Chapter 450: Chapter 449: Master of Scrutiny’s Favor

Seraphina ignored it, putting the Iron Basin and her runes to work. She crushed the larvae one after another. The rest sizzled under the flames of the Moon Flame Evil Cleansing Talismans, filling the small cabin with the smell of roasting meat.

No, that wasn’t right. It was the smell of roasting monsters.

Disgusting.

Seraphina Sinclair stood in the cabin, looking at the larvae corpses strewn across the floor and smelling the strange odor in the air. She couldn’t stop herself from gagging.

The basin came down one last time with a SPLAT. Suddenly, the monster corpses scattered across the floor began to dissolve into motes of light and vanished.

In their place was a C-level Supply Box. ℯ

Seraphina Sinclair raised a hand to wipe the sweat from her forehead, finally letting out a sigh of relief.

’The Supply Box has appeared, which means all the monsters are definitely gone. Finally, I don’t have to worry that I’ll be in the middle of a meal one day when a monster bursts out and splatters the entire mobile cabin with disgusting flesh and larvae.’

Seraphina Sinclair stood where she was, panting as she looked down at the utter mess on the floor.

Though the larvae corpses had vanished, the flesh and blood from the exploded adult remained.

Burned by the runes’ flames, the blood and chunks of flesh were charred on the surface but stuck fast to the floor beneath. The walls were also covered in scorch marks, and the furniture was in an even more gruesome state.

Her small cabin was utterly ruined.

Seraphina Sinclair fell silent for two seconds, then took a deep breath.

’It’s fine. It’ll automatically reset tomorrow.’

’I don’t sleep here at night anyway. Poor 001, though.’

Seraphina Sinclair pulled out a bottle of mineral water. She twisted off the cap and took a sip, which helped settle the churning in her stomach.

After this latest move, Seraphina Sinclair had obtained one C-level Supply Box and three D-level Supply Boxes in total.

The D-level Supply Boxes contained several types of materials, but unfortunately, she had no immediate use for them. The single C-level Supply Box, on the other hand, yielded five different items!

[You have received: Expansion Essence (C-level) x3, Black Fog Essence (C-level) x1, Moonstone Powder (C-level) x100, Laminated Long Blade (C-level) x1, Master of Scrutiny’s Favor x1]

Seraphina Sinclair stared at the list on the panel, her eyes narrowing slightly.

Though it was her first time obtaining the first two items, she had heard a lot about them.

The last three, however, were new to her.

[Moonstone Powder (C-level)]

[Description: A mysterious powder derived from moonlight. When processed with silver ingots, it can be used to create Secret Silver Ingots!]

’Secret Silver Ingots!’

Seraphina Sinclair immediately remembered where she had seen this material before.

’The Fine Weapons Engraving Diagram!’

Both the B-level blueprint for engraving the Water Dragon Roar and the C-level blueprint for engraving the Shadow Assault Fang required this material!

’It seems Secret Silver Ingots are a common material for forging weapons.’

Thinking about the furnace’s production rate for silver ingots, Seraphina Sinclair silently put the material away.

’Luna Jacobs is busy.’

’With so many blueprints to work on, who knows when she’ll get to improving the Furnace Blueprint.’

[Laminated Long Blade (C-level)]

[Description: A long blade forged from multiple layers of pressed metal, resulting in a tough body and a sharp edge. While it can’t compare to higher-grade weapons, it’s a standout among C-level weapons. When equipped, it increases the user’s Strength by 8 points!]

’Eight points of Strength! That’s a lot.’

Seraphina Sinclair looked at it with envy, but she knew this weapon was nowhere near as good as the Water Dragon Roar.

But it’s human nature to want it all. She not only wanted the flashy Skill effect of the Water Dragon Roar, but also the foundational attribute point increase from the Laminated Long Blade.

’There was only one way to solve this.’

’A B-level Enhancement Scroll!’

But even C-level Supply Boxes were rare right now, let alone B-level ones.

Besides, even though they had only moved for an hour today, Seraphina Sinclair had clearly felt the increased strength of the monsters in the new area.

The thought of that writhing flesh made her stomach churn again.

’The monsters in the new area really are much harder to deal with than before.’

The monsters she’d encountered before were mostly straightforward attackers. It was a simple matter of fight or die.

But now there was this self-destructing one that left behind hundreds of larvae after exploding. The larvae would then crawl into crevices, hide, and wait to grow up just to explode again.

’What kind of battle is this?’

Seraphina Sinclair sighed and put the long blade away as well.

’It’s a mediocre weapon, but the attribute point bonus is significant.’

If she ran into a powerful enemy, Seraphina Sinclair could just hold the hilt in her teeth to get the buff.

’An eight-point Strength boost is a powerful buff, no matter how you get it.’

And the last item—

[Master of Scrutiny’s Favor]

[Description: A special item with no grade. This is a special proof of merit, certifying that the holder has demonstrated exceptional observation and judgment when facing complex threats.]

[Note: The Master of Scrutiny says, "True danger often lies hidden in the most inconspicuous details."]

’Interesting.’

Seraphina Sinclair didn’t actually know what this material was used for, but its format reminded her of another material she’d seen long ago—the Forging Master’s Approval!

’Looks like it’s another rare material.’

Seraphina Sinclair carefully put the item away, her gaze falling back to the Supply Box.

Inside were just three Expansion Essences and one Black Fog Essence.

Seraphina Sinclair stared at the items for a moment, then suddenly realized she should post a message in the regional channel to sell the Expansion Crystals she had.

’If I hold onto them any longer, I’ll be stuck with them.’

She casually took out a box of steamed cucumber and venison stew. But just as Seraphina Sinclair was about to place it on the stone table, she froze.

’No, I can’t eat here.’

After a moment’s consideration, Seraphina Sinclair decided to eat in the kitchen.

She laid out her food, picked up her chopsticks, and leisurely opened the regional channel. To her surprise, the very first message she saw mentioned her ID.

"Does Blacktiger Ford really have a solution?"

"Probably. The other top players are all talking in the regional channel, some are even asking for help. Only Blacktiger has been silent. If it’s not because she has her own solution and doesn’t need to say anything, what other reason could there be?"

"Who knows? The top players are always different from the rest of us."

"Blacktiger Ford definitely has a way, but since she’s not talking, it must be because she doesn’t care about a few Black Fog Coins."

Reading this, Seraphina Sinclair was even more baffled.

’What solution? What call for help? And where are these Black Fog Coins coming from?’

She casually scrolled up and found the source of it all.

[Night Owl]: Since everyone is encountering this, it must be a global event. If we can completely eliminate these larvae, we might get some kind of group reward. I’m willing to offer one thousand Black Fog Coins to buy a solution to this crisis from Master Blacktiger! Everyone, no matter how many Black Fog Coins you have, chip in a little. As long as Blacktiger is willing to share, all these Black Fog Coins will be hers!

Seraphina Sinclair stared at the message, blinking. Her chopsticks froze in mid-air.

She scrolled down and saw dozens of replies under the message.

"I’ll put in 50!"

"I’ll put in 100!"
