The shriek was jarring. A stabbing pain pulsed through Seraphina Sinclair’s head with each wave of sound.

Her brow furrowed tightly, and the pain made it hard to even keep her eyes open.

But her reason remained intact. Her mind was still sharp.

Seeing the monster’s body suddenly contort, a clear sign it was about to attack again, Seraphina Sinclair raised her hand and tore a Corpse Suppression Rune!

This was an F-level rune. Its Description was very clear: it only had a temporary binding effect on monsters that were F-level or below! Using it against the Singer in the Mists, an E-level monster, was undoubtedly like a praying mantis trying to stop a chariot.

But for that very reason, Seraphina didn’t stop after tearing one. She immediately pulled out a whole stack of Corpse Suppression Runes and used them all.

’If I can’t improve the quality, I’ll just use quantity to suppress it!’

In short, her current tactic was to stall for time.

The moment the Yellow Paper runes shattered between Seraphina Sinclair’s fingers, streaks of dark gold light shot out like slithering snakes. Like leeches sensing blood, these gray threads plunged violently into the Singer’s smoke-like body.

It worked, but she didn’t know how long the effect would last.

Seraphina Sinclair gripped her dagger and rushed forward in a few quick strides. ’Fire didn’t work. If the dagger is useless too... doesn’t that make this thing invincible at this stage?’

But this time, Seraphina had miscalculated again.

The dagger passed straight through the monster’s body as if it were cutting through air.

Now steady on her feet, Seraphina didn’t waste a second. She immediately drew her dagger, took a step forward, and plunged it viciously into the monster’s body!
