Surviving the Infinite Survival Game by Exploiting Glitches
Chapter 229: A Love-Obsessed Person, 99% New
After thinking for a moment, Crocodile Lan mustered his courage and asked, “Miss Shu Nan, do you like Aino?”
Lin Yun: “???”
What the heck? What was this person saying?
When Crocodile Lan saw Lin Yun looking shocked, he automatically interpreted it as shock at being seen through. He pursed his lips, feeling even more heartbroken. Aino was indeed outstanding among the elves. Although he was the eldest son of the Crocodile Clan, he had an older brother who would become the clan leader in the future, and he himself was nothing to the clan. The hand hidden at his side suddenly clenched. Perhaps someone as incompetent as him would never be liked.
He looked at Lin Yun for a long time before finally making a decision.
“Since Miss Shu Nan likes Aino, I’ll help you!”
Lin Yun: “?” She did not understand, but she was greatly shocked. She could tell that the person in front of her liked the original owner of her current identity, but was that right? She was not the original owner of this body either. Help! This was terrifying! Even with unrequited love, he was willing to help the other person pursue someone else just to make her happy.
Lin Yun had a headache. After thinking for a moment, she could only say in a harsh voice, “Get out of here and mind your own business.”
Crocodile Lan hesitated, still unwilling to anger Miss Shu Nan. “All right, but I will definitely help you. Miss Shu Nan, I hope you can be happy.”
With that, Crocodile Lan walked away, looking back every three steps.
Lin Yun was speechless. She realized she had run into this kind of thing in a survival world too: someone obsessed with love. A nearly new, love-obsessed character, going for 5 gold coins. She turned her attention back to the direction of Aino’s house.
Aiyi had just knocked on the door and gone in. Lin Yun did not know why she was there, but she was certain Aino was still at home. That put her at ease, but now she needed to find a place to squat for a while. Not long after, Aiyi came out of Aino’s house and left quickly. As Aiyi passed by, Lin Yun paused, then moved a little closer to Aino’s house.
But how could she hide around here without being discovered?
“Youyou, there’s a big tree over there. You can make a space in it with the little vine and stay inside. From there you can see whether Aino has left.”
After searching the area, Sang Biao had come back and tugged at Lin Yun’s trouser leg to tell her what he had found. The tree he had found was planted by the roadside. Its branches were lush, and with the Ghost Vine covering it, it would be hard to see anything from a distance.
Lin Yun looked in the direction he pointed and found that the place was indeed good. “Okay. Let’s see if there’s anyone nearby. If not, let’s go over there. Xiaoteng, please go up that tree first.”
[Okay!]
The Ghost Vine detached from Lin Yun’s wrist, rolled into a ball, and huffed and puffed as it rolled toward the tree. Seeing this, Lin Yun’s lips twitched. She would grab it and give it a good beating when they got back. Sang Biao had already run off to stand guard.
Lin Yun did not linger. Taking advantage of the fact that no one was around, she quickly climbed up the tree. The Ghost Vine had already made a small hemisphere on the tree, and Lin Yun could sit directly inside it. It was hollow, with enough space to crawl into, and it let her observe the outside. After settling into the vine ball, Lin Yun stared toward Aino’s house.
She suddenly sighed. Why did it seem like the bad guys were spying on the good guys? Damn it, did she have it easy?
At that moment, Aino was busy in the yard, watering her flowers. She paused in her watering, as if she sensed a gaze spying on her. However, she could tell that the other party meant her no harm. What was this person trying to do? Aino did not understand. She did not necessarily want to investigate to the end. She had things to do that night and could not afford to waste her energy on other matters. After watering the plants, Aino went back into the house and lay down to rest in her room.
Sang Biao came over at this moment, followed by a little calico kitten.
Lin Yun: “?”
“Your girlfriend?”
Sang Biao: “?”
“Natives!” Sang Biao complained. “If it insists on following me, what can I do? Do I dare chase it away? If I do, it’ll cry. Who would dare do that!”
Sang Biao was in despair. Unfortunately, this little calico was not a mythical beast of this world. It was just an ordinary kitten. It had meowed as soon as it saw him and followed him. After being scolded a couple of times, it looked pitiful and started crying. It could not run away, and good heavens, why was it the cat taking care of kittens again?
“Wow, Mimi, you’re doomed! You’ve been latched onto!”
Lin Yun watched with detached amusement, which infuriated Sang Biao so much that he gritted his teeth and bit her hand.
“What? I’m not a teething toy, and you’re not a baby who needs to chew anymore. Let go!”
Sang Biao rubbed his teeth against Lin Yun’s skin, grunted twice, and let go.
The little calico looked at them pitifully, as if she wanted to come in but did not dare. Lin Yun sighed. “What am I going to do? I’ve been scammed by that little rascal.” Since the kitten had already followed him, Lin Yun did not chase her away and beckoned her in.
Little Calico hesitated for a moment, then stepped in tentatively. Seeing that they did not reject her, she happily ran in and rubbed obediently against Lin Yun’s leg, her voice sweet and adorable. Sang Biao lay sprawled to one side. He really was a little brat.
Lin Yun patted Little Calico, took out a portion of pet food, and poured some into her hand, wondering whether the little calico knew its value. Little Calico was very accommodating, keeping her head down and eating heartily.
Soon it got dark.
Aino woke up in her room, tidied her things, ate something, and then stayed on the first floor. It was still early, so there was no rush to go out. At eight o’clock, Aino turned off the lights in the house and waited for news from the others.
As eight o’clock approached, Lin Yun became vigilant. She was not in a house right now, so she had to keep an eye on her surroundings to avoid a monster suddenly appearing out of nowhere. After the surrounding lights went out, she soon heard some footsteps. The monsters had appeared, right on time.
The Ghost Vine quietly wrapped itself around the hollow vine ball, leaving Lin Yun with another window to observe the outside world. Perhaps because the space where Lin Yun was hiding was small, the monsters did not discover her. An hour passed, and several monsters walked past under the tree, but none of them noticed Lin Yun’s whereabouts.
It seemed that any space would do?
Boom!
There was an explosion somewhere, and the sound was very loud and carried far. Her tree was quite tall. After hearing the sound, Sang Biao went out and climbed to the top of the tree. He looked around but could not find where the incident had happened. He had no choice but to climb back into the hollow vine ball.
“I couldn’t find out where it happened,” Sang Biao said.
