Chapter 2794 - 2787: Deception

Professor Zhou is not home, so she made a trip for nothing.

She wandered around the lower floors of the faculty housing, waiting for Ning Chenguang, who was nowhere to be seen.

Feeling embarrassed to press him, she decided to wander around the campus, treating it like she was cooling off by herself.

When Zhang Xiche passed by the school’s experimental building, she encountered two girls who were pulling and dragging each other, with one being dragged along.

"I’m not going! I’m not going! I’d rather fail this class and not go." A short girl struggled to back away, as if avoiding something.

"You must go! If you’re scared, I’ll go with you, okay?" the other girl said.

"I don’t care who accompanies me. Just let me go, alright! I’m terrified to insanity!"

"You’ll get used to it after a few scares."

Zhang Xiche watched the two girls feeling perplexed; what kind of class would scare them this much?

After thinking it over, what else could scare them like this besides an anatomy class?

"I’m not going. Just let me fail the class then."

"Look at you, being as timid as a mouse. If you don’t have the guts, why are you studying clinical medicine? You must pass this hurdle. Otherwise, how will you become a doctor?"

"There can’t be such a creepy teacher, though. Making me dissect someone late at night is trying to scare me to death..."

"It’s not a living person, what are you afraid of? Let’s go!"

Zhang Xiche watched as the timid girl, eyes filled with tears, was dragged away. What seemed like an ordinary thing to her turned out to be terrifying in someone else’s eyes.

While feeling bored, an idea suddenly popped into her head.

She then took out her phone and dialed Ning Chenguang directly.

"When are you leaving?"

Ning Chenguang, deep in discussion, received Zhang Xiche’s call, thinking Zhang Xiche was rushing him to leave, he said, "It’ll take a while here before my discussion finishes. It’ll be at least an hour or two. If you’re in a hurry, you can leave first, it’s not too late, so safety shouldn’t be an issue."

"No, that’s not what I meant. I’m discussing things with Professor Zhou as well, and it might take a while. I thought I’d let you know when calling. Since you can’t leave early either, let’s go back together." Zhang Xiche casually made up a lie.

After hanging up, Zhang Xiche then called the Ning Family directly.

He Yue was doing homework upstairs when she heard the phone downstairs ringing non-stop, so she went down to answer it.

"Hello, who is this?"

"He Yue, it’s me! Zhang Xiche!"

"Anything wrong?" He Yue felt a bit puzzled, wondering why Zhang Xiche would call her.

"Yes! Come over, um, help Ning Chenguang bring some things, check his bookshelf for any notebooks?" Zhang Xiche said.

"Oh, okay." He Yue, thinking Ning Chenguang needed them, hung up the phone and went upstairs. She stood in front of the bookshelf and found two notebooks, then ran downstairs to call back and asked, "Which one does he need? There are two here."

"Bring them both!" Zhang Xiche said casually.

"Alright."

"Come quickly! Ning Chenguang needs them as soon as possible!"

He Yue was about to hang up when she suddenly thought it was odd that Ning Chenguang, who disliked bothering others, would ask her to bring notebooks out of the blue?

"Wait a minute!" He Yue said.
