dorm was still in an uproar, Ning Chenguang appeared at the doorway of the dorm.

"Chenguang, your wife’s here!" The roommates all started heckling. They usually got along well, so when they joked around, none of them bothered watching their mouths.

Ning Chenguang was stunned. "My wife? What kind of joke is that!"

"We’re not joking! Where the hell have you been? She’s been here for ages already, washing your clothes, scrubbing your shoes, and you only just got back?"

This time they really left Ning Chenguang completely baffled.

"Who is it exactly?" he asked.

"Just go take a look in the washroom and you’ll know."

Ning Chenguang turned and headed out, but he hadn’t expected to run right into He Yue, who was coming back carrying a washbasin full of clothes, with a pair of his running shoes dangling from her hand.

"Yueyue? How come it’s you?" He was pleasantly surprised, but at the same time a little uneasy.

With those roommates of his running their mouths like that, who knew what He Yue would think when she heard them? She’d suddenly shown up this time—would she just come running over again next time too?

His grades had only just begun to improve; his mother had even called specifically to tell him to keep a lid on things and wait until after He Yue’s exams to talk.

He had been holding back, working hard to keep a certain distance from Yueyue.

But if Yueyue wasn’t going to control herself, what was he supposed to do?

"Chenguang, I came over to see you! I was thinking, isn’t tomorrow National Day? I wanted to go home with you!" He Yue hadn’t seen her little big brother for over a month. Now that she saw him, her heart was full of joy, her little face flushed hot and pink.

Hearing this form of address, Ning Chenguang frowned slightly. "Why are you calling me by my name? Why aren’t you calling me little big brother anymore?"

"I don’t want to! From now on, I just want to call you Chenguang..." He Yue said with a smile.

"Call me little big brother."

"Chenguang!"

"Oh man, that’s gotta be her love-interest brother!" The guys in the dorm chimed in again.

"Don’t talk nonsense!" Ning Chenguang was worried He Yue’s mind would shift toward him, leaving her no headspace for studying—that would be trouble.

"Something’s off!" At this moment, the guy who’d taken the phone call spoke up. "I remember, she didn’t call you little big brother back then. She clearly called you Chenguang! The way you two were with each other didn’t feel the same as now at all!"

Just as he finished speaking, a girl’s voice drifted in from the hallway, gentle as water: "Chenguang! Are you all ready?"
