Chapter 74: Chapter 74: A Room of Warmth

Seraphina Sinclair sighed. She could only put these matters aside for now.

She opened the regional channel and saw that "Not Fueling Up Today" was still advertising for her.

[Not Fueling Up Today]: The Insight from Master Blacktiger contains a crucial piece of information. I think it’s something everyone needs to know. I highly recommend buying it.

"A crucial piece of information?"

"Damn... you’ve really piqued my interest. Guess I have to buy it now, huh?"

"That’s not the point. I already bought it. @Blacktiger Ford, why haven’t you sent it, Master?"

"Yeah, that’s right! @Blacktiger Ford! Send it! The customer is always right. Even if my attitude sucks a little, the Master can’t complain, right? Heh heh."

Seraphina Sinclair: "..."

She truly had nothing to say.

Seraphina Sinclair opened her private messages, selected the survivors she was trading with, and sent the pre-written trade contracts with a single click. Once the other party agreed to the trade and paid 5 Black Fog Coins, they would be able to see the screenshot within the contract.

Some survivors, who trusted Seraphina Sinclair completely, simply sent the five Black Fog Coins over as a gift. For them, Seraphina had to open each dialogue box one by one and send the screenshot manually.

’Being trusted this much is its own kind of hassle...’

In just two hours, by earning only 5 Black Fog Coins from each survivor, Seraphina Sinclair had made over a thousand Black Fog Coins!

She now had a total of 1569 Black Fog Coins. Among the survivors, she was definitely the wealthiest.

The number was actually a little low. Survivors who sent the Black Fog Coins directly weren’t bound by the trade contract’s restrictions, which led to secondary sharing.

Now, you could see Seraphina Sinclair’s screenshot just by opening the regional channel.

So many people had posted it that it was impossible to trace it back to the original leaker.

Seraphina Sinclair had honored their trust, but some people had not honored hers.

She shook her head, deciding not to dwell on it.

She’d take it as a lesson learned. Next time, she’d have to make the terms clear in advance.

No transactions other than through trade contracts. That would prevent this situation from repeating, which was unpleasant for Seraphina Sinclair and for the people who had paid for the information.

The first official night of the survival game passed amid the noisy chatter of the regional channel.

When Seraphina Sinclair opened her eyes the next day, she could clearly feel she was in better condition than the day before. The Immunity Crystal was still working.

The upgrade to her mobile cabin was also complete. The wooden door and windows were reinforced and did indeed look a bit sturdier than before.

As for the complimentary table and chair set... it was worse than the stone table Seraphina Sinclair had made herself. She immediately listed it on the trading channel and exchanged it for basic materials.

To Seraphina Sinclair’s surprise, a monster appeared outside her window again this morning. It was the same one from yesterday morning—the Memory Eater.

Seraphina Sinclair figured that killing this one would also drop an Immunity Crystal.

She had been wondering what other survivors would do once their Immunity Crystals wore off. She never expected the monsters to restock themselves.

The regional channel was abuzz with the same topic.

"Sigh... I just dealt with one yesterday, and another one shows up today."

"I don’t even need the Immunity Crystal. The side effects are a bit unpleasant, but not nearly as unpleasant as this monster! I get scared just looking at it. Scared and nauseous at the same time. Help... can it please stop respawning!"

"I feel you, guy above me! It doesn’t even attack, it just stares at you with its rotten eyes. Isn’t that just to scare the hell out of us?!!"

"I’m gonna go buy three more runes from Master Blacktiger... They’re a bit expensive, but man, they work wonders."

"You actually managed to buy some? Master Blacktiger still hasn’t replied to my message. He probably looked down on what I offered. I’ve been getting by on my own."

"Who isn’t getting by on their own? But it can’t just respawn every day, can it?! If it does, does that mean I have to fight a battle for my life every single morning?"

"To the person above, you could just ignore it. Don’t talk about it being ’unpleasant.’ I can’t even be bothered to argue with that. It just means one thing: you’re not scared enough of dying."

"Exactly. Someone who’s truly afraid of dying wouldn’t give the monster a chance to ’restock.’ What are a few side effects? I can just tough it out!"

"From a certain point of view, the guy above is a true warrior."

...

The regional channel may have been a chaotic mess, but for Seraphina Sinclair, business was booming again.

She looked at the offers flooding her private messages, hesitated for a moment, but ultimately restrained herself.

’I said it yesterday. I have to move first today.’

’Trading can wait. If I move too late, the NPC will be gone.’

’I’ll use the runes I have on hand for myself. I can just draw more this afternoon before I start trading!’

As soon as it turned eight o’clock, Seraphina Sinclair immediately began providing sunshine to the Sunflower.

Previously, she would always wait for the sunshine in one lantern to be used up before providing the Sunflower with another. But today, she suddenly discovered that the Sunflower could seemingly absorb the sunshine from two lanterns at once, doubling its sunshine production Speed!

She had discovered another simple trick to boost efficiency!

Seraphina Sinclair didn’t let it go to her head. She sat beside the Sunflower, watching it shake its head as it absorbed the sunshine from the two lanterns.

’Come to think of it... the Sunflower never used to shake its head when it was just one lantern.’

’Shaking its head like that... I hope the kid doesn’t scramble its brains, right?’

Er...

’It probably doesn’t matter. After all, the kid isn’t very bright to begin with.’

Auric Young also liked to come out and play early in the morning.

It circled the Sunflower twice, then circled Seraphina Sinclair twice. It didn’t do much, but it was still pretty cute.

The mobile cabin was filled with a cozy atmosphere.

But what made Seraphina Sinclair happiest of all were the floors and wooden walls, which reset every night. The stench that had lingered in her nostrils all of yesterday was finally gone!

This good news so early in the morning put some extra pep in Seraphina Sinclair’s step. She even cooked an extra piece of fish for breakfast.

Seraphina Sinclair finished everything, soup and noodles included.

Just as nine o’clock arrived, the Sunflower’s two hundred Hunger Level points were completely depleted.

Seraphina Sinclair retrieved the nutrient liquid from the composter, fed it to the Sunflower, and waited for another half an hour. Today’s three hundred sunshine was now in hand!

She glanced at the Memory Eater standing outside the window, then gripped her room card and infused it with sunshine.

’If the cabin moves, the monster won’t get flung off, will it?’

Seraphina Sinclair’s worry was clearly unnecessary. The moment the cabin began to move, the Memory Eater outside the window vanished abruptly, as if erased.

Seraphina Sinclair froze for a second, thinking she had been pulled into a hallucination by some monster again. She frowned and slapped her cheeks, but when she looked again, the monster was still gone.

’So there’s no monster, and it’s definitely not a hallucination.’

’Then it must be some kind of game mechanic, right?’

Seraphina Sinclair blinked, then opened the regional channel and did a quick search. She actually found something.

It was a message from yesterday morning. She had been so busy sorting through trades that she hadn’t paid attention to the regional channel, and had missed it completely.

"The monster by the window disappeared when I moved. I thought it was gone for good, but after the cabin stopped, it was right back at the window again. It’s like a ghost you can’t shake..."

"So it just vanishes... I thought my cabin moved so fast it flung the monster off. I was even looking around for loot drops."
