Chapter 99: Chapter 99: D-level Blueprint

The Sunflower probably didn’t want to, but its instinct to seek light had already compelled it to turn its face toward sunshine.

Seraphina Sinclair didn’t leave. As the Sunflower basked in the light, she reached out and gave the little creature another good rub.

It no longer had the energy to resist, focused instead on enjoying the light.

Seraphina Sinclair seized the opportunity to give it a thorough rubbing before contentedly finding a nice patch of floor to sit on.

That’s right.

Even though she now had proper things to sit on, Seraphina Sinclair still liked the feeling of picking out a spot on the floor.

It was a sense of satisfaction born from abundance.

After sitting down, she planned to sort through the orders for her Fire Drawing Runes.

She had spent hours drawing them last night, and today, she could finally fulfill the orders.

But as soon as she opened her private messages, Seraphina Sinclair noticed that the group chat was blowing up.

Curious, she opened the group chat first. A quick scroll up was all it took for Seraphina Sinclair to understand the reason for the commotion.

[Nightingale]: Got something good.

"??? Seriously? If you’re going to come here to show off, can you at least be more specific?"

"What did you get? Just say it!"

"Exactly! Be clear! Don’t leave us hanging! Even though I’m not the one who got lucky, I’m still curious..."

"Same here!"

[Nightingale]: I have enough materials. I’ll tell you after I make it!

"Great, now I’m even more curious."

"Judging by his description, I’m guessing it’s a blueprint. What kind of blueprint would make even that guy so eager to show off?"

"Yeah, we’ve been group members for a few days. I thought Nightingale was always so composed?"

’Composed?’

Seraphina Sinclair didn’t say anything, but she was also getting curious about what the blueprint was.

The group was still in a heated discussion, but Nightingale didn’t say another word.

Everyone guessed he was gathering materials, and as expected, they were right.

After a good while, he finally popped up again.

[Nightingale]: Got the materials. All right, I won’t keep you in suspense. I got a D-level blueprint!

"What is it?"

"A D-level blueprint?!!"

"Holy shit! Wait! A D-level blueprint has to come from a D-level Supply Box, right? How did you get a D-level Supply Box?!"

’That’s right!’

Seraphina Sinclair perked up, her pupils dilating slightly.

She had seen a B-level box before, but she had never seen a D-level one.

She had always thought her own progress was fast enough, but she hadn’t expected someone was already able to get D-level Supply Boxes.

’There’s always someone better out there.’

’Er...’

’Then again, that’s not quite right.’

After all, she was holding a B-level blueprint. When it came to being ahead, she was definitely still in the lead.

But she was genuinely curious how Nightingale had gotten his hands on a D-level Supply Box.

Obtaining one from a special area and obtaining one from a Black Fog Influx were two completely different concepts.

Plenty of people in the group were also asking.

"@Nightingale, where did you get the D-level Supply Box from?"

"@Nightingale, we’re practically bonded by life and death here, there’s no need to hide things like this, right? If worse comes to worst, we’ll just give you supplies for it!"

"Come on! Sound off if you’re willing to trade supplies for information!"

"1"

"2"

...

While they were still counting off, Nightingale suddenly sent a message.

[Nightingale]: Stop counting. I never saw a D-level Supply Box. If you really want to buy the info, I’ll have to make something up for you.

Now Seraphina Sinclair was even more confused.

’What does he mean?’

She had seen D-level items come out of a B-level Supply Box, but she had never seen something of a higher level come out of a lower-level box, like an E-level or F-level one.

The others didn’t believe him, of course.

But Nightingale produced some pretty solid evidence.

[Nightingale]: Coincidentally, I have a habit of recording things. I record a video before opening every E-level Supply Box, and this one was no exception. You can ignore the first part.

He then posted a video.

Wanting to see the proof for herself, Seraphina Sinclair opened the video.

As soon as she opened it, she saw a guy with a messy mop of hair like a bird’s nest, his eyes not even open yet.

He first raised a hand to rub his eyes, then said with them still closed, "Welcome everyone to ’A Day in the Life of a Male College Student in the Black Fog,’ I’m your host, Nightingale. Yes, that Nightingale, the big-time influencer with ten whole fans on a certain video platform."

Seraphina Sinclair: "..."

’Is he just messing with himself?’

The group chat was also filled with jeers.

"Bro, you’ve really got a sense of humor."

"Hahahaha, did you really have to make a point of mentioning your ten fans? You’re a riot."

"No, but seriously, dude, isn’t that opening a little too ceremonial? You’re still filming vlogs in here?"

"Isn’t the real point that he’s recording with bedhead and his eyes closed? Talk about dedication."

"I’m getting antsy! I’m the king of impatience over here! Can we just fast-forward? I want to see you get the blueprint!"

"Judging by the video length, how long were you filming, man? Did you really start from the moment you woke up?"

[Nightingale]: Stop rushing me, seriously. I opened my eyes, and it was already eight. I didn’t move yesterday, so I moved as soon as I woke up today. If I could edit, I’d have just sent the unboxing part. Seeing my face costs extra! You all owe me 1000 Black Fog Coins now.

Seraphina Sinclair: "..."

’So this is what they call ’composed’?’

Suddenly, she wasn’t all that excited to see the blueprint anymore. No matter how she looked at it, this guy didn’t seem reliable at all.

Seraphina Sinclair shook her head and went back to her private messages to take care of her business.

She picked a few straightforward orders, sent three Fire Drawing Runes to the respective buyers, and after completing a few trades, the group finally witnessed the scene of a D-level blueprint coming out of an E-level Supply Box.

Seraphina Sinclair opened the group chat again, looking at the new screen recordings people had posted.

During his first Black Fog Influx, Nightingale had encountered an E-level monster. Watching someone else’s first-person view of a fight was a bit dizzying, but it didn’t stop Seraphina Sinclair from seeing clearly that the monster dropped an E-level Supply Box, and from it, he unboxed a D-level blueprint.

’How incredible.’

’Was something like that really possible?’

The people in the group were all clamoring for Nightingale to post the blueprint’s details.

Meanwhile, Nightingale seemed to have just attempted to craft the item.

[Nightingale]: What the hell! What is this?

He posted a screenshot of a panel that showed only a single prompt.

[Advanced Blueprints (D-level and higher) require a workbench to craft!]

’It needs a what?’

Seraphina Sinclair hadn’t expected a workbench to have such a function. What’s more, this prompt only appeared after you had gathered all the materials and were about to start crafting.

And while she had an advanced blueprint, she couldn’t gather the materials for it at all, so naturally, she had never seen this prompt.

She had always wanted to build a workbench. First, because it was fully automated. Second, because missing materials could be substituted with Black Fog Coins.

The latter was a massive draw for her.

For something like the Water Dragon Roar, which required materials she had never even heard of, it would be fantastic if she could just use Black Fog Coins instead.

This was the first time anyone in the group had heard this news. The chat instantly exploded, with messages flooding the screen like a waterfall.
