Survive in the Black Mist: My Sunflower Can Navigate
Chapter 413 - 412: B-level Weapon
Chapter 413: Chapter 412: B-level Weapon
It can understand basic commands.
And it will obey.
A half-dozen ideas flashed through her mind. ’The contract’s duration is short, but this is still excellent.’
’I can make this creature scout ahead, pull mobs, or even have it take care of a monster that I can’t handle myself right now.’
’Excellent.’
The Gloom Hatchling shivered in its sleep. The tip of its tail flicked unconsciously in the air a couple of times, as if warding off some malevolent gaze.
Seraphina Sinclair stored the card in her Silver Moon Earrings and reached out to open the second chest.
[Enhancement Scroll (C-level)]
[Description: A single-use Enhancement Scroll. Upon use, a C-level or lower weapon will receive a random attribute points bonus. This scroll has no fixed point value; the attribute increase is entirely dependent on luck! A gambler’s romance, The Lucky King’s toy, the tears of the unlucky. This scroll does not require a success rate check; activation guarantees enhancement, but the random result is irreversible, cannot be rerolled, and cannot be undone. Each weapon can only be enhanced once. Please think twice before use, or just close your eyes and rip it.]
Seraphina Sinclair’s pupils dilated for an instant before she quickly regained her composure.
’They actually have "proper" enhancement items like this?’
’No... it’s different.’
Seraphina Sinclair carefully reread the Description. It was written very clearly: "receive a random attribute points bonus."
This item grants a weapon bonus attribute points, whereas both the Fog Condensation Residue and Ash Remnant are enhancements that bestow special effects.
’And... there’s no guaranteed minimum for the points. It’s possible to only get one attribute point from this scroll. From that perspective, this thing is even worse than the residues.’
Unfortunately, neither of the two types of residue she had could enhance her B-level Weapon, Water Dragon Roar.
She sighed and carefully put away the two items she had received.
’Still a decent haul.’
Besides these, the other rewards were unchanged.
This time, the three Random Attribute Potions gave her two points in Constitution and one in Speed. Combined with the five points from being able to equip two titles, Seraphina Sinclair’s current stats were looking quite impressive.
[Name]: Seraphina Sinclair
[Zone]: Drakonia Zone 666
[Intelligence]: 37
[Strength]: 38
[Constitution]: 35
[Speed]: 38
[Evaluation]: When a predator no longer needs to prove it is a predator, its prey begins to measure fear by its name. The black fog has not yet dissipated, but the path you have walked has become a beacon for others.
Seraphina Sinclair stared at the line for the Evaluation for a couple of extra seconds.
’A beacon.’
The corner of her mouth curved up slightly as she closed the stats panel.
’A beacon is meant to guide the way, not to be a target. But in this world, the guide and the target are often one and the same.’
In addition to these items, there was also the useless title issued after every instance clear.
Seraphina Sinclair glanced at it, then let it gather dust with her other titles.
When she opened her private messages again, Artemis had already pulled her into a group chat. The chat was named [8 O’Clock Drop], and there were only four people in it.
Cloudmute wasn’t in it.
Seraphina Sinclair thought for a moment but still felt it was unlikely she had guessed wrong.
’Artemis is a cautious person. There’s no way she’s actually carrying the Expansion Crystals on her.’ Besides, Seraphina still couldn’t figure out why on earth Artemis was unwilling to sign a trade contract with her collaborators in the group.
’If this were a truly sincere trade, signing one would be a given.’
’After all, a contract gives everyone peace of mind.’
Seraphina Sinclair frowned in thought for a moment, and an idea suddenly popped into her head.
’Could the number of Expansion Crystals Artemis told her about be fake?’
’No, that’s too ambiguous. It’s more like... Mountainwind, Nathan Kane, and Cloudmute all think the number of Expansion Crystals is what Artemis reported, but in reality...’
’...Artemis is hiding more, isn’t she?’
Seraphina Sinclair remembered that when Mountainwind came to her, he’d said that collecting the crystals was handled entirely by Artemis; the others had only contributed supplies.
In that case, faking the number of Expansion Crystals would be incredibly simple for Artemis.
This would explain why Artemis wouldn’t sign a trade contract with them.
’A contract would impose restrictions, making it much harder for her to pull any tricks.’
The more Seraphina Sinclair thought about it, the more sense it made. Unfortunately, she had no hard evidence, only wild speculation based on these small clues.
But she had Heart-piercing Grace. Killing with it... was silent. Speculation alone was useless; she had to take action. Or rather, go "meet" Cloudmute.
If Seraphina Sinclair’s suspicions were correct, then the four of them had set a trap to lure her in today.
Seraphina Sinclair detested being plotted against more than anything. As far as she was concerned, killing any of them would be self-defense.
Even if her suspicions were wrong, it didn’t matter. The fact that those four were hoarding had already put her in a chokehold.
She hadn’t forgotten. Back then, just as she’d zeroed in on a trade, intending to buy an Expansion Crystal, someone else had snatched it up. Once would have been one thing, but it happened several times in a row.
Back then, she hadn’t known people were hoarding. She hadn’t known there were people in this Zone combing through the trade channel, catching every last crystal that trickled through in their net.
Seraphina Sinclair clenched her fists. She was dead set on ridding the world of this public menace.
Having made up her mind, there was no need to waste time.
She had quite a few arena proofs from Shatterer. More than enough to kill four people.
Seraphina Sinclair drank a few Potions to make sure she was in peak condition, then gripped Water Dragon Roar and used an arena proof on Cloudmute.
The next second, the scene before her eyes changed rapidly.
The rock walls of the Wind-carved Fissure outside, the stone walls of her mobile cabin, the drooping Sunflower by the window... every familiar sight was wiped away as if by a giant hand, replaced by a white, bordered space.
The arena.
The System’s arena always looked like this.
No wind, no light, no temperature, like a transparent box drained of all life.
Seraphina Sinclair stood on one side, holding her long blade. Her posture was tall and straight, like a graceful swordmaster from ancient times.
Cloudmute on the other side, however, was not so calm.
The shock in her eyes had yet to fade, and countless thoughts flashed through her mind.
’Once an arena is initiated, it’s a fight to the death! I thought my disguise was good enough!’
’Why on earth did Blacktiger Ford target me? And use an arena proof without a moment’s hesitation?!’
She swallowed hard, and after getting a clear look at the weapon in the hands of the person standing opposite her, all hope vanished from her eyes.
’I’m done for.’
’I’m absolutely done for!’
’Blacktiger Ford alone is an almost impossible opponent for me. Now he’s even holding a B-level Weapon!’
’Oh, heavens, that’s a B-level Weapon!’
