Survive in the Black Mist: My Sunflower Can Navigate
Chapter 69: Workbench Blueprint
Chapter 69: Chapter 69: Workbench Blueprint
For a long time afterward, Seraphina Sinclair would subconsciously use Insight before opening a Supply Box.
It wasn’t out of caution, but purely because the psychological trauma from today was just too severe.
Spewing out along with the foul-smelling mucus was a half-digested human limb.
The thing, tangled with shreds of cloth and undissolved bone, hit Seraphina Sinclair’s wooden wall with a SPLAT. It then slid down, dragging a viscous, bloody smear behind it.
Seraphina Sinclair stared blankly at the object for a full half-minute before she managed to tear her gaze away. She applied another Fire Drawing Rune, praying inwardly that the grotesque remains would disappear along with the monster once it was dead.
’It will disappear, won’t it?’
’It has to disappear...’
’This monster must have just eaten someone, right?’
’So gluttonous... It didn’t even finish digesting before coming out to find its next target...’
Seraphina Sinclair cursed inwardly. The stench made her gag again.
’This is just awful...’
Seraphina Sinclair had killed plenty of monsters since arriving here, but monsters were just that—monsters.
They were different from people.
If it were just monsters, she could have treated this whole thing like an ultra-realistic game—one where she just had to be a bit more careful, having only one life.
But a human corpse... This was truly the first time she had ever seen one.
In her past life, during her most morbidly curious phase, Seraphina Sinclair had flipped through a few forensic anatomy books, but how could pictures printed in a book possibly compare to the real thing?
While it bore some resemblance to the body of a Rotting Corpse, the psychological impact was completely different—and that was to say nothing of the fact that this one was half-digested.
Seraphina Sinclair glanced over again. The mucus and rotting flesh clung softly to the floor, exposing the stark white bone...
’Terrifying and disgusting.’
’If this thing doesn’t disappear with the monster...’
She slowly raised a hand to cover her eyes. ℴℴ𝘮
’There’s no point in thinking about it any further.’
’The worst that can happen is I’ll have to clean it up myself. I’ll just wait and see what happens.’
The flesh monster’s body writhed in the scorching flames, filling the air with the smell of burning.
Seraphina Sinclair watched with cold eyes as its corpse slowly vanished, leaving an E-level Supply Box in its place.
’A Supply Box from an E-level monster like this should contain something good.’
But the Black Fog was about to surge in for the second time. Seraphina Sinclair carried the Supply Box to her bedside, then, her face grim, went to deal with the uninvited guest the monster had spat out.
She just tossed the remains outside for now. As for the stains left behind, she had neither the time nor the proper tools to deal with them.
Seraphina Sinclair stared at the lingering stains on the wall and sighed silently. Some of the mucus had already seeped into the wooden boards. Cleaning it herself would be largely ineffective; she could only hope the wall would refresh along with the floor tomorrow.
’It’s just that for today... the stench in the mobile cabin definitely isn’t going away.’
The next two incursions of the Black Fog passed without incident, each leaving a single F-level Supply Box lying quietly on the floor.
Seraphina Sinclair shook her head and continued to channel sunshine into the door card.
Before night fell, Seraphina Sinclair successfully completed her move.
Two waves later, another multi-monster encounter occurred, netting her an E-level Supply Box.
Other than that, they were all F-level.
Seraphina Sinclair rubbed her hands together and started with the first E-level Supply Box!
[Congratulations! You have obtained: Automatic Workbench Diagram x1, Full Set of Bathing Suit x1!]
’A diagram from an E-level Supply Box?!’
Seraphina’s spirits lifted, and she immediately picked up the ancient Sheepskin Scroll to examine it closely.
[Automatic Workbench Diagram (E-level)]
[Learning Requirement: Intelligence ≥ 12]
[Materials Required: Complete Tool Box x1, Fuel Generator x1, Precision Guide x3, Essence Crystal x3, Wood x10, Metal Fragments x10]
[Effect: Insert materials and the diagram, then set the desired quantity. This machine will handle the production automatically! No need to worry about missing materials; the machine can use Black Fog Coins to instantly purchase replacements!]
’So this is what the Complete Tool Box is for.’
Seraphina mentally patted herself on the back for her foresight, then moved on to the other materials.
’A Fuel Generator...?’
’Forget a Fuel Generator, I haven’t even found any fuel. The gasoline I’m using now came from a trade with someone else!’
’And what in the world are Precision Guides and Essence Crystals?’
’The names sound like high-grade materials, though...’
Seraphina stared at the two names in silence for a moment before decisively searching for them on the regional channel.
The search came up empty.
’Well then... I guess I’ll put this diagram away for now.’
Seraphina stared at the effect description a while longer. ’Automatic production, and I can even use Black Fog Coins to instantly buy missing materials...’
’Now this is a genuinely good item.’
’But that was the problem with an item this good: she was missing too many components. It was impossible to craft right now.’
Seraphina sighed and carefully stored the diagram in her Silver Moon Earrings.
’The second item is a Full Set of Bathing Suit?’
Seraphina opened it to take a look. It had shampoo, shower gel, and more. Amazingly, it also included a washcloth and a loofah, toothpaste and a toothbrush, and even came with a pair of flip-flops and a towel.
’What kind of "Full Set of Bathing Suit" is this? This is a care package of essential daily supplies that everyone needs!’
Seraphina took the items out one by one. She sniffed the shampoo; it had a refreshing lime fragrance. The scent felt exceptionally precious on this night filled with the reek of blood.
She eagerly put the Full Set of Bathing Suit away, planning to take a proper bath in a little while.
Next up was the second E-level Supply Box.
[Congratulations! You have obtained: Protective Clothing x1, Black Fog Coins x50!]
’Protective Clothing?’
Seraphina’s eyes lit up, and she immediately took it out to inspect it.
The Protective Clothing was folded neatly into a square, its color an industrial off-white.
Seraphina grabbed the collar and shook it open. As the fabric rubbed against itself, it made a faint rustling sound, like that of a waterproof coating, which was exceptionally clear in the silent mobile cabin.
[Protective Clothing (E-level)]
[Description: A standard-issue work uniform from a certain well-known foundation. It can protect against most low-level Spiritual Pollution and also offers good resistance to the negative effects of certain paths! However, it is rather useless against disasters caused by extreme weather. It can even be recycled when damaged! Click here!]
’Why is there a recycling ad?’
Driven by curiosity, Seraphina tapped it. A brand new dialogue window immediately popped up before her.
"Don’t want this Protective Clothing? Oh, it’s brand new. You’re recycling it as secondhand already? Sure, sure! We have no objection, but the price will still be the secondhand rate. That’s 23 Black Fog Coins in total. If that’s okay, you can go ahead and click to collect your payment."
Seraphina paused, then silently clicked "Reject."
Despite the dialogue window’s desperate pleas for her to reconsider, Seraphina deftly found the exit button.
Finally, the recycling system left one last, exasperated message, "Don’t click it if you’re not selling!" before the dialogue window shut completely.
