Chapter 452: Chapter 451: Two Pandas

Seraphina Sinclair didn’t send any further explanation, but this sentence was enough to make her point.

The description of those insects even included the word "harmless." The damage they caused to the hut naturally wouldn’t be considered combat damage.

But these monsters were different. No matter how well they hid, any damage done to a hut while exterminating them would be considered combat damage!

And as long as it was combat damage, it would be reset the next day.

"I get it now," someone said. "I’m on it!"

"I get it too, but what do I do if I don’t have any gasoline?"

"Use alcohol? Hard liquor? Anything that burns?"

"Everyone, calm down! Don’t set your own huts on fire!"

"Who cares if I set it on fire? It’ll reset tomorrow! What’s there to be afraid of?!"

The mood in the channel had completely shifted. It went from doubting Blacktiger Ford to "how to safely burn down your own hut."

Watching these discussions, the corners of Seraphina Sinclair’s mouth lifted into a slight smile.

She closed the channel and looked at the escrow record interface.

Eighty-six thousand, two hundred and thirty Black Fog Coins were sitting there quietly, just waiting for the system to validate her answer before being automatically transferred to her account. ⅇ

Would the system validate it?

Of course it would. Because everything she said was true.

Seraphina Sinclair stood up, stretched, and went to the bathroom to wash up.

Kicked out of the bathroom, Luna Jacobs had a completely bewildered look on her face. ’It’s just washing your face and brushing your teeth, right? Why can’t I watch?’

She scratched her head, feeling helpless, when she suddenly noticed the utter mess on the floor.

Luna Jacobs: "???"

’What kind of monster did we run into? Why is there blood all over the room?!’

She opened her mouth to say something, but found her throat felt as if it were blocked.

The Gloom Hatchling poked its head out from beside her feet, glanced at the gruesome scene filling the room, and then nonchalantly pulled its head back in.

It had already been through this once. All it wanted now was a good sleep.

"This... this..." Luna Jacobs pointed at the charred marks on the floor, then suddenly paused, staring at the Gloom Hatchling in disbelief. "Why are you covered in blood too!"

No one answered her.

The sound of splashing water came from the bathroom. Seraphina Sinclair was inside, leisurely taking a shower, completely ignoring the chaos outside.

The Gloom Hatchling had already closed its eyes, its tail twitching occasionally as if it were chasing something in a dream.

The Sunflower, however, had its single golden eye wide open, watching Luna Jacobs’s frantic state with great interest. Its flower head swayed slightly, looking like it was enjoying the show.

After her shower, Seraphina Sinclair felt completely refreshed.

As soon as she walked out into the mobile hut, she saw Luna Jacobs sitting on a clean patch of floor, scraping away the charred flesh on the ground with a small trowel.

Seraphina Sinclair watched for a moment, found it boring, and turned to head back to the kitchen.

Her small bed was in the kitchen. After such a busy day, who wouldn’t want to lie down for a while?

Seraphina Sinclair’s guess had been correct. In the time it took to take a shower, the escrow record had gone from a hazy gray to a sparkling, claimable state.

This meant that someone had already followed her method and eliminated the monsters that had gotten into their hut.

Towel-drying her wet hair, Seraphina Sinclair opened the regional channel and, as expected, was greeted by a screen full of cheers.

"Master Blacktiger is a legend!!! I did what you said, splashed gasoline all over the floor, and lit it up! My hut is cleaner than my face now!"

"Dude above, you’re ruthless. Weren’t you afraid of setting yourself on fire?"

"Afraid of what! I had a bucket of water ready beforehand. Put the fire out right after it was done! The effect was phenomenal! Not a single one of those hatchlings escaped! Only thing is, the only part of my mobile hut left is the floorboard under my feet. Hope tomorrow comes quickly."

"I used alcohol. The effect was pretty good too, except I almost got drunk from the fumes..."

"Thanks, Master Blacktiger! You totally deserved those eighty-thousand-plus Black Fog Coins!"

"Heh heh, I only donated 10 Black Fog Coins and got the solution. What a great deal!"

"I only donated 10 Black Fog Coins too. There’s strength in numbers! This model is actually pretty great."

"Master Blacktiger’s method really works, it just tests your nerve when you’re doing it. My hands were shaking when I poured the gasoline. I was so scared I’d set myself on fire."

"It’s fine even if you do. It’ll just reset tomorrow anyway."

"Are you insane?! The hut resets, but do YOU reset too?"

"Still, you should be careful playing with fire. Just stand farther away next time."

"Next time? You want there to be a next time?!"

"There’s no guarantee this thing will only happen once. Of course we have to be prepared!"

Reading this, Seraphina Sinclair nodded silently to herself.

’That person has the right mindset.’

The monsters of this world didn’t care if you needed a break after dealing with one wave. When it was time for them to come, they would come.

The channel was still buzzing with activity.

"Say, has Master Blacktiger claimed those eighty-thousand-plus Black Fog Coins yet? How come they haven’t said anything?"

"A master like that doesn’t have time to chat with us plebs. They’re busy."

"True. Over eighty thousand Black Fog Coins is a fortune to us, but it might just be pocket money for them."

"Pocket money?! I’m so jealous. I’m actually salty."

"Don’t be salty. They earned that much because they’re skilled. If you’ve got the skills, you can earn it too."

"If I could just clean up those hatchlings, I’d already consider myself skilled. Forget about earning Black Fog Coins..."

Seraphina Sinclair read through the discussion but had no intention of jumping in to say anything.

She closed the channel, her gaze falling on the now-empty escrow record.

Eighty-six thousand, two hundred and thirty Black Fog Coins were now sitting securely in her account. The number in the Black Fog Coin column had jumped to 311,479.

Three hundred and eleven thousand!

Staring at the number, Seraphina Sinclair was filled with emotion.

Back when she bought the Green Flood Dragon Tendon at a 90% discount, she still had to borrow some Black Fog Coins from 001. Now, she could have almost paid the full price outright.

Seraphina Sinclair leaned against the headboard, staring at the string of digits in her account for a long while, unable to suppress the smile on her face.

What made her even happier was the partnership agreement she had signed with 001 earlier that day.

Once those blueprints were put into operation, they would definitely bring in another huge stream of income.

Seraphina Sinclair could almost foresee it. In the near future, that number in her account would multiply many times over, climbing to a sum she currently didn’t even dare to imagine.

Outside the window, the black fog remained impenetrably thick, but inside the hut, it was warm and cozy.

But the mobile hut was far from quiet tonight.

Luna Jacobs scraped at the filth on the floor bit by bit, trying to clear out a space for herself to rest.

001, who had come back to sleep after a long day of running around, joined her. One holding a trowel, the other a bucket, the two of them looked at each other, speechless amidst the wreckage of the hut.

...

「Wednesday.」

Seraphina Sinclair stood up, slowly raising her arms for a long stretch, finally feeling awake.

As she came out to eat in the mobile hut, Seraphina Sinclair keenly sensed that something was off.

"You two..." she began, choosing her words carefully, "...what time did you finish scraping last night?"

Luna Jacobs listlessly lifted her eyelids to glance at her, her lips moving slightly. In the end, it was 001 who couldn’t hold back and spoke first. "Ma’am, we were scraping until three in the morning just to clear out a tiny spot to sleep!"
