"Yes!"

Ning Chenyang glanced around and saw Luo Tong standing by a charming little table next to the glass railing on the second floor. She was smiling as she leisurely sipped her coffee.

When she noticed Ning Chenyang’s gaze, she elegantly raised her teacup and waved it at him as a greeting.

Ning Chenyang nodded.

"Who is she?" Tian Nan looked up and saw Luo Tong. Her impression soured upon seeing Luo Tong’s wavy black hair, tight-fitting black dress, fair thighs, and the bright red nail polish on her fingers. "I don’t like her!"

"She’s Luo Tong," Ning Chenyang said. "Once a classmate... now, not quite a friend, not quite an enemy."

"Then stay away from her! She doesn’t seem like a good woman!" Tian Nan wrinkled her nose.

"Yo, the little bunny can actually dislike someone at first sight! Not easy!" Ning Chenyang joked, glancing at Tian Nan’s wrist to check the time. "It’s getting late, you should head to school. I’ll take you!"

"Forget it, just go straight to the train station! I’m afraid you might be late and miss your train!" Tian Nan was thoughtful and considerate of him.

"I’m not comfortable with you crossing the street!"

"What’s there to be uncomfortable about? When you were ten, you left me alone to cross the street to take a bus just to race Wang Xiaohu on who could bike home first!" Ning Chenyang’s actions are etched clearly in her memory.

"Did I do that?" Ning Chenyang pretended not to remember.

"Hmph, too lazy to expose you!"

"I’ll never do it again. Nannan, don’t worry!"

"Why are you so obedient now? So gentle?" This isn’t like Chenyang!

"Don’t you understand why I’m so obedient?" Ning Chenyang winked at her, making Tian Nan’s heart race and her cheeks flush slightly.

Yet, she’s afraid she might be overthinking it.

When they were young, this guy loved to tease her!

"Nannan, you need to grow up quickly!" Ning Chenyang hinted.

Downstairs, his gentle words completely ignored Luo Tong.

The coffee she was drinking no longer tasted rich and aromatic, but bitter and sour.

Fortunately, their conversation didn’t last long. The young girl named Tian Nan left quickly, and after Ning Chenyang saw her off, he returned upstairs directly, sitting opposite Luo Tong.

She had seen Ning Chenyang a few times, but this was the first time she saw him not wearing military or hospital attire.

Dressed in casual clothes, he looked neat and strikingly handsome, resembling a walking sculpture radiating hormones everywhere.

Luo Tong’s gaze intensified, showing a hint of infatuation. However, she controlled it well, fearing Ning Chenyang might notice.

"You’re the manager of this restaurant? That’s something!" Ning Chenyang said.

"Just so-so. Why didn’t you notify in advance when you were discharged?" When she went, the ward was already empty.

"It’s just being discharged, not worth a fuss!" Ning Chenyang said, pulling out his wallet to take out a wad of cash. "This is for today’s meal; I can’t let you pay for me!"

"Consider it my treat," Luo Tong refused. "Didn’t you say we’re friends? Friends having meals don’t usually pay. You can invite me next time!"

"You don’t hate me anymore?" Ning Chenyang casually asked.

"One thing at a time!" She can’t help but feel waves of resentment when she sees him with other women, yet facing him alone, she can’t muster any hatred.
