Survive in the Black Mist: My Sunflower Can Navigate
Chapter 79: The Best Service
Chapter 79: Chapter 79: The Best Service
One fish... Fine.
Seraphina Sinclair had offered her most plentiful item, Blackmist Silverfish, and in return, the other party had directly sent over 90 Fusion Crystals.
[Miller’s Hardware]: I still feel like I’m taking advantage of you... You should take more, Boss. I’ll just keep 10 to see what they do.
Seraphina accepted without fuss. After the trade was complete, the items appeared before her.
The Fusion Crystals were made of two colors, half white and half black, looking just like two things fused together. The name was certainly fitting.
Seraphina now needed three Essence Crystals. She had enough Fusion Crystals, but she had no way of finding the other two materials for the time being.
And even if she gathered the Essence Crystals, there were still other materials she needed.
She sighed softly, then comforted herself in a low voice, "At least it’s a step forward."
With that trade handled, Seraphina finally received her first private message about purchasing the BOSS information.
"Boss, can I trade E-level materials for the BOSS information? It’s this, Black Fog Crystals. I can offer two of them."
Oh...
Speak of the devil.
Seraphina had just been wondering where she could get her hands on this stuff.
Two was fine, but it was a bit low.
The information Seraphina held wasn’t just about survival—though the ability to survive was already invaluable.
After killing the BOSS, there were also rewards to be had.
That pushed the value of her information up to a whole new level.
If the other party couldn’t offer something that tempted Seraphina, it was also indirect proof that he probably wasn’t fated to encounter the BOSS anyway.
But Seraphina wasn’t charitable enough to proactively remind him of that.
’Accurately judging one’s own strength and that of others is a skill that has to be learned. And if it’s a lesson, there’s tuition to be paid. What difference does it make who collects the fee? How could Seraphina refuse when it was delivered right to her door?’
Her fingertips tapped lightly as she mulled over her reply. "E-level materials are indeed useful, but two Black Fog Crystals for BOSS intel... you might be underestimating the value of my information."
Seraphina paused for a few seconds, kindly giving the other person time to think before adding, "The kill rewards are quite good. If you really do run into the BOSS, the choice you’re making now will absolutely be worth it."
His reply came back almost instantly. "Boss, can you tell me what the specific rewards are?"
As much as Seraphina wanted to make the deal, she wasn’t so desperate that she’d let this person get information for free.
"That’s a separate price," she typed.
That sentence seemed to douse a good deal of his enthusiasm, but he quickly rallied his spirits.
"Boss, if I want to trade for the specific BOSS intel, plus information on the drops... would six E-level crystal materials be enough?"
Six?
Seraphina considered it for a moment. That was actually a fair price.
But that was on the condition that the "crystal materials" he was talking about didn’t include Fusion Crystals.
She didn’t agree right away, instead asking cautiously, "What kind of crystals, specifically?"
"Uh..."
The other party was clearly hesitant. It took him a while to send the next message.
"Would six E-level Fusion Crystals be okay? I can send you the Description to prove I’m telling the truth."
Seraphina: "..."
Right.
It looked like she had to sincerely thank Miller now.
If it weren’t for him, Seraphina might have fallen for it this time.
She frowned and closed the chat window directly. She had no interest in haggling with a trader who had such ill intentions.
Seraphina stood up, cleared a space in the center of the mobile cabin, and crafted a brand-new stone table, placing it there.
She sat primly on the wooden stool that came with the crafted stone table and elegantly tore open a meal ticket.
The mobile cabin was covered in stone dust, making it look at first glance like Seraphina was sitting among ruins.
The meal appeared on the stone table at that very moment.
This time, it was a standard Western-style meal: one cold and one hot appetizer, a cream soup and a clear soup, and main courses of meat, seafood, and a side dish. Of course, it also came with the standard dessert and drink.
Naturally, Seraphina didn’t know all this. The reason she was so clear on the details was...
This time, along with the food containers, a waiter holding an empty plate had appeared.
Dressed in a suit, he stood beside Seraphina, empty plate in hand, explaining each dish in a gentle tone.
"The cold appetizer is smoked salmon with lemon cream and dill, featuring deep-sea silver salmon that has been cold-smoked, accompanied by sour cream and fresh dill."
"The hot appetizer is pan-seared foie gras with fig jam. It is French Rougié foie gras paired with a fig jam reduced from port wine. I suggest you taste this first."
Seraphina had no intention of playing along. Perhaps because she was so tired, she was now starving. She pulled the container with the main course over, expertly gripped her knife, and sliced off a piece of meat.
The waiter, not giving up, followed up with his introduction, "Our featured meat dish today is Beef Wellington, with Australian Wagyu fillet wrapped in foie gras pâté and a wild mushroom puff pastry. The core temperature is 52 degrees Celsius, which is rare."
Seraphina took a bite as he spoke. Hearing the word "rare," her appetite instantly halved, but she was genuinely hungry. She chewed a few times and swallowed it down hastily.
The waiter was about to say something more when Seraphina shot him a sideways glance and grumbled, "Well-done would be better."
The waiter: "..."
’I shouldn’t have come.’
Yes, he really shouldn’t have come.
As Seraphina took a few more bites, the more she looked at him, the more he annoyed her.
She was trying to eat!
This grown man was just standing there like a statue, not offering to help or pass her anything. He just held an empty plate, his eyes glued on her, his mouth flapping, blabbering on about this and that.
What was the point of this guy appearing with the meal ticket?
’To ruin my appetite?’
If so, he had succeeded.
Seraphina’s eyes narrowed. She went on the offensive. "What can you do besides talk?"
The waiter’s lips pressed into a thin line, a vein on his forehead pulsing as if in defiance. He said, "I am here to provide the finest service for our restaurant’s guest—that is, you."
"The finest service?"
Seraphina repeated the question, then casually picked up the only beverage on the table not in a container—a glass of red wine—and leisurely swirled it twice. She gestured at their surroundings.
"Letting your guest dine in this environment, is that what you call the finest service?"
The waiter froze, looking like he wanted to argue, but he clamped his mouth shut under Seraphina’s gaze. He forced a smile and asked, "Do you require me to clean this up for you?"
To Seraphina’s ears, that sentence was no different from "The free hourly help has arrived."
She smiled, this time with genuine sincerity. "Of course."
The eyesore next to her was finally gone.
Seraphina began to enjoy her rather excellent lunch at her own pace. It was just a shame that the portions of this meal were noticeably smaller than the last one.
