But the humans did not believe it. They said that the two humans who had gone to the trade fair were handpicked and would never clash with other races. The other party must have started it first, leaving them no choice but to retaliate. They had never expected the other party to actually resort to violence and kill them.

Later, no one knew how the matter was handled, but the other races all thought the humans were lying and refused to believe them. They all believed that the two dead humans had insulted the others first.

The races that had attacked the humans began to hate them and frequently tried to sabotage them. Influenced by those races, many others gradually came to dislike humans, yet they still preferred human-made items, which put them in a dilemma. Some races still maintained a neutral stance.

After that, however, the human race never went to the trade fair again and gradually faded from the other races’ view. Humans occasionally traveled to other continents, but not as often as before. Because they feared encountering unreasonable races and dying mysteriously in a foreign land, they always dressed themselves up very carefully whenever they went out.

...

Miss Rabbit sighed. "Well, I heard this from my father, but I don’t know whether it’s true or not. Still, I think there’s no need to exclude humans. A few humans had a conflict with those races, and now everyone is being condemned. I don’t understand what they’re thinking."

After listening, Lin Yun did not know what to say. But she remembered the name of this peculiar world: Fairy Tale/Monster.

The humans had said that all the other races were monsters? And the races that killed the humans had said that the humans insulted them first, which was why they retaliated? What did fairy tales represent? And what did monsters represent?

She felt there must be some connection between the other races and monsters. Otherwise, humans would not have called the other races monsters and stopped associating with them. Lin Yun thought it over carefully. She felt that the two humans must have discovered something, which was why they had been killed. But it was hard to say. Miss Rabbit had heard this story from her father, and she had omitted some details when relaying it. Lin Yun still needed to hear other perspectives.

"Oh dear, I’m hungry. Let’s eat and talk!" Miss Rabbit rubbed her stomach and invited Lin Yun to eat first.

Lin Yun got up and went to the dining table with Miss Rabbit. Then, looking at the table full of radish dishes, she fell silent.

Boiled carrots, carrot leaf salad, various kinds of shredded carrots, and carrots as an after-meal treat.

"Hehe, I really like eating carrots~ and we grow a lot of carrots at home."

Miss Rabbit scratched her head sheepishly, realizing she had forgotten that not every race loved carrots.

Lin Yun shook her head helplessly. "It’s okay."

Fortunately, the carrots Miss Rabbit grew were quite delicious, and they successfully finished the carrot feast.

At the dinner table, Miss Rabbit talked about the Western Continent in fits and starts. Lin Yun also learned that three of the races that had killed the two humans lived in Monster City, next to the Fairy Tale Forest. Aside from the human race on the Eastern Continent, among the races of the other three continents, Monster City hated humans the most and even killed them.

"I’m a little curious. Why is it called Monster City?" Lin Yun could not help asking.

Miss Rabbit was taken aback by the question. She had never thought about it before. Yet the question did not seem wrong. She did not know why Monster City was called Monster City, and it seemed that no one had ever thought there was anything wrong with the name.

"I don’t know either. For as long as I can remember, Monster City has been called Monster City," Miss Rabbit said shyly, scratching her head.

Lin Yun did not press the matter and changed the subject. "How many races killed humans back then? And where are the others?"

"Hmm... The three from Monster City are the Giant Rat, the Headed Crocodile, and the Hyena, and the other two are the Blood Moth and the Corpse Butterfly. However, the Corpse Butterflies have been wiped out. They originally lived on Corpse Island, but for some reason, that island suddenly sank. Without a place to live, they gradually became extinct."

"As for the Blood Moth... let me think... they seem to be in a forest on the Northern Continent. Since that incident, though, they haven’t had much contact with other continents, and they have even become enemies with Monster City. I don’t know the specific reason."

Miss Rabbit scooped up a handful of carrot shreds and stuffed them into her mouth, chewing as she spoke. "If you can, don’t play with those three races from Monster City. They’re a bit fierce."

Upon hearing this, Lin Yun nodded and made a mental note of it.

After dinner, Miss Tu Bei warmly invited Lin Yun to stay at her place for the night. There were hotels near the roundabout, but they were not cheap, costing 5 gold coins per night. More importantly, the hotel at the roundabout was run by a giant rat from Monster City.

Lin Yun did not refuse Miss Tu Bei’s kindness and moved in, which made Miss Tu Bei extremely happy.

Miss Rabbit enthusiastically brought out a new quilt and a carrot plush pillow from the storage room. She said the pillow was for Lin Yun, and that she should remember to take it with her.

Lin Yun was somewhat overwhelmed by Miss Rabbit’s enthusiasm and had no choice but to accept the carrot pillow. She also gave Miss Rabbit some vegetables she had grown, which Miss Rabbit liked very much.

Miss Rabbit had just finished tidying the room and was about to leave when she suddenly stopped and said, "Miss Lu You, I’m sure your parents have told you before: never leave the house at night."

Lin Yun paused for a moment, then nodded as soon as she realized what Miss Rabbit meant. "I know. I won’t leave the house."

"Just remember that. Once you’ve settled into your accommodation, please don’t go out at night."

Miss Rabbit seemed to breathe a sigh of relief, and then gave the newly adult sika deer a few more instructions. Seeing that Lin Yun agreed obediently once again, Miss Rabbit waved with a smile. "Good night, then~ See you tomorrow!"

Good night. See you tomorrow.

Lin Yun closed the door and went to the window.

The moon was already hanging in the night sky, and the world outside was pitch black, with light coming only from the houses. The streetlights had long been turned off.

She opened her personal panel and glanced at the time. It would be eight o’clock in ten minutes.

Couldn’t go out at night? So, was it dangerous to go out at night? She decided to look out the window and see what dangers might lurk there.

7:59.

Knock, knock, knock.

"Miss Lu You, it’s time to turn off the lights and go to sleep."
